I have very long hair, and from our very first date, DH has always said "You have such soft & silky hair", so sftnslky was born. :lovestruc

I have been trying to eat healthier and not eat to late at night, so this week I have lost a total of 4 pounds. I have to admit I am OVERWHELMED with the amount of post, and I just don't have time to read them all, but I do scan most of them. Hope you all have a great week. Big Bue Team :grouphug:

Attention Blue Team!

We are going to have a Question Of The Day (QOTD). We are going to run them Mon-Fri. It was decided that all the teams would have the same QOTD, provided by the captains and co-captains. This weeks questions are provided by yours truly!:thumbsup2 These are not meant to stress you out, you don't have to answer them if you don't want you, they are JUST FOR FUN!!!! I hope you don't mind, but I am posting it early, because I KNOW I won't get up early before work to get them posted and I hate for them not to be posted untill the end of the day. Soooo, for MONDAY:

Tell us about your DIS screen name

My screen name isn't too creative. My name is Leanne but most of my family calls me Lea (pronounced Lee) and I am the mom to 2 princesses.

As for my mini challenge I have to get some exercise in. I work for 10-12 hours a day but I spend that time sitting in my office. :headache: I would like to get 10,000 steps in at least 3 times this week. I bought my pedometer on Saturday night. We went to the zoo yesterday so I got my steps in. I just need to do it two more times!

I didn't do very well yesteday with food. My DH decided to stop at Olive Garden for dinner. I just couldn't turn away from the Chicken Parm-I only get Olive Garden like twice a year. :confused3 I'm back on the wagon as of this morning but we have two birthday parties this week...maybe I better walk everyday this week:rotfl2:

Hi all!

Sorry to have abandoned you for the weekend but it was the 3d Annual Ladies Beach Weekend. Basically a bunch of moms I know through Scouting get together once a year, leave the hubby and kids home, and spend the weekend at the beach. It was fun and relaxing. I didn't really watch what I ate but I worked on portion control issues. And guess what.... came back and weighed myself on that same scale and was 3 lbs down! Woot!!!!

Thanks y'all for all the encouragement!!!!!

Vija, I'm in for the challenge but I'll have to go dig up what it was I was going to challenge myself about.

Remember those Comcast On Demand workouts I told you I'd found? Found one this morning from Bob, the Biggest Loser trainer guy. Boy, did he ever kick my butt!!! But it felt great afterwards just knowing I'd gotten through another one!!!

Gotta run... am at work. Just wanted to check in and let you know I haven't dropped off the face of the earth!

My username is a nickname my hubby has for me.
One day I was in the kitchen and he came in and shouted Babe and I went what did you call me and he said what do you think and I said Bellybee and it stuck.

His nickname is monkey and on our wedding cake we had a bee and a monkey.

I have done well today I resisted chocolate all day and will be treating myself with a mars bar later on. I have had my 8 glasses of water.
Todays menu was:

Breakfast - Homemade blueberry muffin and tea
Morning snack - Homemade carrot cake and tea
Lunch - Pasta Salad with Chicken and a lasting satisfaction yogurt
Afternoon Snack - Cheese snack a jacks with mini babybell cheese and a banana
Dinner - Egg Fried rice with Hoi Sin Pork and Beansprouts
Evening Snack - Mars Bar chocolate bar

I am really proud of myself for sticking to my calories and resisting chocolate.

This may not sound much to some but it is an acheivement for me normally at work I eat between 3-5 bars of choc a day or at home one family size bar.

At work I won a chocolate bar for going the extra mile and I have put it in my fridge later I will break it up into healthy amounts.

Briarmom - I hope you start feeling better soon...crunches are a great way to help your abs...have you ever used an exercise ball while doing them?

Thanks. I hope so too!
I do have an exercise ball! It needs some air, but it's good enough to use for reverse type crunches. You know, when you put the ball between your calves and kick it back but don't let it go all the way back down? Those are hard!
I got 100 crunches in, but couldn't do 100 of those, only 30. So I will continue to do that as my mini.:thumbsup2

I am so so very jealous, and not about the weight loss.;) :rotfl: I need a girls weekend so badly.

I just finished my second 45 minute treadmill. I've been writing everything down as I eat and it seems that I need a some more calories for the day...I guess I'll do another 100 cal popcorn.

Just a little tip for anyone that is struggling to eat all there calories rather than fill up with naughty snacks like I do have a glass of juice a large glass can be about 200 cals. I know we often struggle to stay under calories but we must make sure we are eating them all too.

Ok first I must say I HATE my screen name!! I signed up for the Dis boards before really thinking through the fact that I would be referred to by my screen name. I know, duh, but this is my first and only forum board. Anyway, I signed up with the same user name I use for all of my other web sites(shopping, library, etc.) My first name is Christine, my maiden name was Jackson and my married name is Earl=cjackearl I so wish I had a Disneyfied one now!!

Hello Blue Team! Its Sunday night and i figure if i check in about my great day then i wont eat anything else before bed time!! A few things:

My name is Melissa and my screen name is moredisneyplease. I think its rather self explanatory! I can't get enough Disney!! I'm at DL (socal resident) all of the time and i'm at WDW about every 9 months. I work hard for my money so I can feed my Disney and DVC habit! I guess its better than money going towards drugs, booze, or cigarettes, right?/ ;)

So my Sunday didnt pose nearly as many challenges as the last few days! It was easy to journal on day 5 of journaling, the family did a nice bike ride, and I said NO to McDonalds fries and just got a grilled chicken wrap w/ BBQ! Hopefully my Tuesday at Disneyland will be just as easy!!

I love your screen name, and that is pretty funny & clever about posting early so you don't cheat at night! day 5 of journaling!!! Fantastic!

Yes and no. I make a lot of the food so I see exactly what goes into it. That makes it easier to make healthy choices. We're also starting to carry some healthier items. Like today, I had a roasted chicken leg, carrots, and green beans. It smells good so it makes me hungry, but having to do the dishes at the end of the day kind of cures any craving I have for the food. :rotfl:

Here's a cooking tip for my fellow Blue Team members: if you want to add flavor without blowing your calories out o the water, cook your food in a reduced fat chicken broth. I use this to add flavor to rice and cous cous.

OH, that would make a difference seeing what goes into things. I remember reading one of those question books, and in it a question was posed... Would you eat the individual contents of a hot dog for a million bucks... made me think "NO WAY!":rotfl:
Great idea for the food tip.:thumbsup2

I picked my screen name because I am always dreaming up new trips and vacations to take and making plans for the future. :goodvibes

Hmm, me too! I love dreaming about the future.

Morning....

QOTD- My screen name is my name Diana + TLOL (The Labor of Love) and old website I used to post on years ago. They closed it due to trouble and stalkers etc. I just kept the ending.

I got my Oriental Lillies planted yesterday, ended up with a huge blister on my hand DUH, forgot the gloves! Now I just have a few other flowers to plant.

Oh, that is scary with stalkers. Take care of that blister.

The weekend went pretty well, controlled eating, went to the grocery store, read labels and picked up lots of frest fruits and veggies too. Got all my water in over the weekend too.

Question of the Day - Nothing shocking or exciting ;) My name is Tammy and I'm from NC:thumbsup2

Doing great on the eating, way to go!
My cold has moved into my lungs and my nose is running like crazy.
I got a 45 minute workout in this morning.:thumbsup2

I still can't decide on a mini-challenge. I'd like to do something with my abs...any suggestions? Maybe 100 crunches per day?

How did I get my user name? It's not very creative, I must say. I'm a mom with a child named...Briar. That's it.

I have never heard of Briar for a child's name, I think it is very nice. Wow, you are very commited, having a cold and still getting in the exercise! Super!:thumbsup2

:lmao: Well mine is pretty simple...it's my name.

Briarmom - I hope you start feeling better soon...crunches are a great way to help your abs...have you ever used an exercise ball while doing them?

So far my mini challenge is going great I exercised yesterday and today.

Great job on the mini challenge.

Quick Wkend update: did not do well at all. Went to visit my daughter at college on Saturday (first time seeing her since mid-August). Had a great day but did not make good choices. Sunday was no better. So my challenge this week is to get right back on track and stay there! And drink lots more water since it's the week of the month I tend to gain-so there's always that challenge too!

Question of the day: My name is Linda...when my husband and I started dating, he said my eyes sparkled when he looked at me so he started calling me Sparky --when I first created a screenname for email I couldn't think of anything creative so I used that. The 47 is my birth date (April 7).

OH, I think your username is romantic! And I bet you will get right back on track!

Hi Everyone,

I need to figure out how to make time to get on here during the weekends. You all post like crazy.

Mini Challenge - My mini challenge is to do at least 30 minutes of Cardio everyday.

User Name- Not very original. It's my name + Mouse.

This is a very active thread! I hope you can get on on weekends, the support from the blue team is fantastic!

Congrats to all the losers this week! I lost 5 lbs by maintaining my 3 60 min workout routine AND watching what I eat (imagine that!). I'm not following a diet, per se, but I do try to limit the junk that goes in my mouth.
5 lbs makes me wonder just how much junk I've been shoveling in!:confused3

My challenge this week will be to go 4 days to the gym and try a new class on that 4th day.

My screen name is Silly Andi- My family called me Andie growing up and when I signed up for aol 20 years ago that was the "suggested" name they offered for me so I took it and I use it for every board I am on! I guess I am kinda silly too, so that helps?!

5# LOSSS!!!! THat is fantastic! Isn't it amazing how much junk food can affect our weight? It's a love hate relationship for sure.

My user name comes from a cat I had a few years ago. His name was Hobbes, but sometimes I would call him Hobbester. He was the first cat that my DH and I had together, he lived until he was 10, but then started to have health issues.

I was wondering about your name! LOVE where all the names come from.

Well, my screen name is pretty self explanatory. Eeyore is my favorite character (although Belle is a close second.) He is cute, and your heart just goes out to him. He doesn't smile often, but when he does it really lights up a room! I also love butterflies, and Eeyore is frequently associated with butterflies. Butterflies are amazing- you start out with a catepillar. Some people think they are ugly, others (like me) think they are cute. They are limited by their bodies, then they build a cocoon. They emerge as a butterfly- something regarded as beautiful and wondrous throughout the world. They are a symbol of beauty and transformation.

I love caterpillars and buttlerflies. They are so beautiful. It amazes me that the monarch knows just where to go in Mexico without having ever been there. :butterfly

Ahhh, another romantic dis name! You are doing great with the weight loss! And please don't worry about so many posts, do what you can, and just remember to post and keep us updated. That is the most important thing.
My screen name isn't too creative. My name is Leanne but most of my family calls me Lea (pronounced Lee) and I am the mom to 2 princesses.

Just jump right back on that wagon! You'll be fine. And walking everyday will be a great thing to help you stay motivated and feel great.

Hi all!

Oh, a ladies beach weekend sounds absolutely heavenly. So glad to hear you had a great time. So much of what our struggles are, are portion control, sounds like you are right on!:thumbsup2

THat is sooooo great about your wedding cake!!!! I LOVE IT. I think you are doing awesome with 1 candy bar a day, I totally get it and understand your achievement. Be proud of yoursefl. You deserve it.

Ok first I must say I HATE my screen name!! I signed up for the Dis boards before really thinking through the fact that I would be referred to by my screen name. Me too, I wish I had taken the time to think of something really clever. I was just too impatient to post a question here.

Just a little tip for anyone that is struggling to eat all there calories rather than fill up with naughty snacks like I do have a glass of juice a large glass can be about 200 cals. I know we often struggle to stay under calories but we must make sure we are eating them all too.

Oh, you are sooo right! It is very important to get all the calories in, because otherwise fatigue sets in and that doesn't help anyone.

I'm checking in. I am so proud of myself for resisting "real" chips. DH made burgers for dinner and I got the baked ones out. had my serving and that was it. In fact sitting right here in front of me by the computer is a bag of regular chips that I am NOT having. Very proud of myself!:goodvibes

Bad news about DD, she has strep throat. I hate when they are sick and I can't be there. I really need to go to work tomorrow. I only have 2 weeks left of orientation and really need every day I can get. I just wish I could be home with her. DH is staying home with her (I hope, he is contacting his boss right now). I just wish it was me staying home with her. :guilty:

And my name.... well, I was very impatient to start posting and all the names I was coming up with were already in use. I looked around my home for inspiration and saw the address labels my friend made for me. She is a Disney fan too and created Princess Vija labels. (Vija is my first name, rhymes with Tia). So I went with that. I wish I had created something more clever. But I have to admit I love it when people reply to my posts and start with "Princess," princess: :rotfl:

Princess,

Thanks for all the encouragement! We are sooo lucky to have such a great team leader!

I just worked out again!!! And I was pretty good at lunch. I had half a cuban and the rice/beans side they have. Don't know if it was lo-cal but I felt pretty good about the fact that I brought the other half of the Cuban back to the office. Ate it later when I was hungry... but again, I'm first learning not to wolf down everything on the plate.

And I felt so good about myself I came home and worked out again!!!!! Ahhhh... now it's time for a bit of dinner and relaxing on the computer hanging out with my friends (you guys!!!).

I had a horrible, stressful day today...ugh. Normally, I would have been stress-eating like crazy, shoveling 100-calorie snack packs and vending machine goodies in my mouth all afternoon. But no-o-oooo, not me. :cool1:

I realized tonight that I totally resisted the stress-eating all day today... woo hoo! That's a HUGE deal for me, and I was so surprised that I was able to resist so much easier today. I know it's because I'm not just accountable to myself these days, but to my awesome, rockin' blue teammates.

Thanks for being there for me this afternoon. You may not have realized it, but you had such a wonderful impact on my day! :flower3:

Oh, almost forgot... my real name is June, but when my closest friends have always called me Junebug. And I'm from Tennessee. So, it's not too clever or original, but that's where the screen name came from.

Good luck to everyone for tomorrow!
June

I will update our mini challenge list probably tomorrow night... And now for some more fun!

Tuesday QOTD:

Name Something you like about yourself

It can be a physical attribute, it can be a personality attribute, social skills, etc. AND HECK, if you like a lot of things about yourself... name them all! If you don't pat yourself on the back, who will??? Time to strut, and show off a bit! We don't do that enough, so have at it, tell us all!

I had a really good day in terms of hte mini challenge. At lunch and dinner i was so tempted to have Mountain Dew, but I held out and had water and tea respectively. Mountain Dew has always been my weakness. Every year I try to give it up for Lent, and every year I end up falling off hte wagon about halfway through. :rotfl:

ETA: Vija, I realize I never answered your second question. CP is College Program. I have done three: One in Fantasyland Attractions and two in Entertainment. There's some pictuers in my WISH Journal.

Question 2 is a toughy for me as i often think I dont like anything about myself.

Anyway the thing I like about myself is my sense of humour, silly things make me laugh and sometimes I can be quite quick and make others laugh and i like that.

Start of Day 3 for me. I have logged all of the previous days. Just gonna get lunch (last nights dinner) out of the fridge and have some breakfast.
Be back later.

junebugTN - way to go on resisting the stress eating!!! :yay:  :cool1: :woohoo:

Eeyores Butterfly - I'm trying to encourage my kids (they're 15 and 13 now) to do the college program when they're in college. It seems to me that this would be a good start to their professional career to be "brainwashed" with the Disney way of doing things becuase their customer service is really part of what sets them apart. Did you find that all levels of employees got that same customer service training? I mean, if they end up in a janitorial position (whatever the Disney name for it is) would they still get that type of training? I just think that would be a great thing to have at the start of their professional career. And you worked in Entertainment? What'd you do? That sounds like so much fun!!!

Oops.. went back to the week 1 thread and found the minichallenge and it's just as I thought. The thing I was eliminating was exactly what I did last night -- munching in bed. At least I only brought a cupful of peanuts to bed with me instead of the whole can. But I messed up the minichallenge. I'm still gonna hit it the rest of the week thought and I'm for sure going to have only the one hamburger this week (which is a major change for me). I think I'll have that on Friday so that I can 1) look forward to it as a treat for being good and 2) have it after the weigh-in!!! :rotfl2:

QOTD (Mon): Forgot the origin of my name -- You've heard of the Type A personality, right? Well, I'm about a type AAA. I've always been a go-go-go person. You wouldn't think someone with as much going on as me would get this large but most of what I do is on the computer. Anyway... when I became a mom 15 years ago, the name just seemed to come to me. And the beauty of it is that seldom is the name taken on any board or anything.

QOTD (Tue): Something I like about myself, huh? Well, I like the fact that I can usually find the answer to any question. I'm a not half bad researcher and that's helped me out so many times in my job. I like the fact that I'm gregarious and it's very easy for me to talk to people. I like how I can kind of take charge of any situation (others may not like that but you asked what I liked about myself). And I like how I can usually make just about anything I want to happen -- and this time it's gonna be this weight loss thing!!!

QOTD 2 - WOW, I had a really hard time with this one...it isn't something that I typically think about or say. After a long time just sitting here staring at the computer screen, I think I can now answer the question. I like that I am pretty even tempered. I usually don't get angry, stressed or irritated too easily.

QOTD2: What do I like about myself?

I like my sense of humor and I like that I believe in myself enough to think that I can do anything I put my mind to.

Have a great day everyone! Go Blue! :cool1:

Tuesday QOTD:

Name Something you like about yourself

I like that I am tall. I'm 5'7, so it's pretty easy for me to hide a little extra weight. I also like my skin and hair color. I'm a mutt - part Irish, German and Cherokee - all of which show through at any time. Sometime my hair is red, other time's its black. Sometimes I'm tan, other times I'm covered in freckles.

I bought the Biggest Loser Workout-Cardio DVD last night at Target. I can't wait to get home today to try it out!!

Talk to you all soon!

Sabrina
