birthday party advice needed

Glady (turning 5) and JT (turning 14) have their birthdays just 2 days apart. Last year I had Glady's party in the morning and JT's party in the afternoon.

I am not sure what to do this year. JT wants a laser tag party again so all I have to do is show up at the laser tag place (they do the cake, goody bags, and entertain the boys with laser tag).

Should I plan on having Glady's party in the morning and JT's in the afternoon again? Or should I have JT's the sat before their birthdays and Glady's the following Sat? If I do Glady's the following Sat what hours should I have it (dh has to work that evening)?

We have people coming from out of town that can only come on one Sat. I will have them come which Sat works best for them. If the parties are on the same Sat the relatives could be at both. If the parties are on different Sats I could have a small cake for the other with the relatives before or after.

I wish I could combine the parties, but 14 year old boys and 5 year old girls at the same party won't work. I can't have them at the same time, because both want me and dh at their parties.

If you can afford to do it, then definately go with having it one week a part.
That way you are not stressed having two on the same day.

My brother and I had birthday's 1 week apart and often had parties on the same (sometimes even shared cakes :guilty: ). I hated it.

IMO Let the 14yo have his laser tag party with his friends. To be honest he probably really wouldn't care if out of town relatives were there for this.

The relatives can come to the daughter's party.

No use in running yourself ragged trying to fit both parties in on the same day. Most kids don't really care if the party is not on the actual birth day.

I agree with this. :)
