Boardwalk Bride's PJ Morocco/Canada/Attic/SCP updates 01/09!!

I have been looking at my budget (even though a bit is guessing) and I think I will be the first Escape bride to spend more than a wishes minimum Can you beleive I originally wanted to get married in City Hall? I blame it on disney and all their fantastic options, and on the disbrides, who show all the fantastic options! HA

Anyway, we have been discussing the photography, and we think we are going to go with AK for the second park bridal session. I just feel like it might be a better deal, since we will get pics in Epcot now anyway. I'll have to see how the logistics of it work, in terms of what time AK opens at that day. I think it will make for really nice pics, with all the lush greens in the background!

We are also debating whether or not we should add the "photojournalistic" package. For $340 more, getting an extra photographer doesn't seem like a bad deal. Than, at least we should have some pictures we like.

I'm a little annoyed with the DVD package option as well. I think it is crazy that I have to pay $300 more for digital images, and loose all of the albums. I really don't understand their prices, and I think it is the one area of DFTW that is a bad deal. So basically, if I have the MK shoot, AK shoot, ceremony photography, and photojournalistic add on, I am loosing 4 albums, but have to pay $300 more?? Sorry, I had to get this off my chest!

I'm trying to push through all my school work and research, so that I can be done soon and start applying for full time jobs! I am hoping to start one early in the new year, and if I do, I will be throwing all of my first cheques into more DFTW upgrades

Their photography packages drive me crazy too!! And they have all sorts of wierd rules! Like during my PS she told me there is no 3 hours package (only for DP's) and that I had to have 6...since when?

Oh, I know! I am starting to like their photography though. All the recent brides to use them seem to have really nice photos, and I like the examples of work done by the photographers on the DPS website. Still don't think they are worth the crazy amount of money though.

Ugh, I don't know what to do I emailed the roots and asked them if they can do just a few hours, as opposed to the half/full day packages. I still really want to do a "trash the bottom of my dress" (I can't trash the whole thing since I paid way too much) so I could think about doing that with them, at the very least!

Yeah, I'm not sure how that works, definitely couldn't hurt to ask. I think doing a Trash the Dress would be a great way to get some Roots pics for not so much money. I'm kinda thinking of maybe doing it too. I also don't want to Trash my dress so much as have some fun pics of us in an awesome setting

Hey...I just wanted to say something. I feel bad about all this stuff going on with Randy. I'd hate to influence anyones decisions...I just want to make sure both sides of the story are heard. I have seen beautiful work done by Randy AND have heard wonderful things about him. I wish our experience had been like that. But in saying all of that YOU have to be comfortable with him.

As for the Wishes/Escape dilema...we went through that. And for us, Wishes made more sense. We could get everything we wanted and it allowed more people to come. We nixed the at home reception, but that's a perosnal decision too.

I'm so excited to see how your wedding turns out!!

So I haven't done a lot of planning lately since I have been crazy busy with work school. DF and I went to his Dad's house on sunday, and found out 2 days later that his girlfriends grandchildren (who they were with right before us) have H1N1. Today I started to feel weird, nauseous, tired and have a headache. I don't think I have ever had the flu, so I thought I would be fine...but than I got a government of Canada warning in my mailbox that it can still get me, even with a strong immune system..........I'm scared In reality, it is probably a lack of sleep, stress, and bad eating (I had spicy latino food last night, which may be responsible for my upset stomach)

Moving on.........
You may remember I have ranted about not wanting certain people to come to our wedding....well...guess who is preggo!!??!! And due one month after our wedding!! Df's SIL, who is like the meanest person ever, and I don't think anyone really wanted her there, although I think DF kinda wanted his brother there. Anyway, at 8 months pregnant, she won't be able to fly, so that solves that problem!

You also may remember I had bought a pair of hot pink shoes that I was really excited about! Now that we are not doing a candyland/carnival theme, they really don't fit well, plus I don't think it is a good idea to wear 3.5 inch heals all day. (I WILL fit them in somehow...prob the rehearsal dinner). So I was on Perez Hilton the other day (yes I do that) and I saw that HBO is going to be selling Sex and the City inspired flats!!!! And since SATC is the second love of my life, I have to have them! It just so happens that one pair closely matches 2 of my colours! Here they are:

I also need to decide what extra photography we want. Here is what we are looking at:
-MK portraits (for sure)
-Photojournalist add on
-AK or EP portraits
-one, or both of the DPS

We were thinking of cutting the AK or EP portraits, but when I told my planner this, her response was that it would mean we would have to go back to our hotel, use our limo (which was going to be saved for night) and we could only get Canada pics in Epcot. I totally understand everything she is saying..it just sucks! So I am trying to decide if it is worth $300 for some extra pics, and the convenience of not having to go back to the hotel.

We also are trying to decide whether or not to have the photojournalist add on, and DP photography. The photojournalist add on is $340, and it means we get an extra photographer for the ceremony. With the DP photography, we probably wouldn't want both, but we can't decide which one to get? Should we have epcot done, since the fireworks are better? Or should we do it in Sago, since we will be in our wedding gear?

What do you ladies think?

I think your new shoes are adorable! I ended up changing into isotoner slippers that looked like ballet flats within 5 minutes of being at our reception! I should have just done something like you are looking at!

And, gotta love how fate works out with people you dont want to come. We had to make a rule of no children allowed because of one child in particular. And we kept hoping that family wouldnt come so we could allow other children. In the end they didnt come, and we had a lovely time with the ones that did! So YAY to your DF SIL being pregnant!

Oh and by the way... can't freaking wait until the SATC movie comes out! (df can't either but dont tell him i told you! hahaha) I love those flats... they're adorable!

As far as pictures go... i am doing a DP to make sure i get pics of my in my gown with fireworks... there is just something amazing about those pictures. ::sigh:: if it were up to me i'd say to the SCP DP pictures with you two in your wedding attire. You could also use an outside photographer... i know you're having issues with randy but its only 250$ for him to do the DP @ SCP.

DF and I are actually starting to think about cutting out all the portraits in the morning. I really love the idea of the MK portraits, but I don't know if I can get up at 3:30am and than function normally. Plus, I don't really know if I want to spend that much $$$ on them, considering I am not a Disney fanatic (I have only been twice in my life, and I rarely watch disney movies) so I don't know if it makes sense. We may still to the epcot or AK ones, just not sure yet! I think I want to do both DP's though. I think when I look back, I will want to have pics of everyone that was with us as well!


I also forgot to post our ADR's!!! After the crazy insane switch back to 180 days, I finally got through at 5pm (I started online at 6 am). Anyway this is what we have:

Whispering Canyon (group - supposed to be hoop de doo, but they wanted to charge me upfront for 15 people, who most have the dp..errr)

AND the most fantastic part: the wanyama safari!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I guess we can include Jiko as well!!!

That's all we booked for TS meals, I want to make sure we can have some days that remain flexible!

I hope you feel better! I've had the regular flu before and it was not fun. But even with H1N1, most people have symptoms similar in severity to the regular flu, so I don't think you need to worry too much. Just be sure to get plenty of rest and take it easy and you should start feeling better. Even if you don't have the flu, you don't want your immune system to be weak from lack of sleep.

Love the shoes, they are super cute and match perfectly!

I'll give you my take on the in park portraits too. While I think it's really cool to have those pics and I realize not everyone gets to take pics like that, for the price, I don't think it's worth it. DF and I had a talk about it and decided it was just too much money to spend for a few pictures, and we would have to pay extra (a lot extra) for the disc of images. It probably also didn't help, in DF's eyes that we'd have to get up super early! So we just put that money into our wedding day photography instead.

I have recently found out though that you can do the MK park shoot whenever, so you could always do it for a first anniversary if you decide down the line that you really want it.

I would do the DP photography at Sago since you'll be in wedding garb and also get an outside photographer. I'd also add the photojournalistic for the ceremony. It will be nice to have some photos from a different view.

Yay for ADR's! I can't believe what a mess the switch over was but at least you got everything and that safari is going to be awesome!

I'm sorry your not feeling well...it is going around so I hope its not the flu..maybe just a small bug!

I love the shoes! suuuuper cute. They look really comfy but will really stand out nicely.

I think its so funny how that worked out with the SIL haha.

I'm not much help with the pictures...tho I love the ones I have seen in Epcot and AK. I think they are my faves....so..I will always vote for them.

Alright fellow Karen, NO GETTING THE FLU! I know waaaay too many people who are sick/have been sick. Sending you some healthy pixie dust!

Now I swore you had a dress fitting or something of that sort but I could not find a picture in your PJ. Although the harder I think, it might have been stacey! Basically I'm saying I want to see some pictures of you in your dress. I just ADORE it. The front neck-line (okay, ****) area is gorgeous! I really want something similar that looks different from all the standard a-line gowns.

Oh, I had it posted, than took it down! I can try and put it up again for a bit! The dress is from pronovias...amazing dresses, but at lot of $$$ (at least for me).

I think I am going to give my PJ a rest for a few weeks. We have had some issues with our wedding in the last couple weeks that I didn't post on here. Basically, we have come into some extra drama, as well as a major difficult financial situation, due to all the funding cut backs at school (meaning some of our wedding savings has gone to tuition). Our cat is also sick, so we have to take him to the vet, which is more money. This is why I posted all the photography stuff, so we could see what we could cancel, but I'm not sure if it's gonna work. We even canceled our outside photographer, which sucks, because even after the debates about that person on here, we wanted to keep him.

Anyway, don't feel sorry for me! I really do beleive that this will all work out....but for now, there is no point in me continuing to post until I know for sure! I will still be around on all your PJ's though

Sometimes it's best to step back and take a break. I know I did that a couple of months ago when I got really overwhelmed. Not saying you should, but maybe start a new PJ after you take a breather and think about what you really REALLY want to keep/do/get rid of, etc. Just a thought! Pixie dust for you!
