What is consider a magic kingdom view at BLT ? Are ALL the rooms facing the MK consider mk view or only the ones on higher floors that actually has a view of the theme park. Is 1st floor facing MK also consider MK view. Kinda waste for all those points to look at MK bus stop on first few floors.

Wondering as well. Then again if those are standard view points-some will be within one floor of MK view and a great value.

DVC has yet to provide exactly where the particular categories of rooms will be. It has said about 11% will be standard, 20% MK, and the rest lake view. Best guess is that the lowest one or two floors on the outside of the C-shaped building will be standard but that is not certain. Technically many of those "face" MK but the main view will be of parking lot. Some believe standard will also include some of the rooms within the C but I seriously doubt it -- they will likely call all those lake view because you can at least see the water from the porch of the room. A key unanswered question is how high up does the MK view start on the outside of that C and how far around that C does it travel -- e.g., there could be MK view rooms that really look at lake but if you are on the proch you can see the MK. We just don't know. With the very high points needed for MK view one hopes they don't get "dumb" (euphemism for "greedy" when it comes to having more points to sell) by calling a number of rooms on the peripherary (either too low or too far around that C) MK views that really have "just barely" MK views. Unfortunately, I fear that "dumb" will win the day when it comes to the "suits" of management making a decision..

some of the villa will be directly across from the CR - so those to me would be standard - CR is not a lake view.

also it say lake view not water view. so swimming pools do NOT count for the lake views.

won't count on any at the side looking at the MK being standard - even those on the bottom should be able to see the MK. - remember the mK is higher.

the one looking at the parking lot won't be able to see the MK at all - so only those closest to the CR. if you can see the parking lot plus MK -those are MK views.

now higher up along part of the villa facing CR - there are some lake views (or lagoon views) - but it would have to higher than 5 floor. - remember the wing is 3rd floor high and that equals 4th floors on BLT.

now there are some units that will face CR the entire time - hoping those will be standard view - because they won't be fair to call them anything else.

boy - did not answer the OP question

the MK view - will be any villa that evens gets a hint of the MK.

the ones facing the MK definitely - but some that would be consider (except they get the an angle view of MK) standard and bay lake.

of course if DVC is nice (yea that is gonna happen) -then only the ones facing the MK. not the ones with only a side view.

but like BW view - if you get any of it - it is consider a BW view and not just a preferred view.

forget the view that DVC models are showing is directly facing the MK - that is probably very, very few of the MK views.

of course hoping that I am wrong.

wow... looks like the 11 month window for MK view is getting smaller and smaller...:lmao:

Actually, BWV boardwalk view is where the "suits" apparently screwed up in favor of the members because every room that is a "boardwalk" view in fact has a full boardwalk view. The boardwalk view rooms are those over the main store on down to Jellyrolls, all of which are directly over the boardwalk. The ones with a partial view of the boardwalk along the village green are considered preferred garden view not boardwalk view. At MK, with only 20% of the rooms being MK view, it could be that it is only those with a clear MK view but I'll believe it when I see it and until then I have my doubts.

I would think that the MK view at BLT would be handled the same way.

Considering the high extra point cost for MK view, I would hope that such a view wouldn't require you to crane your neck while hanging off the corner of your balcony in order to see it!

The Contemporary also charges a premium for MK view rooms...anyone know how the rooms are designated there? Do all the MK view rooms there have a full view of the park? We had a Magic Kingdom view in the Contemporary tower several years ago, and it was definitely full view...not just a view of the MK, but also a panoramic view of whole lagoon and all the properties around it (I think we were on the 11th floor). It really was spectacular! :cloud9:

I know there is a perception of the suits always being greedy, but the "full view test" seems to be the case with view categories at other Disney resorts as well. For example, there are rooms at the Poly that have a bit of a view of the Lagoon, but they are designated as Garden View rooms not Lagoon View rooms, which I believe is because they do not have a full view of the lagoon.

I'd like to think they will continue to employ the "full view" standard when determining view categories for the rooms at BLT (and any other resorts, for that matter). But I guess only time will tell.

pretty sure at the CR- if you are facing the Parking lot in the tower - that is a mk view.

some of them are at a definitely angle to the MK.

now lagoon views they are pretty wonderful - but these are not direct view of the MK - direct to me standing directly infront and seeing it - not turning around and only seeing it to the side (which is what CR does)

please remember there are 11% standard - that is very, very few - some of these must be CR - because those are not MK or BL views.

60% is BL - so that will definitely include some of the ones facing the CR - but hopefully high enough up that you will not notice the CR.
