Blondie/Heart/Benatar/Joan Jett/Chrissie Hynde

Way to go ohio is Chrissie Hynde, shes from my city Akron, she has a place ehre dont know how often she stayed but there a cool little bar on the north side she frequents often

I can't believe it. I've been singing the wrong lyrics to this song. I always thought it was "Where'd you go Ohio". :)

I have a soft spot for the version of I Got You Babe by UB40 with Chrissie Hynde.

Me too.

I would have sworn on the bible. I looked up four sites because I refused to believe it. ;)

Oh believe me.....there was no getting me out of the car yesterday or today. I sent my husband to the casino this morning to gamble because I refused to walk in this cold weather. He won $5!!!! :woohoo:

BTW, did you eat at the Indian food place by the maze and upside down house?

Yes, behind Burger King where burgers probably cost $20, cause we're in LOONEY TOWN! :rotfl2:

$5 - total score. Could have bought you some samosas with that loot. :lmao:

And then you're in the man from Mars
You go out at night, eating cars
You eat Cadillacs, Lincolns too
Mercuries and Subarus
'

Love.

Someone here is in love with Ali Campbell. UB40's greatest plays in the car. Sing Our Own Song is perfection. And I enjoy Rat in the Kitchen..... and Many Rivers to Cross.

Well, the entire album.

I'm totally OT. :lmao:

Like we weren't at Clifton Hill and samosas and upside down houses. :lmao::rotfl::lmao::thumbsup2

Without searching back through this thread, I couldn't name one if I tried.:upsidedow

Really?

The Pretenders were so big when you were young, Gumbo. Middle of the Road, Back on the Chain Gang, Brass in Pocket.

I mean ------------ whoopsie :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2: when you were YOUNGER, Gumbo. :thumbsup2 ;)

Blonde- Picture This
Heart- Alone
Benatar- Hit Me With Your Best Shot
Joan Jett- I Love Rock and Roll
Pretenders- Brass in Pocket, but Back on the Chaingang is a close second

Come on home, girl
Mama cried on the phone
it's too soon to lose my baby and my girl shoukd be at home
But try to understand, try to understand
Try, try, try to understand
He's a magic man. . .

Not a Blondie or Chrissie fan.

But Heart: Never

Pat B.- We Belong

Joan Jett: Hate myself for loving you and if I could honorable mention for when she was in the Runaways: Cherry Bomb

How about Scandal with Patty Smyth or Berlin or Quarterflash with Rindy Ross? Dang it I loved the 80's.

I like Paramore, it's cool to have women as the lead in a group.

Recognize them now that they've been mentioned, but never cared for any of those songs.

brass in pocket was her biggest hit , cool song

Don't Get Me Wrong charted higher, as did Back on the Chain Gang. However, I think Brass in Pocket is a better song and really the signature song for Chrissie Hynde.

Enjoy:

Blondie, 1979: Band at their peak, absolutely killer live performance of Dreaming. This video encapsulates the paradigm of new wave.

Heart, 1977: Amazing live performance of Crazy on You

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gpNqB4dnT4

Pat Benatar, 1983: Striking live performance of Hell is For Children

Joan Jett, 1988. The only MTV style video in this selection: promo vid for I Hate Myself For Lovin' You. Included because it is a compilation of live performances that capture her at her absolute peak.

Chrissie Hynde, 1995: Awesome live cover of Neil Young's The Damage Done

Blondie: Call Me
Heart: Magic Man
Pat Benatar: We Belong
Chrissie Hynde: Back on the Chain Gang with the Pretenders

But none of these ladies are my favorite rockers. Give me Stevie Nicks any day!

Love Stevie! Saw her at Jones Beach a couple of times.

Saw Debbie Harry at the house of blues in atlantic city 3 years ago. the show was great! but what really amazed me is at the encore she came out in a white tank top and shorts and looked terrific! i couldnt believe she was 65 years old at the time!
