maybe it depends what you are looking for (tv/computer for me) but NOTHING is that good of a deal. all of the laptops ar eusing outdated processors or crappy brands.. the tv's are outdated plasmas.. and i did some cross reference on ebay and the blakc friday deals were about $50 less

I'm a fan of HP, but I have'nt seen an over the top "good" laptop (maybe im just too techy?). In my area (south florida) there are brand new HP laptops for $375-$450 yr round that are comparable to those in the black friday deal.

like I said, it's all on an individual basis. With the new LED tv's coming out, and the 3d tv's and so forth, plasma is a thing of the past.. LCD is to led, what plasma used to be to lcd

Very true, I'm not the type who needs to constantly have the latest and greatest. I don't see the point in upgrading every few years in order to.

Some of you are so organized! I plan to be at Target about an hour before they open but I'm not going after any big electronic items. Then I'm going to Best Buy and hope to get in just after they open. My goal is video games and I hope that they have plenty of those!

Type in Wii System. I had the same issue with XBox, I was looking for the system and got a list of games.

Thursday:
KMart (opens 6 am)
Beatles Rock Band
Christmas tree craft kit

then CVS for their freebies.

then Walgreens for their freebies.

then Michaels for a few things for me!

looks like this is my plan of attack:

try to get sharp blu-ray player at walgreens on thanksgiving day.
try on lei jeans at wal-mart tomorrow, then buy online at 11:00 pm CT thanksgiving night (sale starts at midnight).
buy items online at wal-mart.com at 2:00 am CT, then go back to bed until 6:00 am CT.
leave for birmingham at 6:30 am CT, stopping by sears for dvd/vcr combo for DILs at 7:00 am.
get to woodcraft store in birmingham by 9:00 am CT, so that DH can get what he wants for Christmas, then on to the harbor freight store.
wander around birmingham, checking out different stores and picking up deals along the way. eat lunch at cracker barrel on the way home.

Ah, I thought everyone knew that . I tried to tell the people in the (fairly long) line at Walmart a couple of weeks ago, but who's going to listen to me? Even my boss thought I didn't know anything about technology I'm a dumpy, middle-aged female with gray roots. I thought that poster was referring to brands in which I'm interested.

Yea. I'm not sure about brands. Most ads I've seen are for major brands like hp, dell, etc. And we've owned almost all of them in our homes and found that a cheap computer is a cheap computer and an expensive one is an expensive one - it's not the brand, it's the components. (in my opinion)

What are you looking for in a digital camera? I love my Nikon DSLR but not sure Nikon has the best point & shoot cameras.

I need help too! If you know alot about digi cameras!! I need something for my DS7 and DD11. I was looking at the Kodaks at WM and Target (I think) or I saw a Canon somewhere but it was a little more. I know Canon makes a good camera...........but my biggest concern is blurry pics. Help.....

Oh and I think you are right about the Nikon point and shoots. At least by the reviews I have been reading!

For example, I refuse to ever buy an HP after running into issues with them selling systems with inadequate power supplies to even meet minimum requirements for the rest of the components. However, how many people look at what the power source is? Very few. Most people are worried about memory and hard drive space... but there is so much more to getting even a decent computer.

So give me a mini course! What do I need to look for in the power source?
