First let me say OMG was it hot in floridia for April.

So we stayed at BLT for one night before our cruise in a studio with a Magic Kingdom view. We had the best view ever, we could see the castle straight ahead.

This was our first time at BLT and we were certainly impressed with it's beauty and the structure and the wonderful pool area. The hotel staff was wonderful and even let us valet check our bikes for four days while we were on the cruise.

After the cruise spent three days in a one bedroom lake view on the right side (Contemporary hotel side) it was wonderful. My one bedroom apartment I lived in a couple years ago wasn't that big (maybe half the size).

From our room we could see the Epcot fireworks and the electrical parade on the water.

Only complaint:
1. I'm sure many people agree with me- wheres the wifi or could there be more than one plug for the internet in the room. I like to lie in bed and play games on the computer do my email check the Internet this is my relaxing. My brother goes to VT and when you are there it seems like they have free wifi you click on it and then you have to log in. Why can't one of the largest companies in the world offer this to guests?

2. Raccoons at the pool at night OMG they climb in and out of the garbage cans so be careful - the hotel didn't seem to care

3. Top of the world club - should be open to any DVC member staying at any resort, it is never busy up there ever...

4. There is no where to ride your bikes around the contemporary

Couple of things to note:
1. Yes the cupcakes at the Contemporary hotel are to die for and must be tried
2. They sell dole pineapple soft serve at the polyinesian hotel - also a must have treat pool hop over to that pool spend some time on the beach and get some ice cream. You get a cup for $4 and can fill it up as high as possible one time
3. If you go grocery shopping make sure to stop by the contemporary hotel and have the valet help with your food it's worth the couple of dollars tip espically if you buy cases of water or soda
4. Bring graham crackers and chocolate to the Bon fire to make s'mores they only provide marshmallows which are great but... Need I say it are better with chocolate
5. Dinner at Ohana's is worth it and very good only meal we ate on property the rest we made ourselves (except for some food we brought back from Miami)

I will post some pics when I can figure it out

Security. Quality. Control. Cost.

It is much easier to maintain security. In general, quality should be constant vs. wifi. Disney knows exactly which rooms are using the Internet; if it was all wifi, then it would be more of an issue with charging for Internet *per room* as opposed to per connection. DVC members get it free, but no one else does. And the cost of buying, maintaining, servicing and securing all those wifi hotspots would out-weigh the benefit, IMO.

Personally, I prefer hotels that have wired. I bring an Airport express and I can connect whenever and whatever device I want with my own, secure hotspot.

Thanks for the trip report. Didn't know that there was a bon fire, smores sound like alot of fun! Hope you can post your pics! I will check back. :)

Sounds like you had a nice time!! I always wondered if one could see the Epcot fireworks from the lakeview rooms. Now I know you can:goodvibes

Lol, tell me more about the cupcakes, where exactly in the Contemporary?

Cupcakes are in the CT's quick/counter serve place (next to Chef Mickey's). Totally blanking on the name right now.

There are 2 or 3 different varieties available.

Contempo Cafe, right outside Chef Mickey's.

To post pictures you have to use a host. I use photobucket. You upload the picture to them and they supply a url. When you create your post here, at the top of the box you will see a yellow icon that looks like a mountain with a postage stamp over it (
insertimage.gif
). That is the picture icon. Click that and paste in a url. Do this for each picture. When done click submit reply at the bottom like normal.

We love BLT and enjoy staying there. We haven't done the campfire yet but plan to do so this June. :)
