Biggest Loser "Sizzlin' Hot" Summer Challenge

QOTD: Wednesday. What do we all love? Food, of course! If shopping isn't fun for you, Epcot is probably one of the best places to try new and interesting food. What is your favorite restaurant in Epcot and what do you like to order?

Extra Question: Pizza is one of my "binge foods", as I call it, because I usually end up eating way more than I am supposed to and it triggers something that makes me want to eat more and more junk. What is your trigger food and do you take it completely from your diet or eat it every once in awhile and just try to control those cravings?

Let's see. For sit down I like Biergarten, Bistro de Paris, and Akershus
At Biergarten I love their macaroni salad, rotisserie chicken, spaetzle, and apple strudel. I've never eaten a lot there though because while it's ok, I don't love german food.
Bistro De Paris - Hands down the Butternut squash soup, I could eat that all day long! They used to have a pork tenderloin stuffed with mushrooms, pasta gratin and truffles, oh trés magnifique! But sadly they don't have that anymore. Bistro is definitely indulging food wise.
At Akershus it's mostly the buffet, fish, and at breakfast they have a great potato casserole.

Counter service - Sunshine seasons and Yorkshire fish and chips
Obviously at Yorkshire I get the fish and chips.
At Sunshine Seasons I usually get veggie flatbread, the sushi or the fish.

My binge triggers are chocolate and bread. A lot of times one right after the other.

Hey everyone! So sorry I missed yesterdays question, just so busy it's ridiculous.

I've never been to DW, so I've never been to Epcot either. One of these years! Since I got serious about getting fit & healthy late March of this year, I have learned a lot about food choices and I don't have to take anything completely away, I can choose to eat a smaller portion or eat differently during my other meals to alot for the calories. A true craving needs to be fed or we will eat around it. Just eat it and move on. :) I don't really have true cravings, urges, yes, which can be ignored.

Evening all! Another busy day here, of course. DD had a local swim meet this morning with a 7:30 am warm-up time..... then we had lunch out with a few other swim families.

It was TOUGH to be good at lunch, despite my best attempt. I was VERY hungry and ate more of the lunch than I intended (as in ALL of it! :lmao: ), but I tried to figure out the Points and figured I ended the meal at 10 points (miso soup, 2 california rolls, chicken and asparagus, a small portion of rice). Only leaves me a few points for dinner, but unless I waaay underestimated the lunch, I should be able to stay close to my points for the day.

I have 2 points left for dinner to stay within my daily allowance, but I may use a "weekly" point or two if I am still hungry at 8pm.

Enough rambling about lunch!

DS took his first Tae Kwon Do test tonight (yellow stripe) and passed. I have never seen him do this stuff and it looked impressive. His instructor invited me into watch him break boards!

DD starts the DRIVING portion of driver's ed tomorrow after morning swim practice. I know she is nervous, despite the fact that she has been driving with me and my DH for 18 months now. It is different when you have an instructor AND a peer in the car I suppose.

Off to spend a minute on reading and replying before I have to dash out again!...............P

That soup sounds really good!! I need to try to incorporate kale into our diet...have yet to do that!

Just some encouraging signs after being on biggest loser for 3 weeks! I see collar bones!!! :) And what is even more amazing, is when I wear my sports bra to walk on the treadmill...I no longer have a uni****! :) I stopped wearing them for awhile because it was so unnerving to see my bOOks being smushed together...maybe it's because the sports bra is so much looser now and they have adequate space...whatever it is, it is a sign that my body is MORPHING into a more fit and healthy body!!! It is a wondrous thing!!

I have done much better this week on food, last week was a disappointment and would not get me to goal, still 'lost' but barely....so this week, I'm pulling out all the stops....watching very carefully what I eat and making sure it's a power food so I can keep up my 30 miles this week. Managed 15 last week but I had to be up at 5am (most mornings only had 3 hours of sleep thanks to errant puppies!) and drive 2 hours each day to get my son to rowing camp...I was just soo tired and we ate some meals on the go because of it...not happening this week!

Hope everyone stays strong and focuses on the fact that each loss represents a stronger and healthier you!!

I am Portuguese and kale and cabbage are litteraly a main food group. I find it so funny that kale has become the "it food" lately, because I've always eaten it, ever since i was a baby! My favorite is kale soup. It's so good, my mouth waters just thinking about it. My dad makes it from an old family recipe!

I only "count" it if it is a real "intentional" workout.... running, spinning, walking, weights, etc. That said, I don't ALWAYS do it in one solid segment. Sometimes during a busy day, I might just throw in 5 minutes here and there of stairs or squats (like when I am waiting for the toaster or something like that). I count all of the minutes together and usually try to hit at least 20, even on crazy busy days, but lately I haven't been doing well with that.

Well... better late than never, but here goes. I don't usually eat an a.m. snack (unless I'm at school), but if/when I do I usually go with fruit and/or cheese (handful of grapes and a babybel light or a light string cheese, blueberries or pineapple and cottage cheese go well too), or veggies and hummus (carrot/celery sticks and grape tomatoes), or sometimes just a few nuts (too many calories to have a full serving!). Throw in a cup of green tea, coffee, or a glass of water.

If you are REALLY craving carbs, how about a Vitamuffin (for something sweet), or a Bagel thin??

Sounds like you are ready to start that factory!

Huge congrats to 6ofus2 and ALL our BL!!

WOW! Enjoy both trips!!

CONGRATS my friend!!

Great job!!

Enjoy your vacation time if I don't "see" you before you leave!

How about a visit to a chiropractor? Is this a new pain or do you have experience with this in the past?

Sounds like you are doing well and set for a FABULOUS week!

****************

Morning friends and losers! Took DD to the first a.m. practice of the summer season. Left the house a bit early, as this is (yet another) new outdoor pool venue for us. Kind of "ghetto" inner city location.... the water was clean but the locker rooms were....:eek: I told DD to NOT shower and deal with it at home, but after today she will be going directly from a.m. practice to driver's ed on Tuesdays, so not sure what exactly she will do.

Got in a good walk/run during the first half of her practice. The area isn't totally familiar to me and isn't exactly a great section of the city, but I found a cemetary that didn't look to sketchy and really enjoyed my time. I stopped once or twice to take a closer look at a headstone and enjoyed the inner city wildlife (spooked a mother turkey and her babies nesting behind a headstone). May hit "main street" next time for a change of scenery.

Here is the newest creation that I have been enjoying.... it is a photo mosaic created by (duh) USA Swimming. DD submitted about 7 photos that are all included, plus a few of her swim friends submitted some that include her.... so she is on her about 10 times! If you want to see one, look on the top of the left hand point of the "N" in "swimming. It is a photo of her and Michael Phelps on a white background taken at a "meet and greet" that we did about two years ago in NYC. There is actually another photo of her with MP also, but that is the easiest one to locate. When I click on it through the USA site, it enlarges it, but probably won't on this.... probably need to provide a link later.

Off for a busy day, laundry, scrapping, dishes, and evening Driver's Ed and b.ball play-offs! TTYL..................P

ETA: Here is a link to the photo mosaic. Top of the "N" in swimming, a bit to the upper right point of that "N".... white background, MP plus DD in a white t-shirt and jeans.

http://usaswimming.mosaiclegends.com/

Also..... bottom right hand corner, second column from right, 7th photo up..... group photo of (some of ) DD's team after they won the GSSA championships last summer! (Group in black swimsuits or yellow t-shirts holding a green banner.... coach in yellow in front. DD is left-most swimmer in photo.

I think any kind of sausage would work for the soup. I didn't even notice it was pineapple sausage, but it kind of was the perfect summer soup because of it. I think you could really play around with it as much as you want, especially considering i just made up the recipe as i went.

I might look into a chiropractor, see if its covered by insurance. I'm still in so much pain, its crazy, my boyfriend is convinced it's stress and it very well could be.

Hey everyone! So sorry I missed yesterdays question, just so busy it's ridiculous.

The picture is from our trip in May to Via Napoli. We are so adventurous we went with pizza. :laughing: It was really good!

I feel so awful about not responding to you all lately, but I know you're chugging along and doing just fine because you are all awesome! I've been having a chocolate addiction lately and eating way too much of it, but so far so good this week. The Color Run is this Saturday and I am super pumped! :banana:

Have a great day!!

Cupcakes and potato chips are my week points. i just love a cupcake, and when i was really sick a few months ago and couldn't eat anything, potato chips were the only thing that didnt make me feel like poo so its a comfort thing now.

We love Le Cellier. It's my boyfriend and I's special date night restraunt, and on our trip last month we were supposed to go together and we were very excited but he ended up getting very sick with his sunburn and we werent able to go. I actually gave our reservation to a man and his son who were at the podium ahead of me trying to get a reservation for that day. I overheard and asked the host if they could just have my reservation cause i had to cancel it, and he pretended not to hear so we could exchange info (they are not allowed to do this apparently). After i gave them the info the host turned to the people and said "I just want you to realize what she's doing, we have a 6 month wait to eat here, so the fact that she just gave you her reservation is very very nice." I don't think the people quite understood cause they had never eaten there, but i'm sure they got it after their meal, and i felt good having spread a little magic through a VERY bad situation. (I was almost in tears having to cancel this reservation).

------------
I was bad and i called out of work this morning. I was just so tired! But i slept most of the day and feel a little rejuvinated. Eatingwise i was REALLY bad today but tomorrow is a new day!

I had dinner with a friend last night and it was nice to catch up, and just to talk to someone. I also convinced her to try running and i'm taking her tomorrow. I'm going to do the couch to 5k program with her and i hope she sticks with it because it will motivate me to be healthy and run more. i've never run with someone and im not sure how i'll like it but im willing to give it a shot

my mom is still away and its evident that without me or my mom my dad and brother just wouldn't feed themselves. i dont feel like making dinner for everyone tonight, so im just going to make myself a veggie burger and they can figure it out. i've made dinner 4 nights in a row, and neither of them has offereed to cook anything so i feel a little annoyed.

Ok, my laptop is overheating and its burning my hand so i must run. i'll check in tomorrow

QOTD:

Engand!! Fish and chips!!

My must have food is either a bag of cheetos, a small McD's fry, or a slice of Pizza from Sam's club...Sam's club solved that for me, their kitchen is under remodel for the next 2 months, so none of that! If I bought the whole pizza, I'd eat too much...so I guess on weigh day, I might let myself have a bag of cheetos...not sure yet...depends on how the weigh in goes..I do better staying STRONG on diet 5-6 days and having a day where my calories still stay below 1500 but I allow a cheat.

Pamela I found her!!!! That's the pic she send DS15. Man she has changed so much in the face since then.

I think the mosaic is awesome, I'm so happy she's a part of it!

Thanks for looking!

Pamela, love the photo of DD and that she is in the mosaic so much. How fun!

Is there an outdoor shower at the pool where she could rinse off instead of using the icky locker room before driver's ed? :scared1: Not ideal, I know but I think it is better to smell like chlorine that use iffy facilities.

I didn't seen any outdoor shower. Fortunately, her driver's ed student partner is also a swim friend (and ex-boyfriend :rolleyes1), so they will probably both end up at Driver's Ed smelling like chlorine! Yup.... definitely IFFY facilities.... think PRISON!!

Sorry about having to be two places at once! :flower3: Are they actually driving in driver's ed yet? I remember I used to be dropped off at home alot while we were out driving but that was way back when -- you know stone wheels and all . . . :rolleyes1

Driving time starts tomorrow. LOL about the stone wheels!:rotfl2:

Hope things are well with you Lisa!!

I sent my dad an email, 1st contact in over 2 years. He's said and done some pretty dispicable things since Josh and Maddie died. However, after thinking about it (and my grandma asking me to reconcile) I wrote him. I'm not expecting much. I just wish my family would stop living in the past and look forward in life. Have enough respect to respect me, my choices, and my decisions and we'll be fine. If you can't do that then I'll go back to not talking to you. I want happiness in my life not ridiculing, judgmental, negative people.

Nice of you to make the first move. It must have been hard.

Hey Pam, I found here. What a cool picture of her and Michael Phelps!

It is a cool photo.... there are actually TWO photos of her with MP and they are both on the mosaic.... that was just the easiest one to pinpoint. I took her to NYC for a whirlwind 48 hour trip to meet MP a few years ago. She found out about it and about 4 days later we were on our way. Drove 5+ hours on a Friday night, stayed on points at the TINIEST Hampton Inn I've ever seen right near Herald Square, saw Times Square in the dark, rose at the crack of dawn to be the first ones in line at Macy's in Herald Square (then got line jumped a few times), and then waited until the official 1pm meet and greet (which also required a $50 Speedo purchase in order to participate). Silly Mom that I am made TWO $50 purchases so she was able to return to the line and get a second picture with him! Don't regret one penny of it either! Then walked around NYC for a while, got her picture up on a billboard in Times Square (at the American Eagle store), and then drove the 5+ hours home with an EXTREMELY excited and happy daughter!!

I saw her today and she is filling a photo frame with pictures for my oldest son. There are 4 slots for the pictures. Now .... I am the one who has to supply the pictures. :lmao: She told me she needed a picture of all my sons. So, I took it down a week ago. Well, I took a long one down and she needed a sideways one. So today I brought her a whole bunch of pictures down and she put them in the frames and has everyone in the pictures (brothers, grandparents, husband) .... but me ... her daughter. She told me she will put a picture of me behind one of the ones she selected so I will be in "there". I just smiled and was laughing in my head ... and just try to be patient with her. I keep telling myself that my boys will remember how I took care of my mom and hopefully will show me this same kind of patience. However .... it is very difficult some days. I really understand.

Good of you to be so patient with your Mom..... as I'm sure she was with you at some point in your life. Isn't is funny how things go around?

Awesome afternoon :goodvibes is pouring rain here in FL, but I love the weather. Made stuffed cabbage rolls with lil princess that turned out great. Is so much fun having a daughter to cook with, son never wanted to, he was all into "boy" stuff. Anyway after cooking we got into our raincoats and DD and I walked to get mail. By time we did that we were soaked, so took off the coats and embraced the rain. We had so much fun running and splashing and jumping in the puddles. Lil princess had never done that before. She was giggling so much, her smile was amazing. Now she is wanting to go back out. Never going to have a storm now where she doesn't want to go play in the puddles. Neighbors might think we are nuts, but it was too much fun and with all the running and jumping and playing it was even a bit of a work out.

Awwww... how sweet! I miss those years! Kids really remember it when you occasional do something slightly nutty like that! You're a good Momma!!

Little bummed only 2 weeks into this and I've hurt my foot. I'm worried i may have a stress fracture I'm not sure. All I know is the tread mill kills it even in the pool it was hurting some. :(

OUCH! Get it checked out pronto! Don't want it to turn into a real fracture!

Ok strange question but does anyone know how one would make their own jam? I want to go stawbery picking, and i'd love to make jam or preserves, but i have no clue how. Is there special equipment I need, has anyone done this bebfore? Are there are any websites that give step by step instructions?

Thats all i have time for today, I NEEEEED to go to bed if im going to get up a 6am and work till 3 at the job i dislike tomorrow

Was gonna reply with "freezer jam" but I see that Dona already has. You do need pectin to make jam and (obviously) if you want to can it for the pantry, you will need jars, lids, etc. But freezer jam is SUPER easy and delish! I haven't done it in years though.

I have a bread maker that I can make jam in. I have made apple, blackberry and just yesterday strawberry. It is really easy. I believe I had 4 cups of chopped strawberries which I mashed (with a potato masher). Threw it in the bread maker, with 3/4 cup sugar, 1 T lemon juice (preservative) and pectin. Hit start. 1 and 1/2 hours later - I poured it into a jar. I did not seal the jars. I just put a screw on lid in the fridge because we would be using it right away. I believe you can do the same thing on the stovetop. I use Ball jars, lids, pectin etc. http://www.freshpreserving.com You will find some no sugar added recipes.

I bought a Ball Canning starter kit last year for $20. I have also "canned" dill pickles, salsa, tomotoes. Have fun - fresh is so much better.

That's neat! Never heard of a bread maker that did dual duty!

Congratulations to all our losers. I am a little behind keeping the first page of the thread up to date - but I promise to catch up this weekend. I am on my ninth day straight at work - only another 7 to go and I get 5 days off. I keep reminding myself it only happens 4 weeks out of the year. Want some cheese with that whine????? :rotfl: I will say DH is really stepping up - but I can't complain he always does. He did all the cooking for the week Sunday, has been keeping up with my daily laundry/housekeeping routines. (Thank you Flylady!!!) Even DS is making his bed and asking if things need to be done. Then again - he could just be nervous that grades come out this week!!!

Janis

Chuckling to myself about this statement as only the mother of a teen boy could! Take care of yourself this week!!

Google Freezer Jam. It is easy to make and you don't have to buy all the material to do the canning. Make sure that you get the right pectin for Freezer Jam. Then you just keep it in the freezer when it is done. It is a a little softer than store bought jam but even better tasting.

Here is a link to it.

Just what I was going to say.

QOTD: Wednesday. What do we all love? Food, of course! If shopping isn't fun for you, Epcot is probably one of the best places to try new and interesting food. What is your favorite restaurant in Epcot and what do you like to order?

Can honestly say I have only eaten in a "real" restaurant in Epcot three times.... on my honeymoon in 1992 we ate at the Norway restaurant (Akershus ) back before it was a character meal, and in the Biergarten in Germany. I remembered loving both, but opted to bring the kids to Biergarten in 2008. What a HUGE disappointment. None of us liked the food and the entertainment and atmosphere weren't anywhere nearly as appealing as I had recalled. Other than that we had mostly just "snacked" in WS (gotta LOVE the french bakery!!).

When DD and visited last year, we did a small-scale "eat around the world" tour! It was fun and not as calorie-filled as it sounds. We skipped Mexico.... DD got sick during a 2010 school trip and SWEARS it was something she ate there. We shared a School bread in Norway (based on recommendations here) and were a bit disappointed (too much like a donut), shared an order of potstickers in China, shared a pretzel (and beer for me) in Germany, got bubbly water in Italy (we weren't in a mood for pizza or gelatto and didn't see much else you could get counter service that was interesting), skipped America and Japan (returned to Japan later), I got a small portion of a couscous salad that I liked in Morocco to share (DD didn't care for it), shared two things from Boulangerie Bakery (can't remember what) and there isn't any counter service for Canada and we don't like Beaver Tails.

For dinner I got Fish and Chips and beer from Yorkshire County fish shop (second beer in one day.... I was TRULY on vacation!), and DD returned to Yakitori house for ?? Dinner lines were ridiculous.

It was SO MUCH FUN to try so many things and to be able to share and eat it without feeling too guilty and too stuffed!

I have a few trigger foods. I try very hard to not even have them around. If they are here, I try to PLAN for them, save them for a splurge day or holiday, or not even OPEN the package! Luckily for me, most of them are easy to avoid.

Top three trigger/binge foods (foods I have trouble controlling myself around).... oatmeal chocolate chip cookie dough, movie theater popcorn, sweet potato chips.

Kayla, let me know how the color run goes. I have a Groupon for the on in Pittsburgh ... however, they moved the location. Instead of it being 1/2 hour away, it is now an hour! Not too sure if I want to drive that far or not ... so let me know how it goes.

My trigger food is cake. We have a bakery in our town that is well known all around Pittsburgh. I used to stop there when I was having a stressful day ... not a good idea. I haven't done that for a really long time! However, we had our graduation cakes from there and I had a piece of left over cake every night for a week until I gave the last parts away. I can't have anything like that in my house ... way too tempting.

Good luck with this. We now have 2/3 boys driving. The funny part is my husband had more patience teaching my one son how to drive (he is a lot like me and we would drive each other nuts) ... and I was much more successful teaching my other son to drive (he is a lot like my husband).

Off to spend a minute on reading and replying before I have to dash out again!...............P

Favorite in Epcot? Oh geez...I love so much there! Although, I haven't ever had anything from the America section. I mainly enjoy the pastries in Norway & France. I also love Morocco's food. And, we had great meals at Garden Grille and Coral Reef. Plus, they have lots of yummy drinks :)

My trigger foods are sweets and bread. I love chocolate. I am a sucker for brownies or cookies. I try not to buy any or I will eat all of them. I also love bagels. Asiago cheese bagels from Panera are my favorite. Great. Now I'm hungry!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm sorry I don't have time for replies tonight. I spend the day getting everything for our trip and starting to pack. Tomorrow I am going to get the laundry done & finish packing. And, I have to get both pets packed to take them where they are going on Friday (dog to kennel, cat to my mom's). Oh, and on top of that, my car door handle broke today. So, I need to get it to the dealership tomorrow & hope they can fix it (DH tried but he said a cable broke)! If not, someone will have to open the driver's side door from the inside and we'll have to crawl over the console & out the passenger door while in NC! Yikes!
I am really hoping to try to stay on plan on vacation. It's hard at the beach (especially since it's supposed to be in the 90s). I'll want ice cream! At least I know I'll get my water intake. And, I hope I will be able to run. I don't want to make excuses, but heat & humidity may make my runs shorter or nonexistant.
Well, now that I've rambled on and on...have a great night!
QOTD for favorite food in Epcot??? hmmm well I have only done the princess dinner in Norway. Cannot remember how to spell that restaurant name. I wasn't terribly impressed with food, but character interaction was nice for niece. Cannot wait for lil princess to get into Disney Princesses (she is finally taking a wee bit of interest) I also have been to the English pub Rose and Something. I liked the fish and chips there, so I would say that was favorite so far. I felt more like I was in another country, it was nice to pretend. Now that live in FL we will have to go more often and try other restaurants. As for trigger food, I would say my mom's stew. I cannot just get one bowl, it has to be two, and then for some strange reason I crave chocolate ice cream afterwards. No idea why :confused3
Morning all! Up for another a.m. swim practice. The good news is that she goes directly from swim to driver's Ed today and the Mom of the other swim/DE kid is going to take them! So I can come home for a few hours! It is 90 minutes round trip to the pool though, so I'll still be gone a while.
Coffee smells good so I'm gonna dash for now! ..........P
Well.... I'm back, had breakfast, cleaned up kitchen, and chatted with my MOm for an hour. Next up is laundry onto the line and bed making.
I have been looking into airline prices to potentially take DD to YMCA Nationals at the end of July. I've found some decent prices with Southwest and I have nearly enough points to fly for "free".... but I'm hesitant to book it yet, as they haven't actually qualified. I know it isn't too hard to get the points put back into your account if you cancel, but I'd rather not deal with the potential hassle. But I'm afraid if I wait, I'll end up paying waaaay more. We will know by Sunday night if any of the Relays will qualify.... they are close to a cut time with the "BEST" relay group, but unfortunately one of their fastest swimmers has her Bat Mitzvah this weekend and won't get to be there.
Also swimming in Springfield, MA this weekend.... Friday night, Saturday afternoon, and Sunday afternoon. I have belated anniversary concert tickets for Saturday night, so my Mom is kind enough to drive to Springfield Saturday and take DD home with her at the end of the meet. Then I will drive home and meet DH for the concert and then drive to my Mom's Sunday morning to grab DD for a last session in Springfield. Yup, another crazy weekend.
Holding out NO hope for anything good on the scale this week, which is disappointing. I was hoping to be down some before July 4th craziness arrived. That said, we probably won't be at the Cape for nearly as long as usual. We usually are there for about 5 days, but with Driver's Ed and all we are probably only going to stay 2 nights (July 3/4), so much less potential for overeating! :thumbsup2
Brain is a bit overloaded for so early in the day thinking about upcoming schedules, so I'm gonna run. Maybe some brainless laundry will help! TTYL............P
Oh my gosh! I killed it! The thread is DEAD! AAHHH! Quick.... somebody post something and maybe we can save it! Where is everyone today???
Afternoon everyone! ::MickeyMo
Its been a lounge kind of day for me. I went to bed last night feeling pretty crummy. I was coughing my head off and my throat was killing me. I'm just taking it easy today. I took some Dayquil sinus and am sucking on a cough drop. It seems to be helping but I just have no energy. Alan is at the Chevy dealer taking care of something and I'm just a bump on a log today.
I don't have any high hopes for the scale tomorrow considering I'm not going to work out today. Hope everyone has a great weekend! I'm hoping I'll feel better and we can go to Disney and hang out. We were going to do it last weekend but the weather got in the way.
Sorry that I have been MIA the last few days. I had a work meeting yesterday and then today I have been packing up my desk, I am getting ready to move branches. Do not even want to know what the weigh in holds this week. Lunch out yesterday with some coworkers to stonefire grill, I tried to be good. I got an order of the salmon that ended up being in a brown sugar/seseme glaze, and a side salad that was drenched in dressing. The only good thing about it was that I did not eat my breadsticks. :lmao: Oh well it is back on plan today with drinking all my water and packed lunch.
QOTD Thursday: One of my favorite things about Epcot is Illuminations. Epcot itself is a celebration of all cultures coming together and celebrating each others unique differences and lifestyles. Illuminations reminds us when we work together we can achieve the impossible and make the world a better place. In your journey to health are you more of a team player, or do you do better alone? Do you belong to a sports team, have a workout group, or attend WW meetings? Since we are all here on the BL thread, I assume we are at least a bit of a team player and do better with encouragement from others!
In real life, I push myself harder alone. Making meals is easier with others but when I workout, I tend to talk when I am with friends rather than focus on my workout. I tend to keep to myself but I do love it here on the BL thread where we can give others encouragement or ask questions but we still have to have that outside motivation at home.
Once again, I'd like to apologize for missing a day and being late a couple times. I assumed picking a week a few after our WDW vacation I'd be less busy....:lmao: right. I've never had a week like this, and I literally sat upright when I realized I hadn't even visited DIS today. I will definitely report on the Color Run. We have to drive about 2.5 hours so we have to leave around 4AM to get to packet pickup in time. :scared1: I'll probably have a couple pictures too, but I'm really excited.
And now the rest of my day is filled with photos, baseball games, making color run shirts and getting this darned room clean!!
Have a WONDERFUL day. I've loved being able to insert a little Epcot talk into my life during this hectic week.
First off I have to say that I love the picture. Fireworks are one of my most favorite things. I am more of a team player when it comes to my journey. I think that I do better when I have support from others as well as providing them with support. I do not belong to any teams, and I have done WW in the past. The meetings really helped me, but I can no longer attend do to finances. I think that for me I need to have a support team because I need someone else to help hold me accountable. My husband is probably my biggest support and cheerleader, he buys me the right foods, and he stands in the kitchen with me when I do my weekly weigh-ins.
Read back a few pages-- looks like people are doing pretty well. Haven't been on much due to planning our Nov. trip. Kind of casually thought I'd check last week to see if HOJO posted et rates for Nov. yet and they had and our dates weren't in there so went crazy looking at other options before finally going back to my first choice --Desert Inn and suites. Caught up on what was going on at the park, found the best ticket prices etc. My husbands family was there this week-- leave it to them to be there at the busiest time of the year-- with cars land just opening and right before so cal is blocked...they can have it. Were going Thanksgiving week. The decorations will be up, my sons birthday is the 17th and we're actually going to be driving back Turkey day so won't be there for that madness. It just really works for us-- the park closes at midnight most our trip and 10 a few days. My son is such a night owl....Really looking forward to the xmas decorations. It'll be the first time we've seen the haunted mansion all nightmare before christmas. I'm actually really jazzed about Desert Inn and suites, being that close to the ped entrance will just be cool.
Something seemed to click in me this week and I think I'm back on track.I found some tinkerbell jeans at goodwill awhile back and they were tight 10 pounds ago so that's going to be my motivation. I Will wear them to Disneyland for our Nov. trip. I've had much better control over my eating.
The kittens are really progressing, they eat turkey, chicken, bacon, ham, sicilian pizza (lol crust spinach and all) my bagel and cream cheese...No cat food in any shape or form though. They still want the bottle -- but that's ok. They're starting to cautiously drink water from the moving water thing. I'm able to leave them on their own now as they are mostly interested in exploring the house and playing with each other-- as long as they have eaten...so I'm free to go work out more. :banana:
have a great day-- remember last chance work out....
In general, I'm kind of a loner-- and certainly work better alone. Never played sports so am kind of...well-- a bad sport lol. I hate losing at anything. But I do better losing weight when held accounted for and get encouragement from people such as yourselves. It is also valuable to know that others are fighting cravings, & overeating, when the numbers on the scale don't even make sense for all your efforts, etc.
