Downtown today just is not the place to be. Also the Crosstown Classic today! I am glad school ended for you yesterday too. :)

AND BLUES FEST! AND PRINTER'S ROW LIT FEST!

It's people soup out there. People soup.

But I welcome them all with open arms and encourage them to buy their popcorn at Garrets, buy their drinks at the 7-11 and Dominicks, and keep that money flowing. I'm a real fan of them! Spend, baby, spend!

I thought that $100 was for 2? What about if your ride your bike or walk so that you don't have to pay for parking, eat before you go and go by yourself. Are you not a fan?

I could purchase a sweatshirt and sit in my family room cheering my team on and contribute more to the team than the real fan that buys a ticket.
:thumbsup2

Bottomline is and my original statement stands.. those who do not go to games are not real fans.

What if you went to a game but didn't actually pay for the tickets? Hmmmmm I guess you're not a real fan. What if you bought discounted tickets? Nope not a real fan. What if you've been watching the Hawks for 60+ years but refuse to pay the prices at the stadium because your old like my dad? Nope not a real fan.

But if you are a yuppy with disposable income but no knowledge of the game and bought season tickets because it's the in thing to do and all your friends and co-workers have them.....Yep real fan. :rotfl:

Why can't you just be happy that your team won the cup? Really...this is such immature logic! There's people like you talking about the "true" fans and then you have a player like Adam Burish talking trash when he really should be happy about winning The Cup and not cheapening a moment that some wait a lifetime for! Congrats to the Blackhawks! I will forever be proud of "my" Flyers for what they accomplished! I've been a fan for 25 years, but I didn't make it to a single game this year, but that didn't make me any less of a fan!

that this would not turn into a knock down drag out fight but clearly it has. There is no definition for a fan, there is no right and wrong way to support a team. Once again, congrats to the Blackhawks for making it this far.....

This :thumbsup2

To the OP, I am sorry for letting this get to me. It is just that I know how much it bothers my nephew that he was not able to go to any games this season, and missed all of the playoff games on TV. He is the biggest Hawks fan I know, and if he had come home this morning, he has every right to have been at that rally celebrating.

:rotfl: I hope to hear the phrase "people soup" on the news tonight! :thumbsup2

Yep. Went out for lunch today and it's just a madhouse. Hate to think of the train station at 4:00....:crowded:

Just to be sure, you're saying that it really has NOTHING to do with financially supporting the team as you previously said but you only have to attend the games to be a fan, right?

:confused3

Just talked to my son; he's catching the 3:30 train (he said the 2:30 train had no room left on it). I'm not looking forward to that ride home at 4:30 myself. I'm hoping the Cubs/Sox has another rain delay. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

You do have to financially support the team. Even those people who don't buy the tickets are still paying for stuff at the games. I mean is it really that hard to understand? I mean seriously? How many times are you going to ask me the same questions?

Yes. I didn't say you had to attend all 41 home games. I said you had to go to a game, and no doubt he did.

Thanks for playing hun. :thumbsup2

How do you know? Maybe he/she went only to impress clients and have a tax write-off, not because he/she is a fan of the Blackhawks.

But what if he doesn't have season tickets, but instead bought these tickets knowing they would be a gift for someone else? And he never goes to games. Because it is his money, he is still a fan?
