Hi,
This will be my first time being at WDW during my birthday! I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about special things to do or that are done for you at the World on birthdays.

Thanks!

Try a birthday fireworks cruise. It is a lot of fun; and the cake was fabulous! Be sure to get a birthday button from whatever park you choose to be in. They are available at all four. If you like Character's do a lunch or dinner. We had a great time at The Garden Grill for lunch. The 6" birthday cake was included with our meal; just be sure to mention it when making PS. You get a card signed by all the Characters featured there; they also come to you table to join in the singing of Happy Birthday to the tune of Old MacDonald. If you are not into that kind of thing make plans for a nice dinner maybe in somewhere in the World Showcase. There are so many fun things to see and do that you can't go wrong whatever you decide. The main thing is to have fun and choose something you love doing.

Have a Magical Birthday at WDW!

Get a free birthday button at City Hall, that way you'll get lots of happy birthday wishes from everyone. The characters will usually point at the button and clap their paws, which is what happened when I celebrated there last November. And most importantly, HAVE FUN!!!!

Forgot to mention if you plan to stay on site put it on your reservation. You get balloons and a photo card autograhed by Mickey. Also make sure to mention it on all your PS.

For my husband's 30th b-day we got him the button at MK and we had a great time with it in the parks. They even sang happy birthday to him on the jungle cruise. I planned a surprise for him through Gifts of a Lifetime.com. It was a scavenger hunt where he found these scrolls from Goofy and it led us all over Frontierland finding little gifts and stuff until it led up to his birthday gifts, ordered from Disney. It was a pretty cool event. We also ordered a cake from the boardwalk bakery which was really good. Have fun.

I just celebrated my birthday at Disney World over Labor Day Weekend and posted a trip report! It was the best vacation my husband and I ever had (maybe leaving the children at home had something to do with it...).

All the other posters had great tips. If you wear the birthday button, then CMs and guests will be wishing you "happy birthday" all day (or weekend, in my case) long. I felt like a princess from all of the attention. I received a treat at every meal (we had made several PSs), and often a song. I was even invited to lead the parade at the Crystal Palace! It is a WONDERFUL way to spend a birthday!!!!

hi soltwisch family
we will be at the world for me and my dh birthday(mine 15th oct his 16th oct)we arrive on the 11th october and are staying at the movies do we tell reservations when we check in or do we have to it by phone before we leave the u.k and shall i tell them it is both our birthdays:D

TIA EVE:D

I called to put it on the reservations and then I would remind them when you go to check in. It is my DS b-day and I am also going ot note my DD's b-day (it is 1 week earlier she turned 1). I would tell everyone possible and again, I would call it in and then reiterate that is is your b-days when you get there!

Definitely tell Disney before your birthdays!....you can call the reservations line and they will notate it on your reservation and you can send a fax ahead to the All-Stars and mention it then also. Have a magical birthday!!!

hi ksgirl and onecoolmma
thank you for your responses i'll phone and i'll also send a fax nearer the time:D do you know how far in advance should i phone or fax:D

eve

I've heard that the resorts get their reservations only 4 days ahead of arrivals, so that faxing directly to the resort sould take place (at the earliest) 4 days prior to your trip. You can call Disney reservations at anytime and get your birthdays notated on your reservation. If anyone knows any differently, I hope they will chime in!

Make sure they know, it's fun!!!!! Lots of great ideas here. Have a wonderful trip and magical birthday. :bounce:

UKTigger,

We told them the actual birthday when making a reservation and they confimed at check in. However, there was no date written down; we assumed they had it. Our DD did get the balloons and the card; but it was a day late. It was an honest mistake and DH didn't mention the date when ******** in because they had mentioned there being a birthday. I would call the front desk the day before as a little reminder. That way you won't be disappointed when they aren't there when you get back from a wonderful day in the parks.

Have a Happy Birthday! :Pinkbounc :p :Pinkbounc :)

I did that too, but it said on my ressie sheet, that I was supposed to get a call from Goofy, so I phoned down to Guest Services and asked what happened, and they asked who my fave character was, and I said Tigger, thinking I was gonna get a call from Tigger, instead a bit later a sweet CM came to the door with the balloons and a photo card signed by Tigger and friends. That gesture REALLY made my birthday real magical!!!

My birthday is October 20th, and it's my first time being a CM at WDW during that time! I've always wanted to celebrate my birthday here. :) I have to pick which park and which resturant I was to celebrate at. I'm leaning towards Liberty Tree Tavern- always wanted to try it...but World Showcase has so many interesting places to try.

I see people wearing those birthday pins all the time when I'm working. :) It's amazing how many of those I'll see in one day. I always try to wish the wearer happy birthday.

hi angiebelle
have a magical birthday:D let me know how your birthday goes and where you decided to celebrate;)

Wow! This makes me so excited to read all this stuff. I am surprising my daughter with a trip for her "Sweet 16th Birthday". She'll be 16 three weeks from today and we leave the next morning! I also bought MNSSHP tickets for 10/26. I definitely will make sure she gets her Birthday Buttons at each park. I did not include it on my ressies but I'll be calling tomorrow to do so. I have PS for LTT on 10/26 as well. I'll have to let them know also.

I also have a basket ordered along with a Tinkerbell cake from Pixie Gifts. They should be left in our room waiting for us shortly after we check in. She is going to be so thrilled! I cannot wait to see her reaction to all of this!!!!
