Has anyone stayed at the Boardwalk Inn, especially in the Innkeepers Club? We have never stayed at the Boardwalk before and we have never stayed concierge, so any input is welcome. Our traveling party will be comprised of myself, my husband and our daughter who will be two at the time. We will be there in October, taking advantage of the Fairytale vacation package we got through AAA. Thanks in advance! :)

I would especially appreciate if anyone has any pictures of the BWI, especially the concierge area. Thanks so much! :)

Thank you *123JOANNA123* :) Has anyone stayed here before??

Overall, it was a pleasant experience. Worth it? Probably not. But at the time we made our ressies, we wanted to try the BWI, and that was all that was available. We stayed there last November, for the Food and Wine Festival.

The rooms are comfortable, and we had a HUGE balcony overlooking the Boardwalk and the Flying Fish. But we hardly ever went out there, so it was sort of useless. TIP: Unless you enjoy a lot of noise outside your window until about 10:30 at night...don't stay in a room over the Boardwalk. The place gets busy and raucous. Oompah bands and all that. Sigh.

Anyway ... it was nice having someone to check our PS ressies and make new ones for us. And I suspect having a concierge person call helped snag us seats for Cindy's breakfast without any fuss.

But the food in the lounge is only so-so, and after a couple days, sort of boring. (Though the late night desert snacks were neat -- chocolate covered strawberries!) They also do not keep chilled water or sodas on hand. So taking a small bottle of lukewarm water in the morning, for a day in the parks, was less-than-satisfying.

I'd stay at the hotel again in a heartbeat; the place is colorful and fun and very convenient to everything. Service was excellent, too. (We're new DVC members, and I'm sure we'll visit there someday in the future!)

But I wouldn't spring for concierge again if I didn't have to. Just not worth it, imho.

We stayed there. It was very nice, although not my favorite.

The hostesses in the lounge were very pleasant, kept trying to top off my wine glass.

The decor is a little too "chintzy" for our taste, although the room was large and comfortable, and very clean.

On a scale of 1-10 I give it a 7 or so.

ZPT1022,

We are headed there this weekend for our first stay. I must say that the concierge staff has been great so far. We are really trying to just "go with the flow" on this trip, and I really had no requests for them. Last week, Don from the staff called, to make sure I didn't need any PS's I guess he saw that there were none booked. Well anyway, I called him back yesterday, and he arranged all the PS's that I wanted. ( it was only 4!) So I will let you know more when we get back.

I stayed there in March for my yearly "girls only" trip. I have stayed at concierge at both Y&B club and must say I lived the BWI much better. The cast there were wonderful. I have booked my next family trip there for October and we will also stay there again with the girls next March. Jackie, Dan and Eric in the lounge were fantastic. They made you feel like you were their only concern and would do anything for you. You will enjoy it. Have fun and tell Jackie, Kerry said hi!

We stayed there in December and thought that the concierge was lacking horribly. WE had stayed at the Poly on a prior visit and their services/menu were 10 times better. At the BWI the drinks are warm and there is really nothing setting out to munch on except stale popcorn and M&M's. The Poly always had a huge supply of very cold water, sodas, juices etc. Always something to eat there. The offerings were enough for a lite dinner at the Poly...and hardly worth going to the lounge at the BWI. The resort has a great location and I agree with the noise level (we were above ESPN..if I hear that jingle one more time UGHHH).

I would not spring for Concierge there...save it for the Poly!

We stayed there last December. We got a very cheap upgrade to a Garden Suite, which came with concierge service. We enjoyed the Innkeepers Club very much when we did make use of it. We went up every morning for coffee and a light breakfast. We were never there during the middle of the day though. We did go once during the late afternoon--the offerings were a hot dip sort of thing, a veggie tray, cheese, wine, etc. We also went several evenings for dessert and cordials. Overall we liked it. The staff was friendly enough; but not overly so. They were extremely helpful in getting a problem with our luau reservations worked out. Would I pay for it again? Probably--I like the feeling of being pampered. My friends call me Princess!;)
