Bin Laden - celebrations

Her opinion was offensive to me and thanks to all the soldiers who fought for me to have the right to say I was offended I dam well will.

As they have fought to give me the right to express mine. I disagreed with the OP about her opinion and I disagreed with yours because I did not find her wording to be offensive, especially considering some other posts I have read. It is my right just as it is yours so carry on and so will I! :thumbsup2

OMG wahwahwah about the MLK quote people, how many times is someone going to trot that out. Listen up, we don't care. MLK was a wonderful man, I'm not.

I'm an average American who is HAPPY that Osama got his evil, vile, nasty head blown up. I watched what happened on 911 and smelled the smoke. You don't feel that same way, okay. Stop trying to tell ME how I am supposed to feel. Continuing to slam us with pious sayings of great and wondrous (and dead) people means jack.

Just back it off. I know darned well how I feel and I feel like a great present was given to the world yesterday. AND I feel like dancing.

Exodus 2:11-12

Moses Flees to Midian
One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people. Looking this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.

I'm not particularly religious but this seems to fit killing OBL.

BRAVO ZULU Navy Seals from a from a former shipmate!

"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars" Martin Luther King Jr

I find it sad that in the USA, someone cannot respect a differing opinion.
Just because I'm not dancing in the street celebrating death does not mean that I love my country less than you do.

These two posts sum up my thoughts and feelings very well..

People will always have differing opinions - that's what makes us all unique.. It doesn't make one person right and the other person wrong.. It's just a difference of opinions - nothing more, nothing less..

Nobody is asking you to celebrate, the OP's was the third thread today on the subject.
Respect how sensitive a subject this is to other peoples hearts and families stop fanning the fire then.

I'm aware that it is the 3rd thread of the day, thanks.
:rotfl::rotfl: If you're that concerned about "fanning a fire", then stop opening the threads because you're fanning the fire as much as anyone.

How about you stop "trying" (AND YOU ARE!!!!!) to control what posters want to say.

I totally agree with your OP Freya, and its pathetic how some Americans try to dictate what we are allowed to contribute to here.

Waits for some ugly response back as I'm not American!!!

I don't recall saying whether you love your country or not. I have no way of knowing how you feel about it. I only said what I feel. And you are certainly entitled to whatever opinion you choose to have, even if it is wrong. There is a difference in the two celebrations--you are simply refusing to see the difference.

You know what? Everyone keeps saying "we are not celebrating death" but am I? You are damn skippy I am. This man was the epitamy of evil. Everything he did brought the death of innocent people. He attacked OUR country on OUR soil! He killed Americans and for what crime? JUST BEING AMERICANS. He brought about one of the worst days in American history. So forgive me if I see no reason to have sympathy for this sorry excuse for a human being. I am rejoicing in the fact that tonight this man burns in hell.

Maybe now he feels what he did to those innocent people on 9/11.

You know what I am offended by, the video that was broadcast in 93 worldwide of the young American soldier dragged naked through the street of Mogadishu. That was a UN mission to feed the starving Somalis. That soldier was dragged through the street at the command of Bin Laden. Seems like people here have very short term memories of the atroscities this beast has inflicted on the world.

The National Anthem being sang on the streets of NY and throughout this country is a moment of pride.

ITA! This man was pure evil and the world is a bit of a better place today because he is no longer in it. Yesterday that soilder's death saw a little justice.

She was offensive to me and that is what matters, the singing of the National ANthem of our country being on our soil is a moment of pride and I will defend anybody's right to sing it.

Actually what's great about the USA is that we aren't forced to respect opinions we don't agree with ;) The OP certainly has the right to feel the way she does, I don't think anyone is denying her that. However, I'm certainly not going to respect anyone's opinion that compares the actions of those who celebrated in the streets for what was done on 9/11 and what we Americans were doing when Bin Laden's death was announced. Respect is earned, it doesn't have to be given freely, and an opinion like that doesn't earn it for you :thumbsup2

When there is a retaliation, and I'm positive there will be, it will be nice to know that some people will be thrilled at our devastation and loss because we deserve what we get for being ugly Americas.

I believe he is reliving every moment of terror and pain he caused in his miserable life, from the victims point of view, and their families. He's going to be a busy damned soul for quite some time reliving all of that. His book, his tale, his punishment.

Thanks! I didn't ask for your respect!:thumbsup2

I didn't realize that patriotism can also equal mean spiritedness.

Ugly Americans for wanting and celebrating justice, Stupid Americans for not wanting or celebrating justice. Either way, they have still been trying. Regardless of whether or not we killed Osama, they have STILL BEEN TRYING. So pardon me for not climbing on the "oh NO! we killed him how can we be so mean to be happy about it Wagon"

You could have kissed his feet and they would just as happily blow your head off or not. A group of psychopaths join together and play the religion card. Awesome.

As long as people post they were offended by the national ANthem being sang in our country on our streets I will post that I am offended, pretty small thing to do considering how many peopl have dies at the hands of a vile evil beast as Bin Laden
