Is there a deadline to pay them? I see them online, but haven't gotten a written statement.

you should be getting a rwitten statement soon.
I got mine and they basically have dvided the total 2009 dues cost intoo 4 payments.

I called DVC to make sure that they would come out of direct deposit for me and they said they will on th 15 of each month or you could elect to pay the whole amount at once.

I still don't have any dues appearing online. I only own at BLT & VGC; anyone else with only one or both of those have dues appearing online yet?

disdad09 - Does your statement (or MS) say they will be taken out Sep. 15th, Oct., Nov., and Dec or are different months involved? How much does yours work out to per point for 2009?

TIA!

I am not showing anything either for my BLT contracts (I have two). I have talked to member accounting twice about the dues and they told me I would be billed in September and that the due date will be October.

We have one contract, which is a BLT contract with a February UY. We received a statement in the mail on 8/13/2009, which was dated 8/07/2009, for our prorated MF for 2009. The payment due date is 9/15/2009.

Since our UY is February, we are being billed a prorated amount of about 41%, which represents the 150 days from BLT's opening to the end of the year. Perhaps DVCers with later UYs are being billed later??

See my earlier thread, Post #1, regarding MF amounts: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2257119

Our experience just about exactly!

We set ourselves up for direct debit from our account when we did our paperwork, so it's just going to come out 9/15, 10/15, etc.

And yes, we can see our dues on our online account; could see them starting the same day, or night before, others mentioned they got their statements.

I have an August UY. Maybe they are being released in waves based on UY and that's why mine is running a little later than some people's... I also signed up for monthly dues payments, so I'm assuming our BLT ones will be debited Sept. 15th for the first time.

Not too important but I'm curious; will there be a separate debit for each contract (one for BLT & a second for VGC in our case) once both are open, or do they deduct dues in a single lump sum?

We bought in March, 2009 (February UY), and got our statement by mail about a week ago (we opted for one lump-sum payment). The due date is September 15th. I was actually pleasantly surprised when I saw how much we owed. I had done a rough calculation when we bought in and I was expecting to pay more for our MFs than was actually due. :thumbsup2

Our BLT dues aren't showing up online yet either. :confused3 We have an October use year.

The pro-rated dues begin on the later of: your purchase date, the start of your initial Use Year and the occupancy date of the Unit you purchased. I assume your occupancy date was either Sep 1 or Aug 4. With an October UY, I assume you did not get 2008 UY points since BLT just opened. So that makes Oct 1, 2009 the start date for your pro-rated dues. You should owe 92 days worth of dues for this year. Your payment will probably be due either mid Oct or maybe not until November. If you are paying monthly you will probably pay in two installments, one in Nov and one in Dec.

I thought someone asked what the prorated dues were per point- ours (Feb UY) come to just under $1.51 per point.

Mine showed up online about a week after I closed (April UY). I asked my guide when they were due, and she wasn't sure. So I just paid them with my Visa. I'm set up for auto deduction, but prefer to pay with my Visa most of the time.

Thanks so much, LisaS! Your explanation makes me feel better... I won't worry yet! ;)

With an Oct UY, you will only pay dues for Oct, Nov, and Dec. That was my original UY and then I switched and was told I would only pay for 3 months.

If you want to know the specific due date, you can call Member Accounting. They will tell you when you will be billed, the amount, and the due date.

To clarify one point in Lisa's explanation, IF the purchase date is applicable (it isn't for those that had previously bought BLT), it's the date you sign the papers, not the date of closing that determines when the dues are calculated.

Is it when you sign the papers or is it when you get the initial points? When I added on at VWL, I paid by credit card and had the points in my account 24 hours later. The paperwork didn't arrive for a week or so. I'm pretty sure my pro-rated dues began when I got the points in my account. Since I had the use of the points starting from that date it made sense that I would begin paying dues at that time.

My understanding is that it has always been from the date you signed the contract assuming you get the points for that time. If you signed and had the points in your account within 24 hours, it's the same thing. In the past they have not always been so quick about getting you the points and in some cases years ago, you might have given up the first years points to get a discount.

In my case I purchased an add-on at a sold out resort over the phone. I didn't sign anything for a week or more because the paperwork had to be sent to me. The dues started either the day I called (and paid the deposit via CC) or the following day when the points appeared in my account.

I haven not been mailed anything nor do I see anything online -- should I be concerned?? :confused3

BLT is our first purchase so I don't really know what to expect?
