Blackhawks Parade

You do have to financially support the team. Even those people who don't buy the tickets are still paying for stuff at the games. I mean is it really that hard to understand? I mean seriously? How many times are you going to ask me the same questions?

We've been to games before and not spent a dime once in the gate. Guess that means that we're not real fans in your eyes. :confused3

Again, just curious but how many years have you had your tickets?

Just talked to my son; he's catching the 3:30 train (he said the 2:30 train had no room left on it). I'm not looking forward to that ride home at 4:30 myself. I'm hoping the Cubs/Sox has another rain delay. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

The Milwaukee West line has an express (Bensenville then all points west) leaving at 3:25 in addition to the regular 3:30. Maybe that'll help my commute!!!

That's my line. I'm sneaking out early and catching the 4:20 (I normally take the 4:55). Good luck to both of us.

7 years, you?

I find it hard to believe you didn't spend a dime at the gate? No drinks? No snacks? No parking fees? I'm gonna have to call B.S. on that one.

And even those people who do not attend the games financially support their team by purchasing things at their local stores. And ya do realize the Hawks organization probably makes more money off of merchandise, right? They only have a set number of seats and a set number of games per year to sell. On the other hand, they can mass produce licensed goods and sell them year round, all across the United States.

Once again, I don't care about merchandise. Real fans go to the games. Simple statement. I even joked with my fellow co-workers about it. I asked them "how many of those people do you actually think have been to a Hawks game?" And they all laughed and said about 10%. They're a bunch of wannabees.

Real fans go to parades honoring their team! :rotfl: Simple statement. Just as ridiculous as yours. :thumbsup2

And I think you are full of it. Simple statement.

Seams like you've only been a fan for 7 years then.

As for spending the money. Nope. I didn't spend my $8 on a pizza and pop. I bought a shirt to wear to the game instead. ;) As a matter of fact, I didn't pay for the ticket either.

You do know that the Blackhawks don't own the parking lots and the food vendors don't you?

I was born and raised two blocks from Midway airport, my Dad gambled on every Chicago team, when I was a kid. He won some and lost alot. I have not lived in the states for over 12 year but that doesn't make me any less proud of any Chicago team whether it be the Sox, Cubs, Blackhawks or Bears! I am going to request that the Mods lock this thread as it is becoming ugly!! Once again, as someone who is a fan from afar, I wish all my hometown teams the best!

Nothing about $$ spent at the gate.

Don't let it bother you. Most of us agree with you. I think that someone else might be a little jealous that they didn't get "season ticket seats" that were up close and personal for the parade today. ;) For $10,000, they probably think that they deserve some special treatment.

Good job lovesmurfs. I've not been to a Bears game in over 20 years or a Bulls game since Michael Jordan left. I've never gone to a Blackhawks game. I go to a Cubs game once a year. I've never been to a Sox game and never will (not a fan; North sider for life). This does NOT mean I am not a fan. We choose to watch the games on television or with friends and not deal with some of the obnoxious people that do go to the games or the people who can't sit in their seats for more than 20 minutes because they need to get up and get another beer, food, or whatever.

Just because a person does not personally go to a game does not mean they are LESS a fan than someone who has season tickets or goes to a third of the games, etc.

A true fan supports their team in the way that suits them the best (be it at a bar, in front of their own television, listening on the radio while driving to a function for their own kid, etc.).

So how was the parade? I bet it was awesome. Congrats to the Hawks for winning the cup! Now if only the Mets can win the World Series again!

I completely agree. Even the part about not being a Sox fan. I did however go to a few games when I was in elementary school. Not because I was a fan but because I got free tickets for straight A's and prefect attendance. ;)
