Biggest Loser 8 Fall Challenge -- for losers and maintainers!

Corinna -- You are such a trooper! I love the photo of you with icicle lashes! Thanks for the reminder about sports bras. And look at it this way -- you could look like Kelly Ripa the way you're going! Petite can be very sexy and pretty! I'm taking ds to Uni as a reward for completing some advanced academic work. DH doesn't want to go, he'd rather spend the weekend on the couch watching football. I think we're going to have a great time. We're staying onsite so we'll have express passes, and this way we can go commando, which is our preference. My dh has a different temperament, but ds and I like to hit the parks hard!

I'm with Tigger813, I prefer to be inside my finished basement, on the TM. I do better when there's less to focus on. Speaking of Tigger, have a great time in NH -- no sales tax is hard to beat!

How does your exercise routine change when the weather gets colder?

As I alluded, it doesn't change much. The later sunrise, the harder it is for me to get up, but the actual activity doesn't change.

I just did my 5 mi, so now it's up to the attic to find the Halloween treasures. DS wants to make those Pillsbury cookies with the shapes inside. I just did the ww pts, and 1 is 1.5, so I guess I'll eat one in celebration of the season, but that's it!

How does your exercise routine change when the weather gets colder?

Wow - outside in the single digits - BRRRR!! My exercise won't change with the change of seasons as I'm either working out to videos in my house and/or heading over to YMCA to use their TM, bike, arc trainer and/or nautilus equipment. In North Carolina it's usually too hot in the summer to be outside and once it dips below 50 - my thinned blood can't handle that either :lmao: So, I go with the rarely changing temperature inside.

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday!!

AAgh. Just seeing you made me cold. My most extreme experiences with weather have been mostly standing in line at Best Buy for Black Friday lol. Something I plan to do this year as Mama needs a new pc....I do it in style though with ski pants and lots of wool. Those first few stops are a little warm but thats ok. Well my Auntie Flo is in town so that explains the maintain. I'm hoping this week will be a good week.
I tried on the dress. I think it was supposed to be a dead bride thing to start, not sure I just thought the dress was really pretty, I'll use it as something to build a witch costume- it's a little tight right now but I have 4 weeks and I fully intend to lose 5 pounds in those weeks! One of my biggest motivations last time was some Pooh overalls I wanted to fit into by the time we went to Disney and I did that so I think this will do it for me.

Well its rainy here in Wellington County but not too cold, a pleasant surprise this am. Would love to ride but the ground is too wet.
When it starts getting colder and darker in the morning I start using the TM downstairs. We haven't made a "nice" place for it yet so I am next to the Puppy Play Pen, as we call it and the sump pump. There's a window, it's not so bad!
I just been catching up on the boards and everyone's lives. Wow, we have so much going on. I'm truly amazed at women's strength, in light of all that we do for our families and friends. It's been great hearing what's going on with everyone, especially your jobs. Mine is pretty mindless, except when it's heart-breaking. I had to euthanise three, one day old kittens yesterday because a resident didn't want them around. I can only imagine what the cat mother felt when she came back and found them gone! Educate the person-nope, he doesn't want to know. Refuse-I've tried that too and gotten a "letter" in my employment file! In fact, I'm always in trouble with the tax-payers for trying to "educate" them.
Yikes it's pouring now!! A good afternoon for a little wardrobe swapping.

How does your exercise routine change when the weather gets colder?
Well, when I was a good girl I would walk/run outside in the spring/summer. I would actually do a WATP video and then, while already sweaty, head out in the 80-100 degree heat and run. I haven't donee that for a few summers though.

I've been running on my treadmill now so I won't be affected at all by the weather. I open the sliding door in my bedroom to get some fresh air and try to keep cool but I doubt my hubby will let me do that as it gets colder. He's already getting crabby about it and it's still 40 degrees out.

On a side note, I did W3D1 of the Cto5K this morning. Go me! I've been dying to weigh myself because I weigh daily but I challenged myself to weigh only on Fridays this month. Why is it sooooo hard? I'm really crossing my fingers for a good number this week so I don't want to drag it back out and watch it everyday.

I've also stayed away from the chips and sweets. I know it's only been 3 days but today has, by far, been the hardest.

How does your exercise routine change when the weather gets colder?

Yikes. I have been thinking about that lately with the cold Aberta Canada weather. When it gets cold, it gets COLD. I take an exercise class twice a week; until Christmas it is a Cardio class. I really like it and might continue on after Christmas too. Otherwise I will do a spin class or something like that. I am also doing Cto5K... I run outside now, but am nervous about losing focus when the snow starts blowing. Maybe I will have to scrape the money up for a gym pass for I can run on a treadmill. I also have a couple exercise DVDs and WiiFit, so hopefully all that will help :)

How does your exercise routine change when the weather gets colder?

My main workout is DVD's so it doesn't change too much. But I also like outdoor walks but I HATE the cold (anything under 40 is too cold to me ;) ) so if I can't get outside I use my treadmill.

Hey everyone! I am your coach for the coming week.

I have been MIA for a bit, and I apologize for that. I have been soooo stressed out about many things, and unfortunately the BL challenge took a backseat. I had 2 major things going on...

1st was the tae Kwon Do tournament. I did pretty good, got 1st place in my division, and then went for the grand champion finals. I made it past the semifinals into the final round. It was me against a friend from our school. She ended up winning, and I am happy for her, just wish I could have pulled it out again! Oh well, I am proud of myself for getting out there.

and secondly, I have been interviewing for a new job, It was grueling because they couldn't make a decision off of the 1st round like they normally can. The candidates were all highly qualified, and too close to call. So they went to a second round of interviews with a nurse panel from the department. THis process from applying to the final round of interviews has been over a month. I can't wait to let you know what happens.

In the mean time, I am here as coach, and I promise to try and keep up with all of you. I am on call tomorrow, if I can't check in tomorrow, I will be here for certain on Monday!

Please forgive if any of the QOTD are repeats...

So for Sunday...

Thanks for the Halloween costume ideas everyone. My DD decided she wants to be Princess Aurora now so I'm not sure if mom and I will dress up.

I had a good weight loss week and lost 3.6 lbs. I worked out really hard and counted my calories for the first time. I hope my motivation keeps up this next week. I'm now 3 pounds lighter than my plateau I have been stuck above since May. :cool1:

How does your exercise routine change when the weather gets colder?

It actually doesn't get very cold where we live. It does rain a lot though whick keeps me indoors. I have a gym membership now for the first time so now I have no excuse!

I just ran a 5K race this morning. It was a small fundraiser and it was good to get back out there as I haven't competed in a race in a while.

Have a nice weekend everyone!

How does your exercise routine change when the weather gets colder?

I do a lot of dvd's so outdoor doesn't bother me. I also leave near the coast so if I want to walk outside there are only a few really cold days we have here. I also have a treadmill down in the basement that I have to get out and start using again.

corinne YOu are a better person than I am. I could never get that cold. The coldest I have ever gotten is having my hair freeze sitting in my friend's hot tub as the snow is coming down.

We saw Toy Story 1 and 2 yesterday. I had forgotten how much fun those movies were. They must have recolored them because they looked beautiful. We went to a very early showing so that there wouldn't be so many people. It is really only 3 hours from start to finish with 1 10 minute intermission but at my theater there is a half an hour of previews and other stuff. I didn't have to worry about little kids but I did feel bad for those with little kids.

Busy day today. I have to be lector at church this morning. I also want to mix up a couple of meatloafs so ds2 can bring it back to college. I also want to mix a couple of batches of cookies for ds2 to bring back (he has an apartment so he can cook it at school) and my math team for tomorrow since we have a meet tomorrow and I always bake them something. I also have to help my dh mow a couple of lawns (that's where my exercise is coming from today). At least I don't have to go grocery shopping since I did that last night.

Have a great day everyone.

Dona, I don't think it's about being a better person (YOU are the one up early making food before you serve at your church!), but rather about being more foolhardy, perhaps!

Kind of drizzly here today. Wish we could go to the movies but DH is on call so we are planning on seeing Toy Story 1 and 2 next Sunday morning. Just ordered my Wii Fit Plus for store pickup tomorrow at Best Buy. I may also get another Leslie Sansone workout. I did the 3 mile and 1 mile WATP yesterday. Going to make meatloaf today for dinner and grind up some leftover veggies from my stir fry stuff to put in it so DD1 will get some veggies. (SHHH don't tell her;))

Anyone tried the BL protein powder? My mom and I were thinking about getting some tomorrow. I think Wal Mart will have it the cheapest or Target. It was $12.99 at the grocery store.

Have a great Sunday today. We re going to play some Wii and hopefully some Toy Story Mania.

In spite of being hungry all the time I'm still holding at my starting weight. Yikes! Sis and I measured our waist yesterday and mine is 41"! Needs to be less than 35" to be healthy. Can I lose 6" around my waist.......................?

I'm going to get on the TM for my 5 mi run. I went a little over in my ww pts last night, but used my weekly allowance. I know exactly how many I used, and that is a big improvement for me. The weekends tend to be pretty chaotic with regard to counting my pts.

Corinna -- Best of luck on your race, you're going to kill it! Go, Cousin! :woohoo:

Dona -- You have quite a morning planned! DH k'od the idea of church. He's been 3 times this week for various committees, and he wants a break. Plus, our pastor started doing this small groups in church, and we really, really don't like it.

Tigger813 -- I must be further south than you because we are finally seeing the sun. Don't worry, it's coming!

MinnieGal -- I think you hit the nail on the head. Whether we recognize it or not, I think most of us are certainly Blessed!

Steve -- Sounds like your 5K was fun! Great work getting over your plateau!

Vija -- Great job in the tournament, you should be so proud!

How does your exercise routine change when the weather gets colder?

That's something I'm really struggling with right now. We're getting our first taste of cold weather, and it has been raining off and on for a week to boot. If it was just me I'd brave some of it, but I'm walking with my 1yo in a stroller and I don't want her out in the cold damp for the 1hr+ that I'd consider a good workout.

We just moved to this town over the summer, so right now I'm researching what my indoor options are. I just found out that the high school pool is open for adult lap swim two nights a week, but the time is horrible for me, right in the middle of the dinner-bath-bedtime chaos here. I'm hoping I can fit it in one day a week, because I love to swim, but I'm not sure how practical that is. There is also a small gym in town, and on my to-do list for tomorrow is checking into the cost of a 6 month membership to get me through the winter.

We are getting the kids a Wii for Christmas, so after the holidays I'll have the Wii Fit to add to my winter routine.

So for Sunday...

Love that you have loving on the top of your list!:lovestruc I love Leslie Sansone too, she is so motivating. I think that is pretty tricky to get the veggies into the meatloaf! Nice idea, I'll have to try that as well!:thumbsup2:idea: I haven't tried the protein powder, curious to hear if others like it. Have fun on the Wii, I would love to buy one, but haven't been albe to yet.
