Biggest Loser Challenge for the Wii...

This is exactly how I feel! I have never been one for video games but I like this game and it keeps me working out as I don't want to miss one of my routines! I currently have it set to 5 30 minute moderate workouts a week. Sometimes I think I'd really like to do only 4 days but I need to keep going so am afraid if I miss a day I'll regret it so I'm keeping these setting till it gets too easy for me. (Which could be awhile!)

I know what you mean!! I love it. I am also doing the 30 minute moderate workouts and they really get your heart beating quick. I am going to try to do them every single day, even on the weekends, but we will see.

I was wondering when I should bump it up, but I think 30 minutes is plenty for me right now. My next goal will be 45 minutes. Maybe in a couple of weeks or so I will feel like moving it. I am so sore right now!

Have you bought the game yet? I am really feeling it tonight. :lmao: I got on the wii fit and did a few of those things before dinner and I am so proud!! My DD said that she is going to start this with me tomorrow, and I have a friend of mine that's coming over tomorrow to try it too so it should be fun.

I'm starting it tonight I got it yesterday but I had to work late last night so I didnt have a chance.

At my gym you can get a personal trainer for 8 sessions for free then you have to pay a fee for anything over that.. I figured 2 sessions a week for 4 weeks I should be able to take over after that.

That sounds like a great deal!! What gym is it??

Let us know what you think about it!! My DD (18) played it with me after school today and it just about killed her. :rotfl2: I like playing with two people at the same time though because it made the time go by faster. :thumbsup2

That's a GREAT deal at your gym!! I have not been to a gym in over a year. I am hoping to get back into it soon, but until then this has been great for me. :goodvibes

Hello Everyone!

I've had the Biggest Loser Wii but haven't had the motivation to start it--until I read this thread! :thumbsup2 So, I broke it out today & got started. I do like the way it's set up--it seems easy to follow & yes, I was worn out by the time I was thru! One thing that I plan to pick up is one of the silicone covers for my balance board--when I tried doing the pushups my hands kept slipping since they were a little sweaty. :confused3

I definitely think this is doable for me & plan to keep up with this while mixing things up with the Wii fit plus occasionally. Are any of you using both? I'm confused about my weight because the Fit Plus shows my weight as 3 pounds lighter than the Biggest loser--it's driving me nuts wondering which is more accurate! I do know that we used the stat portion of the fit plus to weigh our dog & that was right on with his weight. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the lower # is the right one! :rotfl:

Good luck to everyone! We can do it! :thumbsup2

 YAY!!! I'm glad someone else has joined us!!:cool1: I am also doing both of them. I will weigh again today, but I was 3 pounds more on the BLC than I was on my home scale. I'll see what the wii fit says today and let you know.

So far, I have lost three pounds doing this and watching what I have been eating. My weakness is the weekends though.I can lose two pounds or so, and gain it right back over the weekend.:headache: I have got to push through and watch what I eat over this weekend. It's hard with the kids & DH home, and going out to eat. I am determined to do this though so this weekend will be my first real challenge. I just got to think "I CAN DO THIS!!".

I just weighed on the BLC & the wii fit plus, and I am 2 pounds more on the BLC than on the WFP. Weird!!

I started last night and did the less then 30 minutes new beginnings program.. i plan on doing that 3 times a week then 2x week at the gym doing the weights circut then 1x weekly riding the bike or using the treadmill.. I really want to do the walk to the world thats my motivation for my august trip!

On top of all that shoveling is also a very good work out :rotfl2: it took me 2hours to shovel my driveway this morning..

Thank you for checking that--glad to know that it's not just my balance board that's out of wack! So, it sounds like the Fit Plus is closer to the true weight if that is what is almost matching your scale. I'm just signing up for the Biggest Loser challenge on this board so I was wondering which weight to go by for the weigh-ins. It doesn't matter for each specific game since you'll be pretty much be losing the same amount of weight when it comes down to it.

Darthspud--I hear you on the shoveling as a form of heavy duty exercise! We haven't been getting hit nearly as hard as the East coast but have had our fair share. I figure it's a free form of an intense workout! :thumbsup2

I'm all for sharing our experiences with the Wii if everyone wants to post on this thread. It will be nice to see how everyone does with this!

We just got a real scale and on that I weight 2.4lbs more than the Wii Fit. I then realized that the Wii Fit asks how much my clothes weigh and I always select 2lbs so with that the difference is only .4lbs which is pretty close. My BL game and my Wii Fit have also been off by about 2lbs which makes sense.

Well, that makes sense then!!:rotfl2: I also said that my clothes weighed 2 pounds on the wii fit. Both of them are still off from my home scale though, by about 2 pounds. I like my home scale better.

My friend came over today to work out with me & my DD and she loved it. I also did the wii fit plus for a few minutes (15), and tonight DD and I did about 15 songs on Just Dance. I hope to do just as good tomorrow. :cloud9: It feels so good to be back in control!!

Wow, I'm so glad the mystery is solved--I never even thought about them asking about how much your clothes weigh on the Wii Fit! :thumbsup2

We have Just Dance & Just Dance 2 so I am going to throw that into the mix of exercises too--I love those games! I can't believe this but I am actually liking doing the run programs on the Fit--I did the 2 person run with my DS5 yesterday & that little pistol took off & left me in the dust, laughing a me all the way! :rotfl2: Oh well, I'll take it as great motivation to keep him moving & even more motivation to get myself in shape!

I tried doing the Biggest Loser yesterday but it said I didn't have any planned exercises--must be because I chose the beginner level? :confused3 I'm guessing that with a beginner it has an "every other day" plan to not overwelm you. I guess that's why it's good that I can mix it up with my other Wii games, then I can work other muscles that aren't sore!

Keep it up everyone!

We have the Just Dance & Just Dance 2 also, but I know the dances better on the first one, we are just now getting started with JD2. It was so funny last night because Lauren & I were in there "dancing" and the other two joined us. It looked like a dance party in there. It was a lot of fun!!

I am going to try to do the Biggest Loser Challenge every single day, and add something different to it. If it will ever warm up, I will start walking too. I have four months from today to lose 15-20 pounds before our trip. That's about 1-2 pounds a week, which can be done if I stick to it. :goodvibes

We can do this!!:cool1:

ALSO, I put mine on the moderate level. It's not that hard at all, but it IS a workout. Try it and see what you think. You may be surprised. I am going to leave it there for a while, and increase my time in the next week or two.

Speaking of time, has anyone noticed that if you choose 30 minutes, when it's over you end up doing like 36 minutes? I wonder if this is because of the water breaks & such?

At the beginning of the week you can select how many workouts you want to do for the upcoming week, at what skill level and for how long. If it is a "Rest day" you can still do a routine you just need to select additional activities and select the kind of routine you want to do.

I think the extra time is either the water breaks or the cool down or both I believe the 30minutes is the time when your heart rate should be up.

I also have Just Dance 2 but have only played it once. I am very uncoordinated and felt very awkward. I'll be trying it again soon.

Okay, now I understand--I'll have to check out the settings & see what I have in there. Right now I kind of like mixing it up with the Wii Fit though so I may just see how it changes the routine up itself.

It's been a hectic day & I'm waiting to boot my DS5 off the Wii so I can get to my Biggest Loser routine for the day. I did pick up a silicone cover for the board by Fat Katz but I don't like the nubs they have in the shape of feet-not the greatest feeling on bare feet. I'm going to try to find the Nintendo version to see if they have it on theirs. I'll report what I find!

Yes, let us know. :thumbsup2

You have done better than me. My poor wii sat all alone all weekend. I had good intentions, but I never turned it on. I did however, try to stick to my diet and I was surprised that I had not gained any weight when I weighed this morning. I am HOPING to drop a little this week too. I am going to start writing down everything I eat so I can see what I am doing, or control myself anyway.

I am excited to get started back with this game today. :cool1: Ok, week 2, here we come!!:woohoo:

Okay, tell me this one....it seems like everytime I do the "downward facing dog" on Biggest Loser my dog is laying there right next to my balance board. It's like they do a dog whistle during that part to call him in! :lmao:

We're in the middle of a Blizzard right now so I'm going to get a major workout shoveling snow later today! I'm going to warm up by doing my Biggest loser routine scheduled for today first, once I can get my shot at the tv that is! It'll be a great workout for me today! :thumbsup2

I have not seen the one with the dog on it yet. I have been doing it with two other players, my DD & a friend of mine. I may get in there tomorrow and try it alone to see what you are talking about.

Have fun in all of that snow!! That's a hard way to burn some calories! It's cold here too, but I hate to complain when so many people snowed in.

I do have some good news though, since starting this my DD is down five pounds and I am down three!!!!! It's not much, but I'll take it. We are half way through week two!:cool1: I have felt better, I have more energy and I have been watching what I eat more and that has been better than I thought it would be. I did have a hard time over the weekend, but I am back on track and doing good. :yay:

One other thing, I hate it when Bob says "Just like a YOGA MASTER!!" It drives me nuts!!:rotfl2:

Which Biggest Loser Wii game are you all talking about. I have The basic one I think it has bob and jillian on the cover but I think you can only pick 1 trainner.

It's called Biggest Loser Challenge. It was released late 2010 (november I think)

I feel like I have the flu, you know, the aches and pains in your body when you are sick. Only, it's not the flu, it's from playing this game on the next level.:faint: I am so sore, but it feels good in a weird way.

I am down..... FIVE pounds!!:woohoo:
