Blizzard Beach at 55 degrees

Thanks for sharing that! I'd wondered if anyone went to the water parks when it was that cold, and I enjoyed the pictures.

55 degrees!! I would have been swimming away....the high for today was 12 degrees, 2 degrees with the wind chill....

Wow.
I always laugh at how Floridians bundle up when the temp gets lower than 60 degrees, i.e. the lifeguard there. To me, 55 is balmy now!!! (Yes, it's 11 degrees here. I'd give my right arm for 55.)

LOL we are here now and the kids all went swimming at Caribbean Beach today! I was wearing long sleeves, a fleece jacket and my winter thinsulate coat! My husband wore shorts all day at the soccer tournament at WWS because he "had" to since he was in Florida...:rotfl2:

55 definitely sounds balmy to me right now too, but I still don't think I'd be in that water. Brrrr...

I couldn't help thinking about how much it was costing Disney to keep the place open. There were clearly more cast members than guests and bus after empty bus kept rolling in and out of the parking lot.

There were more cast members than guests. hehe. I bet all of the people there that day were from up north. Swimming in 55 degree weather is a heat wave to us ;)

As a fellow canuck and one that did the New Years Polar bear swim; and empty park at 55 would be awesome!

CupidsKiss, if you look closely at the pics you'll see that the chairlifts are completely empty and there's no one on the stairs to Summit Plummet. If the cold didn't bother you, it was a great day to go. I did ask a couple of people where they were from: England and Canada.

John

LOL no lines, no waiting!!
Those are pretty cool pictures. I am not sure if I would have been there at 55 degrees...and its snowing and 18 where I am right now.
However...how warm is the water? That may make a difference!!

I'm shocked they were even allowed to stay open at that temperature. I lifeguarded for many, many years and I want to say 60 degrees was the temp we had to close the pool because it was too cold. Yikes! I would hate to have to make a save as a lifeguard that day!

I laugh too at Floridians all bundled up in 55 degrees.:lmao:
55 is t shirt weather!!!:rotfl2:

Looks like a great day at the park, and thanks for posting the pics. I have been dying to see some good ones of BB.:thumbsup2
whats funny is that the couple of kids in the pics, must have just been in heaven having that entire park to themselves... good for them!

I am from up north and have been going through -30 before wind chill weather, so yes...55 degrees seems as it would be swimming weather. I remember back to my outdoor swimming lesson rule "if it's below 60 swimming lessons are canceled"...I think it would seem warm...but I don't know if I'd let my kids swim when it was below 60...only because it seems so cold when you get out!

Those Floridians in 55 degrees were dressed the way we were up here the other day when it was -12 degrees. :rotfl2:

55 degrees and I would be very comfortable. However, I don't think I'd be jumping in any water though. ;)

I'm pretty sure WDW heats all of their pools.

20 felt marvelous after the negative temps we've had. I imagine 55 would be glorious. My MIL called from Florida yesterday complaining about the temps. I nearly hung up on her:rotfl:

I've been to the water parks when it was 62 degrees but I don't know about 55 degrees.

Thanks for the pics, It looks like you have the park to yourself if it around 55 degrees

My dad is from FL, and was complaining that he had a cold because of the cold weather. He had to turn on the heat, he says!

Those pictures are amazing, though. I wouldn't go swimming in 55 degree weather, either, but it would probably feel pretty comfortable for touring the parks. No water rides though!

I'm hoping for 65-70 degree weather when I travel in about 3 weeks.

I'm really surprised they kept it open! A few trips ago (maybe 2002?) we went to BB & it was 65. We were fine (we're Canadian, eh!), and the water was like heaven.

At 1:00 they closed the park: there were less than 100 guests, and they said they couldn't keep the water at 80, so they had to close. On the way out we got free passes to come back to BB any time. It was win-win for us because we'd already had a great time, and felt like we had the park to ourselves, and we got to go back for free on another trip.

Those pics look like less than 50 people in the park!!
