Biggest Loser "Sizzlin' Hot" Summer Challenge

Welcome to Healthy Habits Week 2: Main Street, USA

The wonderful feeling of seeing the castle
The smell of the bakery
Your child's first haircut
Grabbing a ride on the train
Meeting Mickey

What a great welcome to the Magic Kingdom!

Mini-Challenge #1: The bakery is calling your name. Breakfast is going to be off plan. Last week, you decided on the approach to take to lose weight or maintain your weight. Earn one point for following through with that plan on 5/7 days.

Example: Count WW points 5 of 7 days and earn 1 point.

Mini-Challenge #2: What trip down Main Street wouldn't be complete without using a Snack Credit for a bottle of water? Drink at least 48 oz. of water on 5/7 days.

Mini-Challenge #3: All that walking is great exercise! Did you make an exercise plan. Give yourself 1 point if you complete all of your planned exercise.

Mini-Challenge #4: I find Main Street relaxing. Perhaps its the excitement of the seeing the castle combined with knowing that I'm on vacation. Give yourself 1 point for spending time relaxing on 5/7 days.

Mini-Challenge #5: There's something about how the Magic Kingdom smells. I find it refreshing and welcoming. We're putting our laundry detergent to work. Give yourself 1 point for washing your personal sheets and making them small April fresh.

As always, please feel free to PM me with any questions or ask on the thread.

Please PM me your points out of 5 (ex: 4/5) for Week 1 by Monday, June 18 at 5 PM.

Have a great, op plan week everyone!

You do use your run/walk interval all the way through the race, Jill. A great place to start looking at Galloway programs is the RunDisney.com site. Here is a link to the half marathon training program for beginning runners for the January races but the information would apply to any race. http://as1.wdpromedia.com/media/ewwos/pdf/rundisney/training-programs/2013/WDWHALF13beg.pdf. Also, he has several training videos on the RunDisney site that he refers to in running school. His website jeffgalloway.com has a lot of great info and I would suggest getting one of his books.

It's good to start out easy and get a good base. The 5K plan will help you do that. It will be fun if your DS can do it with you. Unfortunately, I scarred my DS for life by having him do a 5 mile race with me when I was the poster child for poor training a couple of years ago and he has sworn that he will never, EVER run again, unless he is being chased by zombies. :rolleyes1

Oh and last but not least, do join us on the BL Runners and Walkers thread. Everyone is welcome! :goodvibes

BRB smilie police again :rolleyes1

Thanks for all the advice. I'll check out the websites & try to get on the BL runners & walkers thread. I don't know if I can handle 2 threads :lmao:

Pamela and Buffy~Typed you both PMs of the list and *poof* I lost it. When I tried to send the messages it told me some crazy excuse so it's gone. I'll have to do it again tomorrow. Sorry. I just don't have time to retype tonight.

Late check-in! Dreams QOTD...

Fitness-wise, I want to nail that half marathon in January. :) And, of course, I want to maintain and keep feeling as good about my weight as I do right now after finally losing the last of it this spring!

Life-wise...I want to travel more. Back to some places I've been and anew to some places I've only dreamed about visiting. I want to keep singing, maybe pull a band together again (I was in one years ago!). I want to raise happy, healthy daughters into happy, healthy women and not fall apart completely when I have to let them go out on their own.

Thanks, Lisa, for getting us all off to a great start this week! You're a great coach!

Two weeks from tomorrow, we leave on our podcast cruise/WDW vacation...still chugging away at work to get lots of projects wrapped up before we go. So far, so good - I'm determined to leave without anything major hanging over my head for when I get back!

:scared1: Our spa has sold over 250 groupons! Mixed feelings on this! I am going to be working like crazy for the next 2 weeks on my scheduled days. I told my boss that I can not work other times! We will probably be hiring some additional help at least on a temporary basis. The phone was ringing off the hook this morning at work. We don't have enough people to do all the services! This was not well thought out especially the timing as 3 of us are going on vacation over the next 2-3 weeks! Just hope people tip generously otherwise this won't be worth it for any of us! We are practically giving our services away and today was our first client using a groupon and she left an insulting amount for the amount of services she got! I have 16 massages to do in the next 2 weeks and I think 10 are groupon ones! Glad I have my regular clients who are always generous!

Sorry for venting but it's been a very frustrating day! I thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown answering the phones today. I don't like answering phones and telling people that we can't do the day they want. We are booking into September for some people! I'm so tired! I think I need something to drink and then head to bed! Got one client in the morning and then Carnival Day at Izzie's school and then Ash's play tomorrow night!

Won't have time to exercise but I should be counting the massages as exercise! I just have to control all of my eating the next 2 weeks so my clothes still fit!

TTFN :tigger:

QOTD Thursday, June 7, 2012: Is there something that you dream of doing just for you?

I've always wanted to live someplace that I can decorate exactly as I please. No restrictions from landlords, family, etc. Right now I am living in my late mother's house - and while I do have some of my own personal touches here and there - it is still my mother's house with all of her furniture and paint/flooring choices.

I keep a binder with pictures from magazines as inspiration/ideas for when I can finally do as I choose.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's a question for you guys:

I walk 3.5 miles, five days a week. Today, I was about a block away from finishing my walk and got the sharpest pain in my heel. I pretty much had to limp home. It has been a few hours now, and no improvement. Any idea what it could be, and how to fix it? :confused3 (FWIW - My sneakers are only about 2 months old and I didn't change anything to my walking routine.)

Good morning!!!

First of all I wish everyone great numbers on the scale today!!!!! I am pleased as peach punch about my number.:woohoo:

Second of all thanks to Lisah for a great starting week as Coach and CC for the awesome HH to get me started on the right track. :thanks: I look forward to week 2 with Dona as our coach and sm starting to prepare my questions for week 3.

Today is the start of the European Soccer Championships. I am not really a soccer fan except at tournament time. I just have to ensure that my exercise time does not get compromised by match watching. And will keep the snacking during the matches on the healthy side......no beer! :drinking1

Have a great day everyone!!

Another person wondering what quark is. Inquiring minds want to know . . .:cool2:

I think I can answer that! :goodvibes

Quark is a German dairy product, kind of related to cream cheese, but very low fat (well, you can get it with different levels of fat, but they are all much less fatty than cream cheese). In Germany we use it for cheese cake, but also mixed with fruit as a snack (like a yoghurt) or as a dip for vegetables. A very simple and standard dish here is potatoes boiled with their skin still on them with quark (often mixed with a few herbs) and in Northern Germany they pour a little bit of linseed (flaxseed?)oil over the potatoes.

If you want to know more, this is the Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quark_(cheese)

It is great as it is low in fat and high in protein. I love it and usually have several tubs of it in my fridge as a low calory/high protein/low carb staple.

Not sure how well it works with pasta, but I am very interested to hear how it worked!

Good Friday morning

Thank you Lisa for hosting last week.

This is a picture from one of my favorite rides in DW. Yes I love TT (I still call it the wedway people mover)

What is your favorite ride? YOu can answer for more than one park.

Have a happy and healthy day.

Yes I eat lots of quark too!!

It is a great source of dairy that is available very low fat. The kind I buy is 0.1g of fat per 100g of quark. A staple in my diet now actually. And it is also one of least expensive options I have for source protein (dairy protein) in Switzerland.

Laura! Great job on the walking!! It could be a heel spur...google those, the pain is pretty rough..it might help to go to the drug store and in the foot section find a ring for your heel...you stick it to your heel (kind of like a doughnut) so that you are not putting pressure on your heel...an anti-inflammatory (Aleve) may help over the course of the next few days..take care and hope you get relief!

About to do my morning weigh in, worked really hard this week, walking 3-6 miles everyday...joints are tender but I feel better overall!!

Wish I could check in more often, just busy with 3 teenagers these days!

:hmghost::hmghost::hmghost:HAUNTED MANSION:hmghost::hmghost::hmghost:

I love this attraction inside and out. I still remember my first time riding it and it breaking down briefly in the attic right next to a head that popped out and screamed.

I really like the new enhancements that have been put in place over the recent years as well. I don't miss the FastPass as I feel it ruined the attaction but I do miss the large gnarled tree that used to sit outside the main gates near Yankee Trader.

I used to work there and never tired of walking the belts and staring blankly into peoples faces as they entered. Ahhhh the ghoul ol' days.

One time we even had our Halloween party for all that worked the attractions in that area with a DJ in the courtyard of the Mansion and a buffet set up in the strenching rooms and entry parlor. There were fewer MNSSHP then so finding a free evening after park close was easier but we also got to benefit from the lighting effects for those parties for ours. REALLY COOL.

Needless to say, I never never NEVER miss this attraction when I am in the MK......and if you ever get to Paris, the Phantom Manor is just as cool but much more macabre. It has a western theme as it is in Fronteirland.

Week ended up ok...considering I gained 2 lbs over last weekend and lost that and then some I am ok...hopefully can get in some "real" exercise this next week since my back is starting to feel a little better..

Our manager started her vacation yesterday for 10 days and left with a message that she was resigning  her last day with us in 7/8...really kinda pissed as she was given the role over me without anyone knowing they were creating the position and I told the director my thoughts since she had job jumped within the organiztion 3 times in about 7 mths....guess I get to say "I told you so"
NOW they are going to post the position which I am nervous about because there are at least 2 others that want the position and sometimes leadership makes decisions for the wrong reasons and I am afraid that is going to happen here. Guess we will wait and see but going to be a stressful summer!

Well suppose I should get to work...catch up with you all later :)

I am down .2 (1 pound since I started back on mfp). And I am thrilled! Because after the way I ate at the beginning of the week, I just wanted to get through the week without a gain.:goodvibes

Hope everyone has a good weigh-in today.:goodvibes

I second this (and thank you for posting, LovingDisney ) :goodvibes for tomorrow!

:goodvibes to you, too, Michelle!

Thanks for another great HH, CC! Now I'm going to have that Main Street song in my head again today! :smickey: Have to go add my points for this week's HH. :cool2:

The runner/walker thread moves at a totally different pace! :goodvibes

You are in great shape and have a good fitness base and I think you will enjoy it. The best thing about it that you will find that you totally amaze yourself with what you are capable of doing! :cool2:

Tracey, good luck with the Groupon rush. :thumbsup2

Ouch! Sorry about the foot pain, Laura! :flower3: I second the suggestion of anti-inflammatory and maybe some icing. Also give it a rest for a day or two until the pain is gone before you try walking again. It can be frustrating trying to figure this stuff out.

I think I can answer that! :goodvibes

Oh, I love the People Mover, too, Dona. I was so happy when I went to WDW the first time in 2004 to find that they still had it as it has been gone from Disneyland for years.

I think Spaceship Earth is my favorite in Epcot.

Really what I enjoy as much as any attraction is riding the boats in Bay Lake and between MGM and the International Gate at Epcot. :rotfl:

You seem like the kind of guy who would be a perfect HM host, Christopher!

Did the WDW HM ever have the hatbox ghost? People are fanatical about the hatbox ghost returning for the DL HM but I don't ever remember it. But I do love the Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay -- even the monkey bride! :bride:

I would love to see Phantom Manor! I've heard the music on d-cot.com

I am happy with the number I have today. It is better than I deserved as I always went just a bit over my calories most days and had to rely on most activity. Now that my move is behind me and we are settled in I should be able to use this week-end for some serious planning and set the world on fire next week. :cool2:

Have a great day all!

QOTD: Favorite Ride
I am a coaster girl, through and through! So RnR and EE, for sure. I always ask to wait for the front row. :) When DH and I visited Disneyland last summer (our first time in years and first ever at CA Adventure), we rode CA Screamin' 8 times in two days! :)

Tracey, OMG, that Groupon rush sounds insane! I'm so sorry about the bad tipper. I tend to tip high on Groupons because I figure others are tipping low. So frustrating. I wish I was in your area and could get your Groupon, but I also wouldn't want to add to your stress. At least you can decompress once you're on the Dream! :yay:

I'm down today! Maintaining, but I'll take a pound down anyway. I had a rough couple of food weekends and really want to be back in control before we go on vacation.

Today we have DD5's kindergarten conference. She's in a private K this year as a "jump-started" (she started at 4). She's going to public K next year, and she's rocking the reading, so I'm psyched to see her assessment today.

Then DH and I are going out to lunch together and then on to FINALLY finish up our wills/estate plans with the attorney we're using. We've had our life insurance in place for ages, but it's so hard to think about those things. I'll feel so much better, though, when it's all sorted out and on paper. Today we sign everything, and then we're covered.

Then I'll hit Wegmans for the weekly shop, and then it's date night! We get two meals out together today, and a movie! In preparation, I had a giant fruit salad for breakfast this morning. I'm full and spent no points on it. :)

Happy Friday, everyone!

XO

It's getting hard because DS6 is still into kids programs. He still likes watching Disney Junior and cartoon (G rated) movies. DS9 is getting out of those (although I notice when we watch a cartoon movie, he still likes it), but he's not old enough for PG yet. It is hard to find good family movies. We just saw Pirates Band of Misfits at our $3 theater and it was pretty cute. Both DSs liked it and it was age appropriate for them. I use IMDB to look up movies. They have a parental warning section and it will break down every concern a parent may have. I started using it to review movies to show my kids at school (I teach History and there are a ton of good History movies~a lot are rated R for violence...hello? It's World War 2! There was violence!). I'm going to be using the site for family movies this summer.

Thanks for sharing about the IMDB. I'll have to look into it. I'm not always worried about movies being inappropriate, as we wouldn't usually consider anything "R" for the family.... but it is difficult to find something that is interesting/entertaining for all of us.

Well peeps, I have been cleaning and getting ready for my garage sale next weekend. Holy smokes! I knew I had a lot of boys clothes, but I didn't realize I have all the way back to 3T! DS6 wears size 6. I spent this morning organizing all the clothes by sizes. I hope some people in my area really need boys clothes! DSs have been helping me price things, and only 1 thing has been taken out of the sell piles. Of all things, DS9 wanted to keep a Thomas the Tank Engine movie. How funny! I have so many toys, house hold things, Halloween costumes, toys, bikes, a dog house, bookshelves, clothes, etc, etc. I just want everything out of my house. DSis is doing it with me. We always have so much fun. We try to have one each year, but skipped last year. This year we are having it at my mom's since she has more room and better parking. I called her today and told her to be expecting me to start bringing stuff over. It will take a lot of trips!

I'm going to get going and finish cleaning up before the in-laws arrive for a cookout. Have a great day!

Jill

Have a GREAT yard sale and make lots of money! Our town-wide yard sale day was last Saturday and I was going to head out to see what I could find, but since it POURED all day, I skipped it. It looks like some families are going to try and have their sales tomorrow instead, so I might find a few minutes and a few dollars to look around tomorrow. Baby/kids stuff usually sells well from what I've seen, so you should do okay.

Well I want to start by saying thank you so much to everyone for such a supportive first week . The something that I dream of doing just for me is to visit every Disney park and have plenty of time to enjoy them. There is nothing worse than being on vacation and being rushed to do things. Like many others I dream of doing one of the disney 5ks. I would like at one point in my life to be able to do all of them.

I feel great at the end of the first week, even if the scale does not show it. I have been at a plateu for about a month, but I know that without the support you have given me here this first week I would have just given up. I cannot say enough how much the support that I have received here has helped me this past week. So a big THANK YOU to all of my new friends.

You are WELCOME and we are happy to have you here. Hopefully you can kick that plateau out the door this week!

QOTD Thursday, June 7, 2012: Is there something that you dream of doing just for you? If you feel comfortable, please share or just share how you feel at the end of the first week of the challenge.

So many dreams:

Wear the shorts I have from when we lived in Hawaii
Run a Disney marathon
Walk the Camino de Santiago (500 mile trail through Spain)
be fit enough to walk the Camino de Santiago
Run a marathon at the Great Wall of China
Go to all the Disney parks

I'm sure there is more, but those are it for now.

I didn't know that they held marathons on the Great Wall! That would be AWESOME.... but I definitely wouldn't be getting a best time, as I would want to stop and look around a lot!

Pamela oh, I'm not buying bowling decorations, I'm making them!! How did I get volunteered to do this???

You are NUTS! :rotfl: Have fun making those decorations. Do you have a Cricut cart that has bowling stuff?? I say go with basic balloons and streamers and just a few bowling-related centerpieces and call it DONE!

**********************
I cheated today, I ate a candy bar. So now the kids are going to torture me with a 3 mile run on the green. Honestly all I really want to do is take a nap. LOL
YES!!! DH is done with his stupid phone calls today!!! Bout darn time!

Hope the run was fun at least! (BTW, what kind of candy bar??:rolleyes1)

QOTD Thursday, June 7, 2012: Is there something that you dream of doing just for you? If you feel comfortable, please share or just share how you feel at the end of the first week of the challenge.

This is my honest answer. No dreams right now. The ones I had (and there were a lot of them) were all smashed about 3 weeks ago when I found out fiance cheated on me. So no more him, just me and my kids. Now trying to find new dreams. Until then I am in the "just keep swimming" stage. I can be polite and say I exercise to be a healthy and more active mom with my kids, and it is true, but reality is I am here and working out, because I don't have any idea what to do now. So maybe by time I figure it out, I can be a bit healthier and look better.

I am SO sorry for your problems right now. Good for you for moving forward in a healthy way, with the exercise, rather than wallowing in calories. You WILL come out the other end of this healthier, stronger, and happier. Comfort eating right now will just bring more pain in the end. I'll be praying for you and the kids.

Something I would like to do for me? My dream is to finally be at a healthy weight. I need this more than I ever have. I was at a healthy weight for a few years right before I had kids. That was it. The rest of my life has been unhealthy. This has to be the time that I stick with it and make it a lifestyle change, not just a temporary "diet," you know?

Hope you are all having a great OP day!

Just KNOWING that it cannot be temporary is a great step in the right direction! I see success on this journey in your future!!

BAMB!! -- Awesome that you were able to wear the heels. I can't wear heels due to my cerebral palsy. I'm constantly tripping over my own feet. If I had heels on and tripped I'd bust my butt,

No CP here and I STILL risk tripping over my own feet and busting my a** every time I wear heels, so you aren't alone! But I will say that heels are growing on me.... I actually tried on three pairs of wedge heeled sandals on the clearance rack at Marshall's earlier this week (when I was supposed to be shopping for DS's semi-formal clothes...:rolleyes1). I didn't buy any, but it was fun to try them!

PAMELA -- I'm always amazed at how much you and Tracey have to do during the day. It makes me tired just reading about it.

Just doing what I have to do! With two busy kids and a bit of OCD about things like making beds, I don't always have a choice! :rotfl2:

QOTD Thursday, June 7, 2012: Is there something that you dream of doing just for you? If you feel comfortable, please share or just share how you feel at the end of the first week of the challenge.
I feel confident at the end of the first week. I'm finally happy that healthwise things are going to get figured out and some things are starting to make sense. I've finally accepted that my body is going to lose a half a pound to a pound a week, nothing more. It took awhile to swallow that pill but it is what it is.

As far as doing something for myself I'm planning on buying myself a reward this weekend. (I'll post about it after I finish up replies).

I also at some point want to work for Disney World. They are hiring like crazy right now but I'm waiting til beginning part of next year. I want to figure out all my medical issues right now.

I want to get to my goal weight (which I know will take forever and a day at this rate,

But out of all of these I want another baby. I can't even put into words how bad I want this. I miss Maddie every day.

So many big important dreams. Not sure what God has in store for your future, but every moment you spend getting healthier, that future is looking brighter, right??

I'll say a special prayer for your baby dreams.

Okay, well as of yesterday I'm down 30.4 pounds since May 18, 2010!! Well, I told myself at the beginning of the year for each 10 pounds I lose I'm going to reward myself with something. I have yet to figure out what that is right now :lmao:. I'm still thinking, I just can't make up my flipping mind. I'm thinking Bob Harper's newest book but I keep going back and forth. Maybe a trip to World of Disney at DTD...

I peeked at the scale this morning and I'm less then 3 pounds from ONEDERLAND! AHHHH!!! The suspense is killing me!!!

WOOOHOO!!!

Its been raining on and off here most of the day. I didn't fall asleep til the wee hours of the morning and was woke up from a dead sleep due to thunder. Yes, I may be almost 30 years old but I'm still a chicken when it comes to thunderstorms. I can't stand them. I'm going to get some strength training done later and just relax. I didn't get a whole lot done today.

I finally did however make some progress with the whole medical issue I've been dealing with. My doctor told me almost 2 weeks ago she thought I had PCOS (by looking at old test results my old GYNO did in TX). She referred me out to a reproductive endocrinologist. The closest one to my house was 30 miles and after calling their office 3 times over the course of the last week and a half NO ONE has gotten back to me.

I finally took the advice of a friend and called Tricare (military insurance) and complained and asked to be referred to someone else. The lady was very helpful and told me to go on the website and find a new RE, make an apt, call back and give the info to Tricare so they could change the referral. After a few minutes of helping me navigate through the website I found one.

The only problem? The closest one to my house is over 70 miles away (one way) in Tampa! OYE!! After talking with Alan and one of my friends whose also having fertility issues I've decided I'm calling the office in Tampa on Monday. Yes, I may have to drive over 100 miles RT but I want a diagnosis. I want to know what's wrong and get this ball rolling. I'll keep everyone posted and hopefully this office can help me. I did some googling and found the doctor's office and found out that she is the number 1 rated fertility specialist in the state. Fingers crossed that this works.

Things will work out, I have faith. If you have to do the drive, then DO IT! It will be worth it to get some answers and move forward.

I really like the standing work station. It's an alternative station so I might feel differently if I was standing there all day right now. DH is going to build standing stations for our offices also. I'm getting used to the stairs, too. It's not too bad until about the last half dozen steps on the last flight -- I'm always afraid someone is going to introduce themselves to me when I am huffing and puffing and wonder what the heck is going on.

I want to build a treadmill work station. I figured that if I could DIS while walking, it would be a win-win!

The beautiful Wishes picture is from the photos area of the sister board of the Disboards, wdwinfo.com They have a nice slideshow of Wishes. Just another reason to love the Disboards.

I've seen the photos over there. It makes me realize how bland and pedestrian my Disney pictures are... I have "borrowed" one or two to use in my scrapbooks when I am missing a crucial picture (usually from a ride or something else difficult to photograph, like Fantasmic). It makes DD NUTS that I "borrow" these photos (somehow she thinks I am "cheating"), but I explained to her it isn't like I'm trying to pretend that we did/saw something we didn't.... we experienced it but I just didn't get a good photo!

BRB smilie police again

I'm sure they will be after me when I try to post this!

Thanks for a quick memory trip down Main Street! Every once in a while I'll catch a smell and it will remind me of Disney.... it happens to DD as well. We usually start shouting..."Can you smell it?? Can you smell Disney?" (Yup, we are certifiable Disney geeks!). I want my sheets to smell like DISNEY!:rotfl:

Pamela and Buffy~Typed you both PMs of the list and *poof* I lost it. When I tried to send the messages it told me some crazy excuse so it's gone. I'll have to do it again tomorrow. Sorry. I just don't have time to retype tonight. Jill

No worries!

Late check-in! Dreams QOTD...

Fitness-wise, I want to nail that half marathon in January. And, of course, I want to maintain and keep feeling as good about my weight as I do right now after finally losing the last of it this spring!

Lots of great dreams. Good luck with the "not fall apart completely" part. DD is finishing her junior year of HS right now and I am already dreading letting her go next year at this time! :sad1:

Thanks, Lisa, for getting us all off to a great start this week! You're a great coach!

Two weeks from tomorrow, we leave on our podcast cruise/WDW vacation...still chugging away at work to get lots of projects wrapped up before we go. So far, so good - I'm determined to leave without anything major hanging over my head for when I get back!

XO
Liz

Can't wait to hear all about the vacation!

Our spa has sold over 250 groupons!

TTFN

WOW! Lots of groupons!! Sounds like the person in charge didn't think this through completely. Hopefully you can make the best of it and make some extra $$.

Good morning!!!

First of all I wish everyone great numbers on the scale today!!!!! I am pleased as peach punch about my number.

"Diet" peach punch, right?? ;) Glad you had a good week.

Second of all thanks to Lisah for a great starting week as Coach and CC for the awesome HH to get me started on the right track. :thanks: I look forward to week 2 with Dona as our coach and sm starting to prepare my questions for week 3.

I agree... week one was GREAT, week two will be TERRIFIC and I can't wait to see what you come up with for week three!

Today is the start of the European Soccer Championships. I am not really a soccer fan except at tournament time. I just have to ensure that my exercise time does not get compromised by match watching. And will keep the snacking during the matches on the healthy side......no beer!
Have a great day everyone!!
Christopher

Enjoy your healthy sporting events!

I think I can answer that!

Umm.... around here we clean paint from our paintbrushes with linseed oil! JK.... flaxseed oil is a more familiar term for food in the US. Sounds good! Anything that is like cream cheese but low fat can't be bad!

Question of the Day

What is your favorite ride? YOu can answer for more than one park.

Have a happy and healthy day.

Oh my! Tough question! I'm gonna have to list one for each park....although even that will be tough.

MK - Just can't decide!!!!!

Epcot - Soarin'

MGM - Rockin' Rollercoaster

AK - Kilimanjaro Safari.... I guess.

Sounds like fun times when you were working for the Mouse!

Week ended up ok...considering I gained 2 lbs over last weekend and lost that and then some I am ok...hopefully can get in some "real" exercise this next week since my back is starting to feel a little better..

Glad you are "okay." :thumbsup2

Well suppose I should get to work...catch up with you all later.

Best of luck with the job situation!

I am down .2 (1 pound since I started back on mfp). And I am thrilled! Because after the way I ate at the beginning of the week, I just wanted to get through the week without a gain.

Hope everyone has a good weigh-in today.

SO glad to see that you popped on! And glad that you were happy with the scale.

I am happy with the number I have today. It is better than I deserved as I always went just a bit over my calories most days and had to rely on most activity. Now that my move is behind me and we are settled in I should be able to use this week-end for some serious planning and set the world on fire next week.

Have a great day all!

Another friend happy with the scale!! This sounds like it was a good week for everyone!! Can't wait to see next week's FIRE!!:furious: (Okay.... I know that this smilie looks MAD.... but it was all I could find for fire! )

***************

HAPPY SUNNY FRIDAY!!!:sunny:

Not working today.... kind of mixed feelings about that, as the year is winding down and it would have been nice to have one more big paycheck. But glad to have the day to myself.

DD won a GREAT award last night!! DISTINCTION in AP Chemistry! SUPER, DUPER proud of her! She was afraid it was "just" going to be a gym award (although I told her I'd be proud of that as well). And despite getting started late, the ceremony wasn't painfully long. It was supposed to start at 7:30 but didn't actually start until about 8:05 pm.... but we were out of there by 9:15 pm.

Another one of those "so much to do that I don't know where to start" days! First of all, gotta strip my bed and wash the sheets to earn this weeks' HH points (plus it was scheduled to be done today anyway!). I'll strip both my bed and DD's bed.... did DS's earlier this week. Then maybe a swish of the toilets and run the vac around....then I'll decide what's next.

DS's semi-formal dance is tonight, so I must get his new clothes ironed up too.

I had a good number on the scale this morning, but may take one more peek tomorrow before calling it "official". I KNOW I need to move more, but as I mentioned, I've been doing great with the food.

Love to sit and chat more, but I've been on here reading and replying for too long as it is! I'm burning daylight!!....................P

pjlla, I meant to respond earlier on your movie question and forgot! I really like Common Sense Media. Their website has great movie guides, and you can sign up for newsletters from them. I think they're doing great work for choosing media responsibly (and they don't stop at movies, so you can get all kinds of info on TV, games, etc. there, too).
