Blue Bayou vs Cafe Orleans?

Mister Toad,

I would choose neither. We went to Cafe Orleans and frankly Disney is over-priced tourist food. You're in Los Angeles so there are literally thousands of better restuarants to choose from in that area. Next time I would probably go over to Knott's and try some of their fried chicken. I have heard rave reviews of that chicken and that the locals love it.

Thanks for the input but we are only going to be there a short time and don't really want to leave the park for food. Besides, while over-priced, its still tons of fun to have meals in the park.

Thanks everyone else too for the input, I think we will be going to CO this trip to shake things up.

i'm going to echo what most people have said. Cafe Orleans is a must! It's my absolute favorite at Disneyland - and also in life! I love the atmosphere, the patio, the food and the service. We *always* get the pommes frites, gumbo and beignets.
I always make a reservation for every trip (and we go once every 2 months)

For those of you who love the beignets, my husband and I have a cooking show on YouTube and we made them - they're super simple! How-to and recipe here:

We love Disneyland food and really it is priced like theme park food, the airport is more expensive than DL. Cafe Orleans is a must for us too, we have never eaten at BB, but I have been told not to waste my time or money. Knotts chicken is ok but you can get similar fried chicken just about anywhere, including Plaza Inn.

For being in L.A. and the food choices you are correct. Who in their right mind wants to drive around L.A. just to get food. I go out for local chinese and mexican if it close but the rest of the family cares not to. I will even go to little V.N. and china town but I go alone and well armed at night, but again WHY. We go for the parks and the park food.

Another one here who loves Cafe Orleans. Pomme frites, gumbo, beignets and montecristo. :thumbsup2

BB used to be where we would go every year. DH loved the ambience and the montecristo there. However, about 3 years ago, we had a negative experience - mediocre food, bad service, and a BIG bill at the end - that we said "no more".

Cafe Orleans seems to be consistent with its quality each time we have visited. The kiddie meal choices are different. Make a reservation so you can be sure you can get in at the time you want. Hope you get to go there!!!
