BLT standard or lake view?

We have 6 nights in a standard studio booked at BLT, but can't decide if we should go for the lake view?

Is the lake view worth the extra points?

I will compare this to my BWV stays......we've had Pool/Garden and liked it but them we had BW view and loved it. Last year we brought the inlaws and I got them a standard view. It was very nice and I think I may go that route during our next stay. So that being said, it all depends on how many points you'll save and what/when your net travel to Disney will be. I know this wasn't much help but if it were me it would be standard view or if I were to sludge at BLT it would be the MK view.....BLT owners should be able to be much clearer then this mess I'm writing. ;)

One thing to consider: all of the ground floor units at BLT are standard view.
So if you get a ground floor unit and want any privacy, you'll need to keep the curtains closed, and that can make the room pretty dark.

My experience at BLT: 1br lake view (twice, both high floor) - great view.
1br standard view (3rd floor) - not bad, if I could guarantee this room, I would book standard view again
studio standard view (ground floor) - didn't care for this room

We book SV to save the points since we are there in the summer and so far, we've been booking 2 bedrooms so the difference in points is decent. We just request not first floor and hope for the best.

If you have the points, though, LV has some great views but now, there will be SV rooms on floors 3 and 4 that used to be TPV so I think you have a better chance of having a SV room that is not so bad.

We had a lake view room last spring break and it was totally worth it IMO. We requested a higher floor on the north side (I forget now if it was odd # or even # room but somebody here will know) and we ended up not only being able to see the lake but also the MK and could see the fireworks from our balcony. Very cool. Our first night we arrived kinda late...ran down to grab some food to go and brought it back up to our room and sat down on the balcony to eat just as the fireworks started. Perfect way to start off the trip! I would gamble for that again.

We spent 9 nights in a LV studio this past September and loved it. We were on the 14th floor and had an awesome view of the Lake, CR, and the different park icons (SE, Tree of Life, and Tower of Terror...I know not a park icon but you know what I mean). The only one we didn't see was Cinderella's Castle, we could get a glimpse of Seven Seas Lagoon and Splash Mountain but I had to lean way over on my railing to do so. Mind you I only did that once since we were so high up, and it scared me after I did it. So to answer your question, yes I think LV rooms are definitely worth the extra points and I wouldn't hesitate to book that category again :goodvibes.

I'm so torn what to do, it's only an extra 12 points in total. If we go with the LV and its pretty rubbish we would be disappointed.

If you have a SV on the ground floor can you exit and lock the patio doors?

12 points to me is a no-brainer. We LOVED the lake view. Requested high floor even numbered room and got 1/2 lake and 1/2 MK view. Saw the boats tooling around, fireworks from our balcony, castle glowing...it was awesome.

I am curious about this too... We booked a week in November 2013 in a one bedroom standard view.. They didn't have a lake view available for all 7 nights so our only other option was to stay one night in a standard and then switch to a lake view which I thought would be a hassle so we just went for the standard view... I have heard to request a higher floor, I will be totally bummed out if we are on the ground floor....hoping it is more studios down there and not 1br, we are planning to get there early on check in day and just requesting the higher floors and keeping our fingers crossed.... Part of me wishes we secured the lake view for the 6 nights and just did the room switch :/

I just checked online and they had all my 6 nights available in a LV so I called ms and got it changed. ;) I requested a high floor, think I might add marina view?

I LOVE the lake view, but get SV if I can to save points. We don't have many points and don't spend a ton of time in the rooms. If you want the best view definitely ask for higher floor. Lots of people don't like the inner ring (odd # rooms) because you can see across into other villas and others can see you. Personally I don't mind this because we get a great view of the lake and the electric water parade.

If you request even numbered room and North side will see some of the park. Several of these (as pp stated) used to be classified as MKV but the view is obstructed by the monorail and the low level. These were reclassified for 2013

Marina view looks like a good bet, we didn't want to use points for a mk view as the lower floors have a good car park view! We stayed 14th floor CR when we got married so we're a little spoilt with that view.
