Biggest Loser Red Team Week 3

Add another 40 min for me. So I rode the bike for 90 min altogether today. :cheer2: :cheer2:

The kindergarten kids didn't really want me to read the books to them today they just kept talking. Once they were quiet enough they liked the books ok.

bcvprincesses--great job on the exercise.

Has anyone had fruit today? I had celery and pineapple for lunch, so I thought I'd ask.

Marty

OMG you guys are so going to want to kick me out!! I am having so much trouble. I haven't worked out at all this week (dh and I have plans to this weekend) and I just don't feel good. We went out to Ruby Tuesdays last night and I had fried onion rings and chicken tenders, oh and a brownie. I did weigh myself this morning and I am down 1 1/2 from tuesdays weigh in. I just love food to much! HELP!!

Agotta we would never kick you out. Are you feeling any better yet? It's hard to eat what you should and exercise when you don't feel well.

Can your husband give you support when you eat out? It's not fun to watch him eating something junky if you're not eating it is it? Mine is not eating in front of me if he snacks on anything.

Have you tried journaling what you eat? Sometimes I don't realize how much I'm eating until I do this. We all struggle here and there. Sometimes when I need help during the day I go and read some of the WISH journals.

Thanks Marty. I am the one who eats the bad stuff. Dh would be so good if it weren't for me. And he sympathizes a bit too much. He knows food makes me happy and would do anything to make me happy

I am feeling a bit better, the dizziness just comes and goes now.faint :faint: Journaling might be a good idea. I was tracking what I ate on a whiteboard on the fridge, but that didn't last long.

Amanda, you HAVE to stay! No getting out of this now:sunny: Would a little short walk help you out of your slump? I know I was feeling a liitle down today myself...so rather than sit and stew in it...I went for a little walk during lunch. Please add 20 minutes to the team exercise total! Anyway, I was thinking the brownies from yesterday sounded mighty good....so, I told myself if I went for a walk, I could have one! Knowing I CAN have one if I CHOOSE to have one makes it that much easier to say NO! So Amanda, take it in little steps....try saying no to a bad food chioce...just one....and yes to some sort of activity....even if it is just for five minutes, or getting up off your butt and changing the channel.... :goodvibes it is the little victories that get you ready for the big ones.....and the little ones are so easy to do. So RED TEAM....get moving!!

So for me today, No to the Brownine, Yes to water instead of soda, yes for a little walk and yes to a healthy breakfast or yogurt and a "specail" cupcake, and lunch of a turkey sandwich and some pasta salad and mandarin oranges.

Who else has some victories to share?

Hey you guys......not to get you out of your comfy chairs or anything...but the blue team is killing us on this exercise challenge thing! We only have 6.333333 hours in to date. Monte and Doombuggybabe, I need time totals for your exercise....it is not in the above total because I only had mileage....please convert that to minutes for me so I can get it averaged in our time!

So, with that being said......I am going to commit to another half hour walk tonight when I get home from work! Do any of you realize that is it Thursday night? my BIG TV night? Anyway, who else is willing to get up and at it with the exercise? Any more takers on some more exercise? We can do this!!!

GO BIG RED!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hi Liz! Keeper of the exercise flame!

Mark me down for 40min today, 30min of exercise and then a post lunch 10min walk. :)

Agotta - You stick with us!!! We will not kick you out no matter what!!! I was at a real low place myself last night, I was set off by a Pizza Hut commercial and I went wild with hunger for yummy, greasy pizza hut pizza. And I was like "Screw this, i have lost enough, I want the pizza!!!!" It may sound silly but I really had a rough night with it. I told myself I would sleep on the feelings and see how I felt today, and I woke up & said "Today is a new day!!!" I have set up my dinner plan for tonight so that I can have a piece of pizza with it and that will help with my craving. I will also make my completely on plan deep dish pizza quiche this weekend if it is still bugging me. :) I hope that you can find a way to get back to a good place for yourself. I think we all love food, that is how we ended up where we are. I find that when I focus on healthy, high quality food that I put care into preparing I am more satisfied with a smaller portion than when I eat a ton of convenience foods that I just grabbed. Again, stick with us, the Red Team rocks and so do YOU!!! :teeth:

Hope that everyone else is having a rock solid day!! :)
Mike :goodvibes

Way to go Mike! I had that same fight with a cupcake last week! So good to know you won!!!! For me it was 265 pound me vs a 4 oz. cupcake!!!!! So good to know I can taek 4 oz. head on!!! :rotfl2:

BTW.....Pizza Hut has really crappy pizza anyway! So true about being mindful and healthful in preparing a meal over the convienent stuff! Rock on brother!

Go team!! We rock!!

hi all :wave2: :wave2:
i'm the newbie on the team---

just wanted to wish everyone much success!!!

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the Red Team- njcarita! :wave2:

Tonight I am committing to getting on the TM. I'll post this evening my total time. Who's next. We can't let the blue team win this challenge. I'm going to committ to going and walking at least 40 minutes at lunch tomorrow.

Thanks for all the support guys! I didn't get any excercise in today, I had to go to the dentist again :guilty: We went grocery shopping though and I was very good. I bought low-fat frozen fudge bars (only 2g fat each!). Hopefully this will cure my chocolate cravings. I also got hershey kisses that DH is keeping. So when I need real chocolate, he will just give me 1 or 2 pieces. We also got fresh subs for dinner and I got mine on whole wheat :)

I hope everyone is doing great, and I promise to get some excercise in this weekend!!

Mark me down for a 30 min walk today even though I feel yucky. My allergies are really bugging me and all I want to do is sleep. I said no to a cookie today at work about 30 times and did not eat it. I am saving my points for a WW ice cream bar while watching Survivor tonight. Tonight is also my big tv night.

Hi Red Team,

I just got done doing 60 minutes on the TM! 4.50 miles. Woo hoo! I feel good. Who's next??

bcvprincesses- Way to go on the 30 minutes and saying no to the cookie! Keep up the great work.

Agotta- Sorry to hear you had to go to the dentist again. Sounds like you are making great snacking choices to help the chocolate cravings.

I hope you all had a great day,

Hey everyone...
Somehow, I missed a turn. Which is not all that unusual. When did the exercise challenge show up? And when did we start tallying, Tuesday? If so, my numbers are 100 minutes for Tuesday (walking and Jorge), 160 for Wednesday (walking, Jorge, and mowing the lawn), and 30 for Thursday (Leslie Sansone and Jorge). I'm actually pretty proud of myself, because I didn't think I'd get anything in today. I've been going since 5 this morning, and was only able to do a bit of working out starting at 11 p.m. I think I'm starting to get into this exercise thing. :cool1: Whouda thunk it?
Eating has only been so-so, however. Did pretty well today. Two reasonable meals, a snack of lowfat pretzels. But Wednesday? Bleah. I have a confession. The cinnamon donuts called, and I caved. For the first time in a month. Sigh. Oh well. I'm trying not to beat myself up too badly. Today I just got back on the horse, and I'll try to stay there.
Anyway, let me know if you need any more times from me.
Keep moving,
Laura

GOOOD MORRNINNNGG!!!

Ok, so I am going to start out today being good with a bowl of Total Raisin Bran and a banana.

I am not sure if I am going to get any excercise in today because I have to work until 5:30ish then I have to head over to our local community college to sell some books. I run a real estate school and we hold one of our classes over there. Time to get those students ready for their exam!!

Anyway, good breakfast. I only ate half of my whole wheat sub last night, so that is the other half. And we are having tacos for dinner with lean hamburger meat. We usually make them with chicken, but once in a while we need to change it up

Everyone is doing great and I am soo sorry I haven't contributed to the excercise challenge. I woke with a bit of dizziness again this morning, so I slept in :guilty: I promise though, DH and I are going to be so busy this weekend!! My goal is for at least 250 minutes of excercise this weekend.

DoomBuggyBabe- You have been doing great. Don't let the donuts get you down!! I have ate some pretty crappy things this week too. :grouphug:

Ohh, did anyone watch the apprentice last night? I missed last weeks because DH and I agreed we wouldn't get hooked on another show, but when I went to bed he watched it!! So last night we watched it again, and boy that Marcus really gets on your last nerve!!!!

I haven't been able to get back to the boards much since Tuesday. Lots going on with everyone. I walked for 20 minutes this morning. Not much, but will pick it up this weekend. We are camping with DS and Scouts so I'm taking my Garmin and walking the trails while they are participating in their activities. I'll report my total minutes when we get home on Sunday.

Stay focused everyone and have a great weekend.

45 minutes yesterday of walking. I had to take DS16 to work, so I joined the WELL OVER 65 group walking in the mall before it opened. Boy did I get some looks and some RUDE remarks because I was there and not 'of our set'! I was amazed. Nonetheless, I did 45 min, THEN I shopped for about 3 hours!! Not counting that, tho!!

Just finished my 4 MI WATP this morning, so another 55 min today. WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!

Get moving, REDS!!!

Have a great Friday!

Add another 90 min for me today. I did Aerobic Body Shaping and rode the bike.

We're having smores tomorrow so I upped my minutes so I can have one. I'll savor the one I get to eat!

Julie, I didn't know the over 65 set still had cliques. What a rebel to walk anyway ;)

I forgot to add that I've said no to drinking anything but water this week.

Have a great weekend.

Marty

Good morning everyone,

I got out of bed sore this morning. The weight work from Thursday night and the really hard running/walking I did last night really had me feeling it! It felt really good though. I had planned on getting up in the morning tomorrow to run, but I found out I have to be at the football field at 7:45am to travel to the game that is at least an hour away. I'll make sure i do it in the afternoon. DH is going away on a military trip for 2 weeks tomorrow. The next two weeks will require real discipline on my part in order to get the kids to activities and fit my exercise in. I know I can do it, I just have to stay focused.

Laura- Don't worry about the cinnamin roll. Its going to happen in life and this is all about a "lifelong" plan you can live with. I find that if I indulge sometimes, my body actually needed the extra fat and calories and I end up loosing more. We started the exercise challenge from Wed-Tuesday this week against the red team. Its a new challenge to get us all moving.

Agotta- Great job in having a plan for your food for the day. I hope you and DH get that exercise in. I know it helps relax me when I'm stressed and busy.

Tammy- Have fun this weekend with your son. I'm sure you'll get lots of miles in!!

Goldcupmom- I can't believe they were making remarks. People are so funny and can be such busybodies. I'm glad you stuck your ground and got your exercise in. Way to go!

Marty- Enjoy your smores tomorrow. You deserve them.

I'm not sure if I'll get my exercise in at lunch today. I really need to get Ryan a jacket during that time. This way he has it for the ride to the game tomorrow. It's getting cold here in the mornings now. It was 43 degrees this morning. I can't find his from the spring. DH seems to think he lost it at school. No one ever tells me these things till its crunch time. I will get some time in this evening though.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning!

I took a 35 minute walk last night. I didn't do any walking on my breaks because it got up to 100 yesterday. Today it is supposed to be a little cooler so I will try and get out there. My plan was to do a video in the evening but I started watching Will & Grace.

I did keep myself from stopping at 7-11. I like their tuna sandwiches, but they are really full of fat. So I kept on driving.

Have a great Friday everyone!! :cheer2:
