I was hoping that someone could help me with a room request for BLT. I did a search but could not find the exact request I needed to make. I do know I read a trip report about someone who's son had a monorail view.

I am taking a friend and her son who is on the Autism spectum. He loves the monorail and I would like to request a room with view of it. I do understand this is only a request.

What do I request to get a view of the monorail? I so far have a LV room booked. He is sensitive to noise but don't know if the fireworks are loud enough at BLT to cause problems.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

For a Lake View BLT room with a chance of a Monorail view, request an Even Numbered Room.

I agree that you would need to reserve the Magic Kingdom View in order to see the Monorail. Now I am not sure if the Bay Lake Views are any different at Bay Lake Tower, however at the Contemporary with their Tower - Bay Lake View you can not see the Monorail.

Fireworks are not loud in the room, especially with the patio door shut (in fact I can't really remember hearing them, but I was on the roof as much as possible during the shows).

However what IS loud is the electric water pageant, which rolls in about 10PM. Although not blaring with the doors shut, the sound is noticeable in a quiet room and can overwhelm the TV if the volume is low. This is the noisiest thing at BLT.

My boy is train crazy. We've visited the Strasburg RR, Western Maryland RR, and the B&O RR museum. His favorite book is a huge textbook-like encyclopedia of trains with pictures.

I hope he likes the monorail half as much as he does trains with our MK view next year. The monorail is a big part of the reason we bought into BLT. I think he'll be able to hear and see the MK trains too.

The LV rooms at BLT are indeed different than at the CR. There are plent of LV rooms on the outer edge of BLT and several of those will have a view of the monorail.

As mentioned, an even #'d room will give the OP the best chance to see it from the balcony.

If you want as close a look as you can then ask for a lower floor Theme park view (MK view)

Thanks everyone. I could not get a MK view when I changed at 7 months. I appreciate all the input. The little boy is train crazy so I will keep trying.

If yoiu end up without a view of the monorail from the room (you have a 70% chance at least of not having one with lakeview) you can always see them from the elevator area- and there are seats to sit on while watching.

You are so kind to consider these things. My second DS also loves the monorail, and also hates fireworks. The noise of the fireworks did not bother him, as long as we did not mention that it was fireworks.

I would make the even-numbered room request to MS, and mention the monorail view again when checking in (tell them why, you may get a little extra effort). But I wouldn't worry about it beyond that. There will be plenty of opportunities to see the monorail at BLT.

One thing I'll mention is that the gift shop at the Contemporary (as well as World of Disney in DTD) sells a model monorail that is awesome. My son could not live without it. It's not cheap, maybe $75, but it was a must-have for us, so you or she might want to budget for that. (On a later trip, I also saw a model Contemporary Resort add-on for the monorail to drive through, but I bought that for me. :rolleyes1 )

We had a lake view room on the outer crescent (even numbered) on the south side that was great for viewing the monorail...We were on the 8th floor...the water pagent view was great and while we could hear it, my 4 year old couldnt wake up to watch it ever! HA!

We could see the monorail starting from TTC and then coming all the way to the contemporary and then leaving the contemporary...not a great view of the ones coming from MK until they were right there, but it was still enough to satisfy my DS for 30 minutes every morning while we were getting ready!!

I dont think they get alot of requests for even numbered rooms on the SOUTH side...you should have good luck with that!

Have a wonderful trip!!

Our 2 year old son is also train crazy. When we made our first (ever) reservation (1BR LV), we requested a room on the south side where we could see the monorail. The CM put in the request and added a note that we'd like to see the monorail entering and exiting the CR. We're really hoping to get a clear view, but I was planning on reiterating the request at check-in. If all else fails, Grampy can take him to watch from the hallway. The again, if we get what we want, he may not want to leave the room!
