One last thing Red Team Rocks!

Okay I will start. My name is Christa (duh!) and I am 36. I am a single mother of two teenagers (17 & 15). I work for a craft brewing company multi-tasking as human resource & payroll manger, ale house manger & accountant and other tasks as need. I am a calorie-counter, not really following any other plan, just doing my own thing. I enjoy doing in-home walking (Leslie Sansone) and walking outdoors & on my treadmill. I have recently been battling a groin/hip injury but the doctors don’t find anything that is wrong, which makes it just that much more difficult to deal with. So, unfortunately I had to take several months off of exercise to allow time to heal. This kind of snowballed into making bad food choices and resulted in a weight gain of about 10 pounds since the beginning of the year. I have about 25 pounds to lose to reach my goal of 135. I started out at 237 (Nov ’06) and got down to 149 at the beginning of the year. I am refocused and determined to get the rest of this weight off by our trip to Disneyland/SoCal for Christmas & New Years.

Since I am also on the west coast I'm up still. My name is Michelle & I am 37 years old. I have been married for 13 years and have 2 dds (10 & 8 next month). I am a stay at home, homeschooling, gymnastics mom. I am not really following any plan though I have cut back on my carbs (my biggest downfall), drinking more water, and working out. Over the last 3 years I have lost about 35 pounds.....very, very slow obviously. I am trying to step it up and get myself healthy. My dad passed away last year due to complications from diabetes, high blood pressure & heart issues. I do not want to deal with any of those issues so I need to do something. I am not quite sure where I want to end up when I am done with my weight loss, but I probably need to lose between 90 and 100 pounds total from where I am right now. AS for exercise I am currently doing the Wii Fit and working my way to more time on our elliptical machine. I guess that is it for me for now.

Michelle

This is so exciting! It's my first time participating in one of these challenges and I am thrilled to be a part of it.

I guess I will follow Christa and Michelle's lead and introduce myself.

My name is Beth. I am a 36 year old SAHM. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have four kids, ages 13, 11, 8, and 8. We live in Las Vegas as you can see from my location, but I grew up in SoCal.

I haven't always been over weight. In fact in high school I was very thin. At 5'9" I weighed between 120 and 125. After HS though I just sort of started to let myself go. Personal issues and emotional eating had a lot to do with it. I gained a lot of weight with each pregnancy too that I just never lost.

Long story short, I ended up around 263 and stayed there for many, many years. Ugh, so many years it's hard to think about. BUT I am finally ready to make a change. I can't change the past but I can change my future and that is what I'm working towards now.

I started losing weight the second week of May (this year) and so far have lost 35 pounds. I'm not following any specific plan. Just doing what I should have been doing all along. Cutting back on soda and fast food, counting calories, watching how much I eat and when, keeping a food journal, and doing some exercise DVDs.

Being in Vegas and having temps over 100 degrees for the last 4 months has made getting out to go for a walk tough, so I've actually been walking in my house. I do circle 8's through the kitchen, family room and living room. LOL Hey, whatever works right?? :rotfl:

My goal right now is just to get out of the 200's. Once I reach that I will rethink where I want to be. So, thanks for reading and I'm eager to meet everyone else, hear their stories and get started!! :yay:

My name is Bobbi. I've recently relocated from PA to TN. I'm a clinical analyst, which is a fancy way to say that I sit in front of computers all day working on stuff for hospital pharmacies. While this computer degree did wonders for my job satisfaction, it has wreaked havoc on my waistline.

I'm hoping to lose about 100 pounds. I think I've finally accepted that I didn't gain it overnight so I'm not going to lose it overnight. I've lost about 17 pounds in the last 10-12 weeks. Not great, but I'll take it!

I'm really trying to be excited about exercise, and truly am most of the time. I'm working toward the Expidition Everest 5K 9/27, then the Twilight Zone TOT 13K 10/25. I think I'll be able to do them both with in the time limit if I can get the pain in my knee under control. I definately need a goal to keep me moving, so there will probably be a half marathon in April, too. I run 3 times a week (I use "run" VERY loosely - it's mostly walking, but I count it as long as I keep moving forward. I don't have to go fast, I just have to go!) , do weights with Denise Austin twice a week and some focused stretching once a week. With all that, I'm hoping I'll keep losing.

I'm excited to be part of this group. A little extra accountability goes a long way with me. It's not unusual for me to be totally willing to blow a workout or a meal for my pleasure, but when doing so will ruin someone else's day - I'll be good. I look forward to getting to know you!

Hi everyone! My name is Angie and I have a dd who is 4 years old. I joined WW about 2 years ago and lost 83 lbs. and have since gained most of it back and am just sick about it. I am so excited to be included with this and have some support and friends to talk to who understand where I'm coming from:thumbsup2

Hello Everyone,

Day one and we are heading out to Disney's Vero Beach for the weekend. This will be our first visit and are excited about going. I am looking forward to some encouragement along this path and look forward to geting to know all of you. I have quite bit of weight to lose and as one of you said it wasn't gained overnight, so it will not be lost overnight. Although that would be nice. LOL

Have a good weekend!:)

:surfweb: good TGIF morning losers! this is the best time of the day for me to sneak in some DIS time, got HS DD off to school but b4 DH/DD#2 get up. however, i must utilize this time more for working out in the future! ::yes::

my name is Molli, i'm 36 and live in central Ohio, about 20 mins from the belt around Columbus. I too and a SAHM, though i did return very-part time back to work about 2 1/2 years ago. I'm an x-ray tech so i have a 'pool' position where i cover sick days, vacations, etc at my husband's company Wellness Center on the medical side. The other side is a fantastic workout facility. I have done WW in the past on my own and been successful with it, about 5 years ago. I just couldn't get into it this time. So i have been counting calories and working out. Sadly for me i was at my goal earlier this year, but a bump in the road this summer led me to regain 10 lbs. and i'm facing 2 mini-vacations within the next 4 weeks so i need accountability.

Being in Vegas
that's where i'm going first!! i leave for Vegas next Tuesday and return late Saturday night. vegas trips always put poundage on for me! i guess craps is not an aerobic activity :confused3

I think I've finally accepted that I didn't gain it overnight so I'm not going to lose it overnight. I've lost about 17 pounds in the last 10-12 weeks. Not great, but I'll take it!

i just have to say that is the ABSOLUTELY PERFECT way to lose, slow and steady!!

i'm excited to have a BL team this fall to keep me excited and inspired!

oh yea -- exercise -- i'm a 'powerwalker' -- i seem to train for 1/2 marathons about 2 a year. my next one is the last sunday in October, exactly one week after returning from Vegas. :rotfl2: who planned that one? lol I also enjoy yoga, pilates, WATP, strength training with my "trainer" once a week, or whatever DVD i have.

My name is Donna. I'm 33 years old, married to Rudy and have 2 boys, Brady is 14 and Zachary is 5. For now I am a stay at home mom. I joined WW last March and lost 50 pounds. Since then I have managed to put 15 pounds of that back on.

I started having some back pain and after an MRI, I was diagnosed with bone spurs on my spine with the onset of osteoarthritis. So, after a few months of not working out, eating whatever I felt like and just feeling sorry for myself, I decided that gaining back any of what I worked so hard to take off just wasn't acceptable.

Last week I rejoined WW and am feeling good about the week so far and how well I've been doing. I'm excited to be on the red team and sharing this journey with all of you.

Good luck losers! Have a great day :)

Good morning Red team! My name is Cheryl, I am 33, SAHM with 2 boys (Anthony 5 & Evan 3) and married for 6 years. I have lost 55 lbs with WW last year and looking forward to lose the last 15 hardest pounds. We will do this together. Good Luck to all--one day at a time and hour by hour! Lose big RED TEAM!!!

HI! My name is Lill and I'm 40  ! I've been married to my husband for 17 years and we have two girls 15 and 11. I'm a stay at home mom and my husband is a dairy farmer. We live south of Ottawa in Canada. I slowly started to put weight on after we got married. He is a meat and potatoes guy. Anyway I started Herbal Magic back in May and have lost 38 pounds and have about 40 more to go. We have a surprise trip planed for the girls for this December we are going on our first cruise and then spending some time at Disney.

I'm off to the gym and to weigh myself

GO RED TEAM!!!!!!

Hello Red Team!

Thanks to Christa and CharityLynn for taking the time to be our fearless leaders!

My name is Katy, I'm 40 (and the oldest to post so far). I am an American living in the Middle East in Doha, Qatar. So I will post on my Friday, which is 8 hours ahead of TX time, so right now it is 3:30 in the afternoon here and mornign for most of you!

I am a SAHM of 3 boys, Jacob 13, Nathan 11, and Matthew 8. The whole family started WW on-line nearly a month ago. Unfortunately we are all overweight:sad2: and I want to help them NOW. In this month I lost 12 bs,
starting at 227.5 and was 215.5 at weigh in. The boys have each lost around 3-5lbs, and I'd be happy if they just didn't gain. My DH started on his own this summer and is down 23lbs! The boys and I were visiting family in the USA for 6 weeks, all that eating out is BAD.

I'm not big on working out but did find a great class last year that I like. Unfortunately the teacher moved and now I'm looking for something again. I did sign up for classes that will start after Oct. 6. It is really HOT here, so difficult to walk outside, but once it cools I do enjoy that. Its higher than 115 most days now, but by Dec. should be in mid 70s. I promise to do whatever ecercise challenges are thrown my way!

This is my first time to join something like this and I'm looking forward to it!

Oh, I also LOVE to cook and bake and am trying to channel my love into healthy cooking, which has been a fun challenge thus far!

Katy

Hello RED TEAM!!!!! I'm Kelly, 39yo, married, with one ds. I keep telling myself that this is my year. I quit smoking and now I need to take charge of my weight and overall fitness. I've been doing great exercising the past 3 months, and now I need to get the eating under control. Since I didn't think I'd ever quit smoking or be one to make sure I got my exercise in, this should be the easy part, but it's not. I'm an emotional eater, and a boredom eater. I also have not weighed myself other than when I'm at the doctor's office for years. So, pulling out the scale and getting on it was a step all in itself. That evil little scale groaned and told me I'm the heaviest I've ever been. I had a few things to say back to it, but I won't bother repeating them here. :rolleyes1 :lmao: Once I get the "Eating Troll" back under the bridge where it belongs, this quest will be alot easier. :)

I'm very much looking forward to getting to know all of you, conquering the challenges, and having us all become fitter together!

Good morning Red Team!!!!

I am so excited to be a part of this again, and ready to lose this weight (again:mad: ) for good.

I'm Kathy, 44 years old (now I'm the oldest, KatyBelle), a single mom to an awesome 6 year old boy Michael, I'm a nurse, and live in Danvers MA.

I am a repeat weight watcher, and 3 years ago had rejoined ww at 226 lbs. and lost 40 pounds over 2 years. Last sept, I stopped the meetings and tried to do it on my own, and did well into this spring, but over the summer have put back on 19 pounds. I rejoined ww last week and am determined to lose it for good this time, and quit this yo-yoing. I'm 199.6, and would like to get to the top ww weight of 155. I like to walk and do the watp videos for exercise, and my goal is to work back up to 5 days/week of 30-60 minutes. I've done 4 this week.

I'm heading to NH for the weekend, so won't be checking back til monday, but it's great to meet everyone and we are going to be the biggest losers!!!!!:woohoo:

A big :thanks: to Christa and Charitylynn for being our wonderful leaders.

Have a great,losing weekend everyone!:cheer2:

Hello, my name is Rosemary and I am 25 years old from NJ. I have been married to Fernando for 6 years and we have 2 boys, Fernando Jr is going to be 6 in November and Sergio who is just 7 months. First, I have to say I am very jealous of all of you stay at home moms. ;) I work full time (till 7 each night), and going to college, and have karate, and soccer so it is very hard for me to find time to work out. I can’t wait to finish college so I can become a teacher and spend more time with my boys. I am disappointed in myself because I used to weight 98 pounds and am now 198. I have also been told I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome which has lead me to be pre-diabetic. I am not really doing a plan. I know that I am an emotional eater and a boredom eater. I also know that I have a hard time stopping even when I am full if there is still food left on my plate. My solution to this has been ……ready for this……..I bought smaller plates! :lmao: I have also started just making sure that I do have breakfast to cut down on my morning snacking. I have stopped drinking soda and have started racing my boss each day to see who can finish out 1.5 liter bottle of water first. And am just generally packing healthier lunches and cutting out my midnight snacks. I actually made some time last night just to do some basic exercise and have to admit I feel great this morning and wish I didn’t have to work so I could go to the gym.

I want to lose 60-70 pounds which will take me to the healthy weight for my 5’0” height. I am so excited to be involved in this challenge as I know that if I give up I will let me team down and this will keep me going.

I guess that’s all for now. GO RED TEAM!!!!!

Good morning all! GO RED TEAM! My name is Sarah. I work full time plus a bunch as an office technician up in Washington State directly on the Canadian Border. I am 30 years old and have been married for 6 years to my DH Glenn. We have two children. My ds Ryder is 3 and I have a newborn baby girl named Kiera who is 12 weeks. I have done WW in the past to great success but have had 2 kids since then and gained it all back. I have about 84 lbs to lose and am looking forward to doing it with all of you. My company has a gym and when I am not working over time I try to get in there to the tread mill. It rains a lot up here so outdoors activities are not all that abundant in the non summer time. We can do this! I challenge everyone who reads this to drink a cup of water! Great job everyone! Lets kick this into high gear and get losing!

Sarah

Hey everyone! I am so happy to be given the opportunity to help you all with this goal. As co-captain, I promise to believe in you and motivate you to the best of my ability and only ask in return for your support.:lovestruc

I am a 28 year old mother and wife. My name is Charity (Surprised?) I live in Battle Creek, Michigan. I did start a journal over here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1949812 I have pictures over there too.;)

I didn't grow up heavy, I only got heavy after having my children. Carter is now 9 years old and Rayne (rain) is 5 years old. But with each of my pregnancies I gained 76lbs. After Carter I was able to lose about 40lbs before I got pregnant with Rayne. My eating habits really got bad when I got pregnant with my son, I figured I could eat whatever I wanted I was after all pregnant.

The sad thing is even when I wasn't pregnant I still ate like I was pregnant with triplets at least..

I've tried different diets and was even a member at Curves. Nothing has really seemed to work. I also have hypothyroidism and that makes its difficult to lose weight if its not being taken care of which mine wasn't until recently.

What got me to this point was a recent doctors appointment, my cholesterol is 287! My doctor has told me to lose weight or she'll have to put me on cholesterol medicines. I'm only 28! Not to mention we can't afford another prescription. SO here I am working at this again.

My diet right now isn't anything specific. I eat a bowl of cereal (Special K vanilla and almonds) in the morning, drink a lot of water, a Smart ones meal for lunch, its around dinner time that I have a hard time but I am working on it. If i don't start dropping I will look into starting a real diet plan.

As for exercise I have several videos (10 minute workouts, Taebo, Biggest Loser) I have wii fit, an elliptical, and my cable company has on demand which has a workout section. So I do have a variety. I can also walk around my little neighborhood.

How about a quote: "Do not wait for ideal circumstances, nor the best opportunities; they will never come."-- Janet E. Stuart

Hello Red Team! I am Michelle, I am 46 ( NOW I'm the oldest!! ). I have been married for almost 26 years and have a dd 20 years old and ds 18 years old. I live in central New York and am not a winter person so I will need to find indoor activities.

I am doing Jenny Craig. I was doing it last spring and lost 15lbs, but took the summer off. Happily I only put 4.5lbs back on. So time to get back on track!!! I hope this challenge motivates me to get moving. I need to lose 25-30 pounds.

I will be going to Las Vegas next April, so my goal it to lose all the weight before that trip!!

Good luck everyone.

Good morning fellow Losers!!

My name is Veronica, I am currently 37 (will be 38 soon), married and have one daughter Tess age 8. I am a dental hygienist and work 4-5 days per week. Like many others, I lost a lot of weight (50 lbs last year) then gained some back (15 lbs). I have managed to get 6 lbs off since the beginning of this month (YEAH ME!!:cheer2: ) but still have about 58 lbs to go to get to goal. I am using FitDay to track my calories and am an avid runner. Did my longest run ever this morning, 7 miles!! I did not think it possible, but I did it! Just goes to show what a little bit of motivation can do for you.

I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and sharing in your triumphs and helping you when things aren't going as planned.

Off to the grocery store to stock up on salad and chicken!!

Just wanted to welcome everyone. And make sure noone forget to send their starting weight to Brenda (Dare2Dream).

I have today off and was hoping to sleep in but wouldn't you know it my kids missed the bus. So, no sleeping in for me :( . My plan for today is to double up on working out. Doing one 30 - 45 mins this morning and then another 30 - 45mins this evening.
