Biscuit's Grand Adventure | An epic tale three decades in the making!

Thanks for the 'back at the ranch' update, Nana Biscuit!

Its so wonderful that you were all able to enjoy this trip together. We LOVED our trips with my parents. They are always saying that trips to WDW with their grandkids top any fancy cruise or other vacation they've been on. I know that it can require a little bit more flexibility and uh, tolerance, but I really, really enjoy taking trips with extended family. Thats what life's all about for me.:)
This was a best of both worlds trip. We had the first half with Nana, Papa, Preston and Aunt Jana and the last half with just us.

Two great updates! I'm glad to hear First Lady Biscuit started to warm up to Epcot. :thumbsup2 We love that area with all the fish as well, it's fun to watch the kids' eyes get wide with awe.
Hey BE! I was thrilled too! Nothing like becoming an enabler!

Did you know if you have AP's for Sea World, they are good at any Sea World? I learned about that on the DIS Podcast!
Yes! But we didn’t buy ours until July this year and last year we didn’t renew so alas, we had none with us on the trip. (Not that I would have actually given up any Disney time mind you.)

Hey GB! I'm enjoying your TR and am scrutinizing every photo to see if I can find me and my girls in there! We were there at the same time as you, it was HOOOOOT that week. I have never sweated so much in my life! Keep it up, it's fun reliving our trip through your :happytv: words!
Thanks and :welcome: ! It was an awesome week!

Hey Jordan! I know...it's been crazy again! But I do have the next episode written, well mostly written. Started anyway. I have three paragraphs done so that's a good intro. I had hoped to udate today, but it is turning out be anohter wonky afternoon.

i have to admit i read it alllll. why so dadgum loooong???????? i wanted to love this but after HOURS of reading this the one thing i get out of this is... spend more time with your kids. oh and i can tell you have matured. i have to ask you this do u enjoy typing or just were you thinking aloud??? anyhoo LAWD i will not read a trip report like this again. maybe it was cathartic for u but for me exhausting. never again biscuit.:sad2::sad2::sad2::confused3:confused3:confused3:confused::confused::confused:

No worries GB. I was really just checkin in...take your time.
Hey Jordan! I am HOPING to finish formatting pics this afternoon so I can post tomorrow! :thumbsup2

Howdy and :welcome: First off, thank you for reading. I appreciate you taking the time to read through the entire TR. It is a lot to take in, that much I'll admit.

A couple of comments.

As to length, back in Episode 1, I did point out that this was a Trip Report for 7 trips, rather than just one. In fact if you read the episode list, you'll realize that this is a report about a total of 22 days spent at The World over the course of 22 years. Given the number of days and trips involved, this TR really isn't all that long by DIS Boards standards.

Do I like to type? Not as such. But I LOVE to write, and I love to read. Was I thinking out loud, not really. In most cases I let an episode sit for a least a day or two, sometimes more before I return to it and do some more updating. That is simply my style of writing. Have there been some one offs where I had to "crank one out"? Sure.

As to the two things you gleamed from reading, may I share "Life's Lesson number 254?" "Never offer unsolicited parenting advice." This of course falls after "Life's lesson number 253" which is "Never fart in a chimney...bad things happen." (So I guess that negates your second observation.)

In all seriousness, you will find that the DIS Boards is about more than simply planning a vacation. It is a place to meet new friends and find a community of folks willing to accept your quirks and like you anyway. If I may offer some advice from an old timer, it's best to only participate in this type of banter with folks you've interacted with before. For some great examples of this, I'd refer you to the completed TR section above. Look for reports by 1000thhappyhaunt and Zzub. (Just know that they may be bit long for your liking)

Finally, there is not a requirement to reply to every thread you read. (Heaven knows I would have had a post count in the tens of thousands if that were so.) Over the past 12 years I've read countless TR's. Many were not my style. The board etiquette is simply to move on to the next topic. If you feel you MUST reply, it's better to do so by Private Message. Not because you are going to hurt the OP's feelings, but so that you don't get flamed by other posters. Remember, it's about community and finding common ground.

I do hope to see you around the boards. Please don't feel that I'm angry or upset. I have thick skin and can take a critique. I just don't want to see someone new to this community being attacked.

So fellow posters, I ask that you please DON'T.

I'm off to church now. (To follow your suggestion of more time with the girls.) Oh, and concerning that, I do have a happy announcement for my next episode concerning my work schedule. But that's getting ahead of myself.

Adios!

Biscuit, you're awesome. Your reply to honeydiane1953 was just perfect. Polite, and very well said. I applaude you.

Ditto the others -- you made me kill the motor, dude (oh, the response I was compiling in my head...), but you are one class act.

A fancy biscuit, served on china.

But still with a good portion of sausage gravy on the side.

You are one classy Biscuit. :thumbsup2

Biscuit, you are my hero.:goodvibes

Thanks for the kudos y'all. I LOVE all of my posters! :lovestruc You guys rock! :cool2: Don't put me on a pedestal though. The fact of the matter is, I've screwed up so many times in life I've lost count. :sad2: Yet God has always shown me grace and mercy and is slowly teaching me how to do the same.

I can't wait to share the next episode! C ya real soon! :surfweb:

In the meantime, enjoy this musical interlude.

It's the community thing that keeps me sane!! Just ask Tim, or Jordo, or Cynthia, maroo, Cherie, or any of the lifelong friendships that I've made here, many of whom I actually talk with by phone, FB or e-mail. Thank you all for keeping me company in an often times, lonely place!!!

Great Biscuit, I love your TR! I have been lurking and reading your TR for months. I really look forward to your new chapters, since I love to read and you are a very entertaining writer! Keep up the good work!:thumbsup2

GB...

You just talk away........:thumbsup2
:lmao: Will do Jordan! :mic:

Howdy and :welcome: I'm glad you decided to de-lurk so I could give you a proper welcome! Thanks for the kudos! I hope to update soon. Almost done with the writing portion..just gotta deal with the photos.

You know if we are ever in The World at the same time, we HAVE to have Dis-Meet. Cause, you know, Chicken and A Biscuit is a TR Title that I CAN'T pass up!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

And, yes, GB, you are a class act. And a wonderful daddy, too, I must add.:thumbsup2

I can't wait to share the next episode! C ya real soon! :surfweb:

Um, yeah, we can't wait either! (hint, hint) This popcorn's gettin' kinda stale. ;)

 love the BBQ song!

I bet you and your lady have that conversation often - BBQ to her = a grill/grilling out! (or at least at some point it did...! :goodvibes)

I have to say, I like mine the Texan way. Beef brisket from Famous Daves. Drool.
