blood on the floor....

 Your bonnet must be full of bees since you ignored my statements. Again, it is all about money. Pooh, awful as it is, has strong sentimental value. Plus, there are always newbies who have no clue how bad it is. Country Bears on the other hand is not a big draw.

Basic marketing folks. Companies spend a great deal of time and money analyzing what sells and what doesn't. Disney won't get rid of One mans Dream because of the negative connotation associated with removing legacy of Walt. Country Bears isn't widely known outside of diehard Disney folks. Disney is free to change it with minimal backlash.

MK marketing is overwhelmingly geared towards young children so I can't believe that is even a point of contention.

Where exactly do you get your statistics from? The majority of visitors don't see CBJ? It isn't widely known? What is this based on? Yes, CBJ is silly, but I have never, ever in my life seen it any less than completely full.

As for those that are so offended by the mention of blood or wine? Please. Just stay home if you are going to suck the joy out of life for the rest of us.

i still want to know what's so wrong with the pooh ride? :confused3

The only thing wrong with the Pooh ride is it replaced the bes ride in Fantasyland, the one place in MK 'geared toward children,' This was Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. You boarded a car with a drunk driver, Mr. Toad, weaved all over town, got on the railroad tracks and went headon into a train, where you ended up in Hell with a bunch of devils. Now surely Disney got rid of this for PC reasons, right? Wrong!!! They got rid of it because you couldn't sell Toad stuff, so they put in Pooh so they could sell Pooh crap(is that redundant?) BTW they still have Mr. Toad at DL, a great reason for going there.
As for the wine in the song, it refers to what the ex will be drinking at the tavern. The line is tears will be the chaser to YOUR wine. She could be drinking Kool-Aid.

I understand the op's desire to protect her children but the reality is that we live in a very violent world. They will hear things at school and even daytime tv that are unsuitable. I was determined to not give my son toy guns until I saw him at age 2 shooting people with a wooden cross. DW is for everyone and just skip parts you don't enjoy.

How does anyone know how popular or unpopular either CBJ or Pooh are? It's presumptuous to assume that people feel the same way that you do. I think that the Pooh ride is cute and like I said earlier, I love Big Al. I'm not assuming that everyone else thinks like me though.

Bowing out of conversation. If you can't admit WDW is marketed towards young children, then okay. All those cutesy characters and princesses and the Disney channel are adult advertising? What is wrong with Disney being associated with children?:confused3

We were clueless enough to do pooh our first visit because we didn't know any better. I imagine the majority of first time visitors also get sucked into the pooh ride. Poor unfortunate souls! :rotfl2:

My individual opinion has no more bearing on Disney decisions than does yours. I was trying to provide some insight into how other guests view the attraction. Not everyone loves what you love. It isn't the end of the world that I dislike Pooh! More ride time for you!

I guess this is a really bad time to mention that I hated the GMR? :lmao:
There are many people that think WDW is geared towards children..you are not the first. But, here's the thing. My dd, now close to 19, has been going to WDW since she turned 6...celebrated that particular birthday at WDW. As a high school graduate, she and two of her best friends just spent a week in WDW...all by themselves....3 18 y/o's, having the time of their lives. Hardly children. And they saw plenty of characters..with subsequent photos.
I have been to WDW about 30+ times since that first visit back in '99. I have gone for multiple visits each year..and guess what??? I didn't always go with a child in tow!!! Every Dec, I meet a bunch of like minded adults and have a ball there. Most of my WDW trips are with no child...at least not a young child.
You will find many, many adults here that love going to WDW..alone, or with other adults.
WDW isn't marketed towards just children..but to 'kids of all ages'. Disney isn't stupid. There is a reason Disney movies do so well...they include 'adult' humor. When we say Cars 2, there were adults crying with laughter...their kids were just staring at them!!! These kids had no idea what was so funny. Disney knows that if adults are enjoying themselves, they'll keep going back...with or without kids.
