Biggest Loser Blue Team Week 2

Hey Blue-sers! :jumping3:
Just wanted to add something to the exercise amount since I couldn't help out any last week. Add 2 miles and 30 minutes to the total please. You can add quite a few NOs for me as well! Friday night we had a spaghetti dinner benefiting hurricane relief as school and I passed on every single dessert and let me tell you, there were a LOT! Last night I said NO to frozen custard. Today I said NO to the chip/cheesy dip. It felt good to say NO and follow through. ::yes::

I am glad we are weighing on Tuesday because Tuesday night is our last Cardinals game and I have been saving up lots of points for my nachos! Yum!

Enjoy the rain, everyone!

Great job team! We're up to 7 hours of exercise! :cheer2: I'll be working out tomorrow, sooooooooo tired right now, there is no place quiet enough with over 150 cheerleaders staying there! :rotfl2: I think I'm slap happy - did I just use "quiet" and "cheerleaders" in the same sentence? :rotfl2: Fortunately there were so many cheerleaders I did not make it to the breakfast buffet - great news there! and chose the cold breakfast yogurt and fruit.

Mike, thanks sooooooo much for your concern about me during the car trip  I didn't need the snacks though, I ate before we left. I think you must know and have called our carpoolers though because she opened a bag of Munchos and brough coffee flavored Kit Kats :earseek: But I was too full to eat. I did send you one of those yummy smelling brats they were cooking at Jamfest though, they smelled too good to not get one and I thought you might enjoy it. Let me know!

I'm off to do totally nothing and enjoy the rain, lay on the couch, and watch Desperate Housewives (after we watch Star Wars :p )...have a great evening everyone! :grouphug:

Jenn,

You are sooo thoughtful! You must have seen that I am following a controlled carb plan so a bunless brat sounds perfect! Even if you sent the yummy roll too, I will save it for a meal I can have it with. Don't want to waste your generosity! ;)

Hope Desparate Housewives was good!!! I had to tivo it because it has been a busy one here on campus!
Mike :goodvibes

Woo hoo! 7 hours and 30 minutes of exercise for the week, great job! BTW, where is everyone? Out exercising?

I'm having a heck of a day. DD got extremely ill last night, I was ready to call 911 but DH talked me down. She was vomitting w/blood in it and couldn't catch her breath. The doctor told us today it's a virus (after she ran several tests). Of course it started at 11:30 last night, so I did get an hour of sleep and snuck in another 2 or so around 4 this morning so I'm really really working on avoiding temptation today! I have been drinking water instead of caffeine (although I'm having a dc right now!) and somehow have not had any snacks or meals today that will stick to my hips...I'm actually quite proud of that! Being so tired and stressed about DD are two HUGE triggers for me! HOWEVER - I'm actually being motivated by that weigh-in tomorrow :earseek: , that has surprised me. Does anyone have any encouraging words they'd like to pass on? Or tips on how they handle stressful days? I did watch Desperate Housewives last night...anyone else?

Terry - go Cardinals! We made a trip back to St. L this summer to see the Cards/Braves series. Lots of fun!

BlueEyes - which day do you leave?

Mike - I would gladly watch you eat that brat just because it smelled so delicious I would love to see someone enjoy it with no guilt! And of course it's just our famous Midwest hospitality that made me think of you ;) Pull up a seat and watch Desperate Housewives, it was good one! You should probably just make a night out of it, have a few snacks, plop on the couch when you get home and play it. You'll have to watch a few times though - lots of details you'll miss the first 4 or 5 times through. :teeth: I've heard it's better will maragaritas and delicious cool ranch doritos dipped in queso - let me know about that would ya?

I took your advice Jenn! Desparate Housewives was much better with the doritos, queso and margaritas. And since I was having Mexican already I figured how could a few chicken tacos hurt, just a little sour cream on them, and then I needed to have something sweet to just balance the spice so I made up a batch of frozen Mudslides and baked up a pan of peanut butter brownies. Are you sure this was a good idea?? I was up a few pounds this morning and my pants are tighter. I will trust you though. I did good this morning because I had some of the donuts geetey dropped off, I figure they must be low carb and low fat, right? I gotta go, I have to get cooking for dinner, the chicken isn't going to fry itself! Any good gravy recipes? I need something to go with my mashed potatoes and pan fried corn?? Oops, just spilled my chocolate milkshake, from McDs, it's a diet shake right?, all over my keyboard!!! Bye!!

NOT!!! :teeth:
hahahahaha!

On a serious note, I hope that your DD is feeling better! As for tips for stressful days, I have found that writing in my WISH journal helps a lot. I also find that busy work that involves using my hands helps me distract my mind while it calms down.
Mike :goodvibes

Jennz - So sorry about you DD. I hope she is feeling better. I always feel so helpless when the kids are sick. Being tired is a huge trigger for me to eat. I was having at least one Starbucks frappucino (not sure how to spell that) before I started this. Today when we were running errands I got a sugar free vanilla latte, and it wasn't bad. Anyway, I don't really have any tips to help you. Perhaps you and DD could watch a movie. I usually find if I don't get snacks before the movie starts, then I am not inclined to get up and get them. Just keep reminding yourself that the weigh-in is tomorrow! Good luck!

I watched Desperate Housewives. The scene about the tie at Rex's funeral was too funny!

WAY TO GO, Jenn!! That's some serious temptation you just made it through! I have found that brushing my teeth (alot) and chewing mint gum helps. Anything will taste nasty after that, so if I feel tempted, I start brushing! I hope your DD feels better soon.

K and K's Mom - good choice on that sugar free latte. My sister loves those frappacionosenlaisdlkjapoiuwersn (see - I don't know how to spell it either). I am a diet coke person myself.

Sap1227 - welcome back from the cruise! We have cruised the Magic once. Are we ruined for the Wonder forever? I can't imagine cruising for less than 7 days (which is why I guess we haven't cruised again - $$!)

HelenK - aren't those horses amazing? My dd and I saw them when they came to Nashville. Wow! Good job on skipping all of those empty carbs.

Quilt Teddy - thanks for having my back and making those sneak deliveries to the RED room. hee hee

hope your dd is feeling better!!
no real exercise today---still really sore from the huge workout the other day and i dont want to be sore in disney..
i leave thursday at 430!! ( well leaving my house at 430am to head to the airport!)

Thanks you guys! :grouphug: After I posted I was feeling motivated and went and worked out while DD napped - yeah! I felt better after too. Didn't walk though. We're up to 8 hours of exercise as a team! Just heard this virus was passed around another cheer squad at her gym a few weeks ago. The good news - we leave for WDW next Wednesday so this will be over by then!

I think I might have made it through the day, just got back from the grocery again, getting her Push Ups and DD a frozen pizza and got myself a Lean Cuisine. :cheer2: A movie sounds good, and I think I'll brush my teeth before it starts! :teeth: Thanks for the tips and the support. Oh - I also parked in a far spot at the grocery store for both trips today. ;)

Mike - you're just a dog :dog: . I felt sooooooooo guilty when I was reading your post because you kept going on and on and I thought I contributed to you falling off the wagon. Wow. Okay, call me gullible. Thanks for the laugh I needed it! Plus I love the few extra calories I burned. ::yes:: I read another of your threads and that's what gave me the extra motivation to work out today, which helped with the stress and kept snacking out of my mind. I've tried journaling once or twice but I don't seem to stick with it... :confused3

K&K's Mommy - OMG wasn't that great about the tie?! I was thinking, "Bree, you've got to do it - you'll regret it the rest of your life if you don't!" But I was just expecting her to take it off, not the rest! That was hysterical! :rotfl2:

BTW everyone NOTE: this is for Blue Team members only - if you are on the red team do not read this!! - when you drink a quart of water make sure you add ice - there's a thermogenic effect that burns 30 calories to bring a quart of ice water to body temp, so drink up and remember the ice!

Any more exercise to post? I think we need 5 minutes to beat our total from last week!

Jen - I'd do the same, don't want to be sore while you're down there. You're leaving early! That's great, like a whole extra day down there! :Pinkbounc

Is this a ploy just to make us move our butts? :rotfl: I wasn't planning on exercising this evening, but if we are that close, I can bust that! I will be reporting back soon.....

Hey Geety.......careful what you bust there..... :rotfl2:

Just trying to bust through those 5 and 10 pounds clippies! ;)

Sorry I didn't have time for more, but you can add 15 minutes to the exercise time! I could only fit in a quick mile between helping with homework, fixing dinner, laundry, etc...

Terry - you're a star! :worship: :thewave: We're at 8 hours and 15 minutes for the week! What a woman - able to put us at a new level, help out your family and you still so unselfishly give your time to help out the red team! :goodvibes

Hey Geety....SLOW DOWN!!!! A woman of your age could really HURT something at that pace!! :goodvibes

Actually...a 15 minute mile...you are already ahead of teh sweeper truck there! I think you need to rethink the Disney half...or at least come to Chicago with us in August!!!! Glad to hear you got your exercise in! That is ALWAYS a struggle with a busy schedule. Keep up the good work!

LYMI!

Way to go blue team!! I just got back from my 50 minute aerobics class! I even think it might have been easier this week.

Hi Blue team

I'm saying lots of no's but I caved in today when a coworker was selling chocolate bars for her son's school. :guilty:

While I'm doing pretty well at saying NO, I'm having a harder time saying YES to exercise! It's so hard to make the time for myself to just do it.

Hi Team!

Just a quick stop to say I walked 25 minutes on the TM last night, and I am down another pound.

Have a great day everyone!

Goodmorning everyone,
I'm actually looking forward to weigh in tonight, my clothes are no longer tight so that is a good sign.
I walked for 30 minutes on Sunday and Monday, today I am going to try and increase that to 45 minutes since it is so nice out.

Samantha - great job with the no's! :cheer2: The yes's will come, don't feel bad about it. The small things add up, park farther away and take the stairs, everything counts and adds up to a lifestyle change, which means the pounds will stay off! :teacher:

Blue Team - 9 hours and 30 minutes! Awesome!! :cheer2: How about a total minute exercise challenge to the Red Team this week? Exercise, for the challenge, means minutes of things you are doing specifically for exercise, we won't count walking while shopping etc, even though you get a positive benefit from that.

WDWfan9 - great job on your pound! :cheer2: I'm down 1.4 this week so we have 2.4 gone. Last week the Red Team squeaked past us - let's see how this turns out. I'm thinking they were too busy on the computer reading Terry and QuiltTeddy's posts to get a lot of exercise in so the plan might have worked! :rotfl:

Helen - super! You must feel great pulling your clothes on! :cheer2: Our weather here is gorgeous too, great day to get outside! Enjoy!

Blue Team - our updated exercise is 10 hours and 30 minutes!! Excellent! Over 2 hours more than last week!
