Proof that Disney is not just for kids . In my 8 WDW trips we have never gone to this show until last time. Our group was 5 adults and this was our faces at the show did they really just say that . It was the topic of conversation for the whole day . I can't say we will go back for more just not worth the time but it made quite and impression on all of us.

I suppose you are correct in one sense...I have been seeing the show since I was a child.

But I can certainly see how it makes folks go, "huh?" in the modern era.

I'm sure I always thought that the songs in CBJ were written specifcally for the show by Disney, but that's not the case - at least not for most of the show. Given the context of variety shows of the era, the whole thing makes more sense.

I find it a particular hoot that the song, "If You Can't Bite Don't Growl" was a popular song before it was in the show. I can almost imagine the imagineers planning discussion, "Oh we HAVE to include that song!"

Agreed. I saw the show as a child, and I had no idea what the lyrics meant. I was more into the idea of talking, singing bears playing instruments!

If this comes to pass, it is one more step closer to my losing it. A group of self-rightious, humorless, political correct dictators will have once again taken over control of what we chose to see or hear. But, of course, they are right and they are only protecting us from ourselves, fools that we are.

As parents they don't have enough parenting ability to teach their snowflakes how to decern right from wrong. My children first saw that show when they were 7 and 9 years old. That was 30 years ago and they grew up to be strong, solid and productive members of our society. I wonder how that happened? Couldn't have been my influence, must have been Seseme Street.

I loved that show as a kid in the '90s. Didn't even remember the Big Al part of the show. I remembered the bear, but not his song. And I surely didn't pay attention to nor care about the wine in her glass. To me wine was just another drink for adults, the song had no connotations.

If your kid is at an age where they'll understand what's going on in that song, chances are you should probably have already had the alcohol talk with them.


Here's a real indicator of change, back in 1971 Country Bear Jamboree was an E-ticket attraction. Now you never even see the theatre full.

Seriously?? That's been part of my memories for so long!!! One of my dd's favorite things to sing to me!!! This is not going to be pretty if they take that away!!!!

Your reasoning is flawed. MK is a park geared to young children. The song is no more appropriate there than it would be on Sesame Street. My DH took DS to see Country Bears while the girls and I rode BTMR. Neither he nor DS enjoyed the show. It is time for a change.

I didn't say get rid of Pooh. There were legions of people waiting to get on that awful ride. It has huge sentimental value to some even though it is an awful ride by any measure.

Country Bears was a ghost town. No wait. No one even standing on the porch to get out of the sun. Don't need an analyst and a long term study to tell you there is something wrong when an air conditioned ride geared to young children has no line in July. C'est la vie. Things change.

Disturbing. DH and DS went to Country Bears while the girls and I went on Big Thunder Mtn. Beyond bizarre that this sound would be apart of a kiddie attraction! This kind of stuff is what keeps the Illuminati stuff going about Disney. The serpent symbol on the magic cards doesn't help squash the Illuminati talk.

I was shocked that Stitch was apart of the opening show! Stitch? Really?!!Old, violent cartoon. Why does he get top billing? Seems like Buzz or Woody would be apart of the opening.
