Hi Anne, my husband and I just returned from 4 nights at the Swan last weekend. We ate at Bluezoo twice; we've turned into big BZ fans. I didn't make a reservation until the day before we arrived -- we had planned to eat at Artist's Point at WL but thought we'd be sick of driving when we arrived Wednesday evening. No problem getting a table. Our meal was so good that we cancelled a Saturday night reservation at Jiko at AKL and called Bluezoo just a few hours before. We wanted 7:00 but got 7:45. They were busy but could still take us. We actually arrived a little early and they had no problem seating us at 7:30. The restaurant did look fairly full by the time we left.
We'd been the year before and weren't wild about it. We're ex-New Yorkers living in South Beach now, thought Bluezoo was a tad pretentious. But this year it was just perfect. Food was really great and the presentation toned down so it felt just right. Wonderful meal both times.
Also, there is a "lite menu" area in the front, across from the long bar, that is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Not sure if it was new or not. You can't have the full menu, but the appetizers are identical to the main dining room, clam chowder, raw bar, crab nachos, etc. and it's very possible to make a meal out of combining a few items if you want a more casual experience.
