I was told yesterday by a DVC agent that BLT will be going up to a record setting $120 per Point as of October the 4th!!!

Just thought I would pass this information along for anyone who is looking to Buy into BLT or Add on some points there.

Its currently still at a discount at $107 per Point = $5 off.

Wow! I guess Disney does know that a Recession is still going on!! The guides were really trying to sell this resort on the cruise I was just on.

Doesn't that mean that the beginning price point for all properties will be $120 per point? Not just BLT?

I don't know for sure about other resorts ... He just specifically said that BLT was going to be that much. He did specify and say that they were trying to slow the sales of BLT down ... So I suppose it could just apply to BLT ?? I don't know for sure:confused:

That statement alone should have us suspicious .. I cant imagine Disney wanted to slow sales of anything in this environment.

Arent the prices of the properties different today (after discounts)>?

The retail price doesnt mean a whole lot .. list price is list price. They can raise $10 per point and then shave that $10 right back off with incentive/discounts .. I think this is just a salesperson being a salesperson :):)

What's considered a good price per point for BLT?

The BLT incentives from April to June (available to everyone), IMO, were the best so far. It brought the price down to $96.00 to many people.

During that time, they also had some special Webcast specials (that some got to participate in) and those incentives brought it down a few dollars more for some of the bigger purchases.

My guide has also mentioned a few months back that one of the reasons they were eliminating the incentives on BLT was to try to gear new sales to AKV or SSR.

I think getting BLT around that $100.00 mark is a good deal, if you want it now and are getting it direct. However, if you are in no rush, I think you will start seeing it in the resale market for less (there was a 100 pt BLT contract for $98.00 per point from the TSS listed yesterday).

FYI -

Wewent to the BLT open house for members at BLT yesterday (9/4) and the price for members only was going to go up onNovember 1st to $120 but for non-member the date was the above date in October.

That is good news. I am hoping to know by mid October if I can follow through with my add on so I may be able to do it before the price increase.

At DTD event past weekend on Long Island said BLT to $120 in October.

:sad1:

At the DVC show at the Garden City Hotel on Long Island on Aug 30 added on 150 points for 99.00 including 2009 points with June use year (pro rated dues) plus 2 Mary Poppins Broadway show tickets.

Every day I feel better and better about the 360 BLT points I got in June for $91 a point

Disney wants to increase sales at AKV and finish selling SSR. 50% of BLT is undeclared and available for cash bookings and all undeclared booking money goes to Disney, not the DVC.

Hi,

Just wanted to mention that I stopped by the model DVC unit at the Boardwalk this evening and the rep (Stephanie) told me that the price for all properties would be going up to $120 per point on October 4. That's quite a jump!

Of course, as others have mentioned this could be part of a sales strategy -- it is a good selling point for people on the fence now ("better buy now before the price goes up!"), and then later they can come up with a good incentive plan to bring the price back down ("the normal price is $120 per point, so you'll get a steal at $112!").

I guess we'll see soon enough how this works out!

Has disney ever sold points at the actual published price i.e with no discounts incentives or anything?
Personally I think the points price is just a paper exercise as there allways seems to be a discount. wouldnt it be easier to have a points price and actually sell them for it, rather than all this $10per point or whatever off nonesence.

From a economics perspective, consumers typically react more positively and buy more when there is a "sale" or "discount" rather then when something is sold at full price, even if full price is grossly overstated.

I don't know, but I keep seeing resales for less the $100 a point. If I was buying....that's the way I'd go.

Recently? I haven't seen many BLT listings lately. TSS had only 1 the last time I looked, and I don't think there were any at the other website I glanced at.

BLT is definitely fewer and far between on resale. The only negative thing about resale is having to find your own financing, it's a pain in this economy. We got a loan recently on a resale, the loan officer said she doubted it would go through because it was "frivolous". :confused3 Guess the approving officer was a Disney lover! :cool1:
