My mini challenge will be to get 30 minutes exercise 5 days this week...this is my biggest struggle - amking the time for consisitent exercise. :)

So I was down 4 pounds on Friday. I kept forgetting to post here. Since I am now moving around I think stuff will come off quick. As I was not walking for a period of time.

I need to cut out the extra snacking of whatever I feel like. This is outside of allotted snacks.

I also hope to start exercising again soon. I am supposed to stop wearing the boot on Wednesday. We shall see how it goes. I have to go back to the doctor and have an x-ray in 4 weeks.

Congrats to those of you who lost. If you stayed the same it is better then gaining. If you gained, remember good things take time. Just keep making healthy choices.

Updated Mini challenge participants:

I'll keep adding to the list as people join in!

AND if I missed your personal challenge, please PM me so I can add it to the list! Looks like a great list!!!

Princess Vija: Avoid McDonalds and potato chips (and other fried snacks), So as not to deny myself the "crunch" factor, I can have baked chips in appropriate servings

moredisneyplease: stay away from cardio (left calf was torn a few months ago and is upset at me) for a week and do all weights and pilates instead.....OK, MAYBE do a spin class because that shouldnt bother my calf

Bellybee : to reduce daily chocolate eaten, I will replace chocolate with better snacks and try and avoid it altogether.
I am going to allow for errors so will allow one regular chocolate bar a day. If i avoid this all week I will allow myself a weekend treat of a bigger bar.

moet7 : drink ALL my water each day! (even if it means getting up in the middle of the night to go potty!)

cjackearl : make it to the gym 5 out of 7 day

junebugTN: commit to writing down everything I eat this week

Eeyores Butterfly: cutting all soda out of my diet

Lifelong_Dreamer:eliminate the unhealthy snacks

Jaime :I want to challenge myself to at least 5 days of at least 30 minutes this week on my Wii fit or elliptical/free weights. I really enjoy freestyle boxing, jogging & step on the Wii fit...usually do 10 minutes of each but just haven't been taking the time to do it...it's been a real struggle.

Patty1859 :30 minutes exercise 5 days this week

Hey BLUE TEAM! I think we have a great list of challenges already and we are continuing with being a very active thread! I love how supportive everyone is. I have a gut feeling that we are all going to be VERY succesful!!!:grouphug:

cjackearl , I hate finding out after the fact that the points value was WAY higher than I thought it would be. That is a tough lesson.

Briarmom, I have heard of several friends that exercise 2x a day. Seems to make a big differrence, not just in the exercise numbers, but like you said it keeps you on track 2x a day.

junebugTN, I think you are right, BLUE team is going to have a great week! and I agree, just knowing that we have a team that is counting on us, makes it easier to not stray.

Eeyores Butterfly, thanks for the info. I think my DD would love the DVD. What kind of work do you do? If you said in week 1, sorry, I forgot. It stinks when you can't have your break until the shift is almost over. There have been times where I didn't get any break.:sad2: Hard to stay on plan that way. Great job resisting the soda urge!:thumbsup2

ReAnSt, Conrats on 4# loss!!!! THAt is outstanding!!! I bet it feels great to start moving around more. Before you know it you will be doing this: :yay:  :dance3:

Vija: Friday-Sunday I work in the kitchen of a grocery store in town. There are usually three or four of us, and we are responsible for catering orders (we get quite a lot), maintaining a grab and go section of food, and then maintaining the dining room and food. People can come and get food and eat it there, it's actually a pretty popular place to eat.

THat sounds like it could be a lot of fun, but alot of work! Is it tough being around food all day?

Attention Blue Team!

We are going to have a Question Of The Day (QOTD). We are going to run them Mon-Fri. It was decided that all the teams would have the same QOTD, provided by the captains and co-captains. This weeks questions are provided by yours truly!:thumbsup2 These are not meant to stress you out, you don't have to answer them if you don't want you, they are JUST FOR FUN!!!! I hope you don't mind, but I am posting it early, because I KNOW I won't get up early before work to get them posted and I hate for them not to be posted untill the end of the day. Soooo, for MONDAY:

Tell us about your DIS screen name

My mini challenge is the same as some others (it's good to know that I'm not the only one).

I want to exercise when I get home from work for the next 5 days (instead of sitting in front of the tv eating junk food before dinner) and cut out ice cream (which is a big weakness).

Hello Blue Team! Its Sunday night and i figure if i check in about my great day then i wont eat anything else before bed time!! A few things:

Princess Vija, when you say tell us about our screen name I think you mean tell us why we picked our Dis name, right? I'm going to go w/ what I think it is:

My name is Melissa and my screen name is moredisneyplease. I think its rather self explanatory! I can't get enough Disney!! I'm at DL (socal resident) all of the time and i'm at WDW about every 9 months. I work hard for my money so I can feed my Disney and DVC habit! I guess its better than money going towards drugs, booze, or cigarettes, right?/ ;)

So my Sunday didnt pose nearly as many challenges as the last few days! It was easy to journal on day 5 of journaling, the family did a nice bike ride, and I said NO to McDonalds fries and just got a grilled chicken wrap w/ BBQ! Hopefully my Tuesday at Disneyland will be just as easy!!

Have a great Monday everyone!

THat sounds like it could be a lot of fun, but alot of work! Is it tough being around food all day?

Yes and no. I make a lot of the food so I see exactly what goes into it. That makes it easier to make healthy choices. We're also starting to carry some healthier items. Like today, I had a roasted chicken leg, carrots, and green beans. It smells good so it makes me hungry, but having to do the dishes at the end of the day kind of cures any craving I have for the food. :rotfl:

Here's a cooking tip for my fellow Blue Team members: if you want to add flavor without blowing your calories out o the water, cook your food in a reduced fat chicken broth. I use this to add flavor to rice and cous cous.

Morning....

Mini challenge- My goal is to go all week with no slip ups. Hoping to drop a few more lbs.

QOTD- My screen name is my name Diana + TLOL (The Labor of Love) and old website I used to post on years ago. They closed it due to trouble and stalkers etc. I just kept the ending.

I got my Oriental Lillies planted yesterday, ended up with a huge blister on my hand DUH, forgot the gloves! Now I just have a few other flowers to plant.

The weekend went pretty well, controlled eating, went to the grocery store, read labels and picked up lots of frest fruits and veggies too. Got all my water in over the weekend too.

Question of the Day - Nothing shocking or exciting ;) My name is Tammy and I'm from NC:thumbsup2

Mini challenge - I need to make sure that I get more fresh veggies in so I am planning on eating a salad with 4 - 5 of my meals this week. I'm also having trouble getting motivated to get any exercise in so my challenge is to go walking at least twice.

Have a great Monday everyone!!

My cold has moved into my lungs and my nose is running like crazy.
I got a 45 minute workout in this morning.:thumbsup2

I still can't decide on a mini-challenge. I'd like to do something with my abs...any suggestions? Maybe 100 crunches per day?

How did I get my user name? It's not very creative, I must say. I'm a mom with a child named...Briar. That's it.

Tell us about your DIS screen name

:lmao: Well mine is pretty simple...it's my name.

Briarmom - I hope you start feeling better soon...crunches are a great way to help your abs...have you ever used an exercise ball while doing them?

So far my mini challenge is going great I exercised yesterday and today.

Have a great day everyone!

Quick Wkend update: did not do well at all. Went to visit my daughter at college on Saturday (first time seeing her since mid-August). Had a great day but did not make good choices. Sunday was no better. So my challenge this week is to get right back on track and stay there! And drink lots more water since it's the week of the month I tend to gain-so there's always that challenge too!

Question of the day: My name is Linda...when my husband and I started dating, he said my eyes sparkled when he looked at me so he started calling me Sparky --when I first created a screenname for email I couldn't think of anything creative so I used that. The 47 is my birth date (April 7).

Hi Everyone,

I need to figure out how to make time to get on here during the weekends. You all post like crazy.

Mini Challenge - My mini challenge is to do at least 30 minutes of Cardio everyday.

User Name- Not very original. It's my name + Mouse.

I'll check back in later.

Congrats to all the losers this week! I lost 5 lbs by maintaining my 3 60 min workout routine AND watching what I eat (imagine that!). I'm not following a diet, per se, but I do try to limit the junk that goes in my mouth.
5 lbs makes me wonder just how much junk I've been shoveling in!:confused3

My challenge this week will be to go 4 days to the gym and try a new class on that 4th day.

My screen name is Silly Andi- My family called me Andie growing up and when I signed up for aol 20 years ago that was the "suggested" name they offered for me so I took it and I use it for every board I am on! I guess I am kinda silly too, so that helps?!

Briarmom-Hope you feel better soon. Abs, they are hard to do.

Sparky47-At least it is Monday and you still have several days to get back on track before the weigh in. I'm sure you will do fine.

Sabrina-I want to work on my cardio too.

My user name comes from a cat I had a few years ago. His name was Hobbes, but sometimes I would call him Hobbester. He was the first cat that my DH and I had together, he lived until he was 10, but then started to have health issues.

Well, my screen name is pretty self explanatory. Eeyore is my favorite character (although Belle is a close second.) He is cute, and your heart just goes out to him. He doesn't smile often, but when he does it really lights up a room! I also love butterflies, and Eeyore is frequently associated with butterflies. Butterflies are amazing- you start out with a catepillar. Some people think they are ugly, others (like me) think they are cute. They are limited by their bodies, then they build a cocoon. They emerge as a butterfly- something regarded as beautiful and wondrous throughout the world. They are a symbol of beauty and transformation.
