DD has just turned 11 and will be going next month. We are also going to American Girl Cafe in NY this summer, doll in tow! No need to grow up too fast, IMHO!
Would love to see pics of an adult getting pampered at BBB! ebaynut31, the CM actually ASKED me if I wanted an appt! Let us know if you go for it!

A co wroker took her daughter and one her friends. I think they are in the 10 year old range.
They all LOVED it. I think the two young girls had the middle package.

I peeked in the boutique pre opening. It looks very nice.

Have any adults done this? We are going in august and 2 of us plan on doing this. Not the deluxe version but probably hair and makeup. I am 36 and I think I am going with the Pop Princess look.

My two daughters did this on our spring break trip. This was the highlight of their trip (and we had a MAGICAL vacation)!!

There were several ladies getting their hair and makeup and nails done while I was waiting for my girls.

I want to post my BBB pics, but my DH needs to help me!!! I will try and do it later this eve.

We saw the BBB last Sun or Mon.. I was not really impressed.
But I think that is because we had my DNs first haircut the day before at MK. While there I talked to the CMs that work in the Barber shop just off Main St. They said that the CMs at the BBB are NOT liscened and registered beauticians... the BBB CMs only got a few hours/day or 2 instruction. My DN, 4yo, had her first hair cut and it was wonderfull! They charge $14 for a child and $17 for an adult, (got mine cut too!). We got tons of pixie dust and a sleek , tidy, colorfull, and beautifull hair up do on DN. LOTS of folks asked where we got it done. It was cheaper, faster, and fun...

When we went to the BBB I watched the girls get all the makeup. For our 4yo it would have been to much. The hair styles would not have done a thing for her. They only had 3 color of hair extensions, med brown, light dirty blond, and a multi color. I found the same hair extensions at WalMart, and for less then 1/2 the cost.. they were about $14 at the BBB..
Some of the little girls looked very cute, but some of them reminded me of the 1980s look- think Cyndi Lauper or Pat Bennatar... Not bad, just very untidy, and costly!

I like the idea of the BBB, but I wish they had real beauticians with a liscen to do hair. It is a cute idea, but it all seemed a little frantic.

Glad we went with the Barber Shop at MK. For us it was a better choice, and with my DNs supper fine hair that was the only was it would stay up for more then a few hours. It lasted over 13 hours! And we had a pink "hidden" Mickey on the side of her head.

All in all I think we will end up doing the BBB, but I hope not for a few years....

I'm taking my DD8 there when we go in October. It's going to be a surprise for her. We're going shopping in Downtown Disney and then out appt is at 1:30. We're going to the Halloween party that night so I figured she would really enjoy it. I'm having such a hard time not telling her- I can't wait.
When I made the reservation I had to give them a credit card but they said it won't be charged unless we don't show up.

Did they give you a time frame of when your card would be charged if you didn't show up?? Say 24 or 48 hrs?? I would love to do this for dd for our upcoming trip if there is anything available but she doesn't know about our trip and won't know until the morning we leave....shhhhhh, it's a surprise!!

She can be "funny" about stuff like that, she loved the Libby Lu thing but may decide she doesn't want to do the BBB thing, of course I would wait a day or 2 into our trip so she can decide when we get to WDW if she wants to do it and then if she doesn't want to do it I'd give adequate notice so they could schedule someone else in.

My daughter will be 11 when we go. She loves makeup and to get her hair and nails done. Do you think she is too old for this or will she like it? Would she be the only pre-teen there? I know I would like it.

My 10 year old is doing it and she is looking forward to this as her favorite thing (and LaNouba). The hair, makeup and nails drew her in as she has no interest in the costumes.

I think we will have a great time and then we will explore Downtown Disney.

Bibbi, there will be 2 of us, both adults, and we will definitely get pictures! We aren't going until august but we can't wait for this. I have been down many times but the girl that is coming with me has never been and when she heard of this, she was sooooo excited.

I, of course, volunteered to do it with her.

When I made my reservations, they told me that there was a 24 hr cancellation policy and that they took my credit card at the reservation. I got the impression that they charge it the day before.

We can't wait to go.

What do you spend extra money on? I thought the hair extension or the tiara was included.
