Biggest Loser 8 Fall Challenge -- for losers and maintainers!

Bonus QOTD: How does your exercise routine change when the weather gets colder?
Kind of forgot to answer this one.
I like exercising indoors better because I sweat less. I don't ride my bike in the winter however, for small trips to the store etc. Last year I really enjoyed going to our neighborhood pool/fitness center but am giving it up this year because my copay on my insurance is going up this year for a year or until they balance the budget. It kind of killed my hair too- I mean, I had the chlorine thing down, wash it first then put in the conditioner and use a swim cap, but it still killed my long permed hair  I think it had something to do with the ultra powerful showers there too lol.

Got rudely awakened by my cat that sleeps with me last night--he jumps from the cat post to my bed pretty much every night. Well last night he accidentally-landed on my face aahh. :scared1: I have 2 good sized scratches on my nose and a few little other spots I have to neosporin. I don't want the biggest to scar so I'm going over to my moms to have her butterfly stitch it pretty soon. I'm going to say it was an accident, but I did scold him for hissing and batting at Ginny earlier...at any rate he was pretty sorry. Think I'm going to start sleeping on my left side just to make sure.

BTW, I LOVE the costume pics!! I haven't dressed up in years, but my Yorkies do! This year, since we have the Husky, it will be a threesome. 3 lb Max will be a sailor, Mia will be a mermaid & the Husky will be a Shark. DD is making a small boat for the little ones to sit in. Last year Mia was a pirate wench & Max was Captain Jack complete w/ dreadlocks. Year before Max was a Wizard & Mia a Princess. Yes, I'm Crazy!!!! But they actually keep me sane!

The critters always dress in our house, much to their chagrin! One year I dressed the dog as a flower and the ferrets as bugs (a butterfly, ladybug, bumblebee and beetle). When our oldest ferret died, the cats got the honor of joining the crew. I did a Christmas theme one year. The dog was an elf, the boy ferret was Santa, the girl ferrets were reindeer and the cats were snowmen. Last year I did a Hershey’s theme. The dog was a kiss, the cats were kitkat and whopper and the ferrets were York peppermint patty, twizzlers and peanut butter cups. I have been too busy this year to do any sewing. I was thinking of dressing them all as Toy Story characters, but I don’t know if I will have time!

I've lost about 20 lbs since January,

That's awesome!

For those of you with a Wii Fit (I just got one as well), what do you do on it...like what is your favorite way to workout with it? I want to start using mine.
I used to do it all, but believe it or not, I find that the Beijing Olympics game gets my heart rate higher (using a monitor) so if I am in need of cardio and only have a few minutes I tend to swim or run with that.

How does your exercise routine change when the weather gets colder?

Currently I am just working out with my trainer 3 times a week and doing pilates 2 times, so that wont change. I really want to get back into running, but I just don't have the time (or the energy) to add more exercise right now. My new years resolution (yes I am thinking that far ahead) is to get back to running.

4) Indecisive (couldn't even decide which words to use at first!)
5) Blessed (sorry I borrowed this one - I just loved that one and agree completely!)

Good choices all around! I'll bet others are indecisive too. and good for you to borrow blessed... It is good all around:goodvibes
I
Resourceful
that's a good one! I'll bet you get far in life.
I shredded the carrots, zucchini, onions and mushrooms I had left over from my craziness of stir fry this week. Actually made 1 meatloaf and 12 meatloaf muffins. I used egg beaters instead of eggs. I added some of the Mrs. Dash stuff as well. Hope they turn out good! I'll let you know. Wished I had ground turkey but I had 93% ground beef instead.
Ohhh, that sounds so good!

Princess Vija I picked "inventive" for a couple of reasons. I have always been able to learn a new skill and change it into something that I can use either in my life or my classroom. I am always trying new things to get the kids to learn. This week I am looking at putting something lessons on line so the kids in my calculus classes could look at them and refresh their skills. The costume guy I have been working for at the local high school has also taught me how to be inventive. He is always thinking up ways to do something for the stage shows we have worked on. We made headpieces for a show using christmas lights and chicken wire. They looked great on stage but were deadly to be near. My girl friend keeps telling me I am left and right brained.

From Princess Vija:
We did an awesome team building activity at work. We had a list of everyone's name on a piece of paper. Our assignment was to write something positive about each person. the slips were then cut up and each person received an envelope with positive comments from all the coworkers. This was done anonymously, and I have to tell you that it felt awesome reading the wonderful things people had to say about me. I kept the envelope, and will for a long time.

It is always nice to see what other people have written about you. Every year I pass a journal around to my students to write as iff it were a yearbook. When I am having a down day it really helps to look the book over and remember the students who wrote it. I have gotten a number of emails already this year from past students thanking me for the hard work I put in for them. It does help especially after grading some really rotten tests like I did on Friday.

Oh, that sounds awesome all around. You must be an awesome teacher!!!! The journal idea sure sounds wonderful, and I bet it really does make your heart smile when you need a pick me up. I love the inventive explanation. We need teachers like you! thanks for all that you do!:goodvibes
QOTD: List 5 words to describe yourself:

1. loyal
2. determined
3. compassionate
4. intelligent
5. moody (have to throw that in if I'm being honest!)

My parents took the girls to the mall today and evidently bought the girls some clothes from Justice and Kohls. I'm dreading finding out what all they got. They tend to convince Granny to buy them things they know I wouldn't approve of, and I just told her a couple days ago that I went through their drawers to gather up stuff for the mission and they don't need anything at all. She always tends to buy DD10 who's chubby clothes that are too tight, and then the kid gets mad at me when I insist they don't fit and have to go back to the store! :sad2: All I've seen so far is that she did get DD10 the comforter she wanted for her birthday, so that's a plus. I'll have to deal with the rest later. I need to go shower now and get ready to go out to dinner with the folks. I have to work at 10 tonight and I'm hoping I don't get called in early!
Great list!!!! I hope the items that were bought end up being good for your kids. I imagine it must be very hard to take them back at times.

Princess Vija -- I wrote imaginative because I was trying to convey my love of all things Sci Fi, and possibilities. I also have to think of ways to find positives in negatives in my work (funding to support and house homeless individuals), and that often requires "visioning". As a matter of fact, a service I'm doing for my church right now is serving as the "Vision Steward". It's my job to think of creative ways to get people involved in all types of stewardship.

I ended up not doing my 5 mi today. That means I have to do it Mon. and Tues. instead, which should work out ok. I can't go to my yoga class Tuesday, so this way I'll still get some exercise.

I've gone down one ww pt., which doesn't seem like much, but I'm finding it hard to mentally make the switch. I was over yesterday and used weekly pts, and it's going to happen again today, too. I think tomorrow will be much easier with the structure of being back at work.

Maria :upsidedow
Oh, bless you for the work that you do. That is God's work and I wish you much success in all that you do. I definitely see the Inventive part of you coming out. I know what you mean about WW and going down in points. I used to get set in my ways, and feeling like I was losing a point did me in a couple of times. Hang in there, this is what you are working towards! And applaud yourself as well that you have made changes that are getting you to the lower points! YEEHAW:thumbsup2

The meatloaf was a HUGE hit with DD1. She actually wrote on a piece of paper that it was the "Best Meatloaf that I have ever eaten." I don't dare tell her about the veggies that were in it. We'll keep that our little secret for awhile. She told me to make it like that all the time. She also wants to have more for dinner tomorrow night. She needs to eat early as she has dancing from 5-6. Just wish I could get DD2 to eat things other than chicken nuggets. She does like hot dogs now and will eat green beans but meat is another issue. She has eaten one hamburger in her life so there is hope!

Don't know when I'll get my workouts in tomorrow as I'll be shopping all day. And I don't know if I will be having my Irish Step class as there may not have been enough people to hold the class.:(:( I am picking up the Wii Fit Plus in the morning so hopefully I can try it out tomorrow night.
Way to go on the veggie thing and meatloaf. I can't wait to try and hide the veggies in the meatloaf! My DD has been very picky too, just keep trying to introduce new foods and eventually something new and healthy will stick. That Irish Step class sounds like it could be fun, hope they have enough people.

It can definitely be done! Earlier this year, I was up at 42" :scared1: and am now at 34ish.

I think I wrote out my answers this morning while I was feeling like a warrior! I need to trade one of them out for "Silly," I think. I come from a long, long line of silly people and my family and I really enjoy a variety of different kinds of humor!

The day was perfect, thank you! Low 40's, partly cloudy, no rain. Just a slight wind when we were up on the bridges or the top of the last hill. I could have done without the wind, but really, it was a great day!

"Relentless" is a word I have used over the past few years as I've gotten into the racing and also the weight loss. It is usually part of the phrase I have adopted as my own: "Slow but Relentless." There are so many people with more natural talent for running than I've got, and when I started, I was a lot heavier which generally equals slower. I don't let that stop me, though. I can run a long time at my own pace. I have gotten to a place where I can power up the hills in my neighborhood because they may slow me down, but ultimately, I am going to keep going and keep trying. Similarly, my weight loss has not been rapid, but I don't give up - I just keep going slowly, leaning against those personal limits and giving them a little shove. ::yes::

Your whole post is inspiring! First your success from 42 to 34!!!! WAY TO GO!:woohoo: Then the silly part, so many people take things too seriously, to be silly is a wonderful thing, and I love to be silly too! Makes the day brighter.:goodvibes And then a good report from the race, and a wonderful personal motto regarding being relentless. that really is inspiring. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry I haven't been around. I've been really really sick the past few weeks so I didn't do my weigh in, points, or QOTD.
I'm finally feeling a little better, but still get tired easily. I'm going to try to catch up. I didn't read through the thread yet but I'm intrigued by the name 5 things about you question. I might just ask some of the people at the kids school to do that for me.
Glad you are back, and feeling better. Take care of yourself, and rest as much as you need so you can keep getting better and better.

Still sick as a dog. Friday was not as quiet as I hoped. I basically had the morning from hell. I received another spectacular bite off of my student. He got me on the part of the hand where your thumb connects to your palm, and once again held on for about a minute before I was able to get him off of me. It still hurts. At least he didn't break skin this time. Then, because I was sick my blood sugar plummeted while I was teaching math. I've been sick all weekend. Of course, it's my one weekend off from World's of Fun and my father was in town. We went to Haunt Friday, Ren Fest yesterday, and Toy Story today. I know it's not the best thing to do when you're not feeling well, but I only get one weekend off until November 1 and I've had this planned for awhile. It's essentially my birthday weekend since I know I'll be working from about 7am-1am on my actual birthday.
Oh my, you have a lot going on. I hope you feel better soon!!!! As far as the student biting you, I exclaimed outloud to my DH that you had a student bite you, and you know what he said? Wash your hands in the "sour apple stuff" that they use for dogs to get them to avoid to bite. Now I am sure that there are rules about that in schools, so if nothing else, maybe it can bring a smile to your face imagining the sour apple... I say you are amazing for all that you do for all of your students! thank you!!! Too bad you have to work on your birthday, but hopefully your birthday weekend will be fun.

Good morning everyone. I came by yesterday and read through the thread, and when I got to the 5 words to describe me, I had a hard time, so I didn't post, and thought about a lot through the day. 5 months ago, I would have said I was Positive, upbeat, happy, supportive, caring. I'm having a hard time, so they don't all apply at the moment, but I know I will get through this, so I'll add resilient.

It's so inspiring to read everyone's posts- forget who said they were blessed, but it is so true. I am also truly blessed, though sometimes I forget.

Welcome Vija as this weeks coach. Thanks for getting me thinking about the good things i have to be grateful for. I just remembered a while back, I had the book called Simple Abundance, and it really helped keep me grounded, and I had a gratitude journal which started as writing one thing down every day that you are grateful for. This was before I had my son, but I think I"m going to pull that book out.

Hope you all have a great day.
I hope that soon you will feel peace.:goodvibes:hug: I will second your resilient, and add in "conquerer" for you will conquer your challenges, and come out Positive, upbeat, happy, supportive, caring once again! thanks for the welcome, and you are welcome! I love the gratitude journal. Everynight at prayers (we pray at night together) we each say one thing that we are thankful for. I think you have inspired me to keep track of that for a while in a journal. It would be neet for the kids to look back on their childhood and hear what they are thankful for. Great idea! Thanks!

My insecurities are only based on my weight and appearance. I've been running and I've found that I walk taller and gain more confidence with each run. I will gain more and more as the weight comes off, I always do. Thanks though!

That is awesome, so glad you have found that thing that you need to help with your confidence. It helps so much doesn't it to have that thing? keep on running!

Thanks Princess Vija for being our coach this week! Especially with all that it going on in your life right now!

thanks!:goodvibes
Thanks for being our coach this week Princess Vija!

5 words to describe myself:
  1. optimistic
  2. loving
  3. friendly
  4. impatient (but I'm working on this)
  5. blessed (I too stole this - because I do feel blessed to have an awesome family!)
Great list! and you are welcome! Isn't it amazing how many of us like "blessed" on the lists! That is so comforting.

Another thing that I add to meatloaf (along with pulverized veggies, as you have done) is either mashed kidney bean, mashed black beans, or a can of fat free refried beans. DD did notice the beans when I didn't mash them enough, but she still ate it. It makes for a nice, moist, less fatty, meatloaf!

Loved
Bossy
Determined
Organized
and, of course, blessed.

I'm heading over to the main portion of the WISH board to ask a question about the Flat Belly Diet. If anyone here has tried it, please come over and answer my questions! Thanks.......................P
Great list too! From your list, it sounds like you are someone who knows what they want in life and divine a way to get it! Am I right?

It is getting very cold here in Beautiful Colorado, but I absolutely LOVE it! We went up to the mountains to see the Aspens turn into their fall foliage mode, the only word that even comes close to describing it's beauty is breathtaking! It is just amazing to me what a beautiful place we live in.

I did pretty well over the weekend. My boys and I walked about 2 miles and they loved it too! The Bronco games kill me; always have, always will. But as long as I'm prepared I'll be OK! I got the boneless wings and made a refried bean dip with salsa that was a huge hit. Not too bad for game day right?

QOTD-5 things to describe myself

1-Outgoing
2-Funny
3-Strict
4-Generous
5-High morals

Ooooh, love the strict and high morals! that is awesome. I have not seen the aspens in Colorado, but I LOVE the fall foliage here in Wisconsin, it is something beatiful to behold. And the sound of leaves crunching as you walk through them is very fun!!! Great job on Game day! nice strategy
Hey everyone!

I've mentioned before that I just can't seem to get "in control" and I kept falling off the wagon.

Well today is day 2 on track and I feel like it might have clicked. This time it feels different, and I haven't felt the click since I got back from my vacations in Aug and the beginning of Sept. Keep your fingers I am back on track :)

WAY TO GO!!!! Stay on that wagon! It is great that you are back on track!:woohoo:

Well I have returned from 9 glorious days at WDW and I weighed myself this morning for the weigh in (sorry for being so late LOL) and I actually registered a loss...no kidding I was down .6 lbs...but a loss is a loss and the fact that I ate all that food (It was a lot of food) and didn't gain but actually lost thrills me!! I still have some treats I have to eat...but I'm back to working out and watching those points LOL!!! So wish me luck this week!!!!!

QOTD List 5 words to describe yourself...

1. Caring
2. Intelligent
3. Passive
4. Fun
5. Inquisitive

Welcome home! Registering a weight loss after WDW is a super accomplishment! WAY TO GO! Not easy when you are in the World to do that! Good luck this week to stay on plan. I love the Fun and Inquisitive in your list.

Got rudely awakened by my cat that sleeps with me last night--he jumps from the cat post to my bed pretty much every night. I don't want the biggest to scar so I'm going over to my moms to have her butterfly stitch it pretty soon.

Oh my!:scared1: I can't imagine waking up to a cat jumping on my face! I once had a spider crawl across my face and I jumped up and out of bed faster than I think I've ever moved, I can't even imagine a cat!
I was thinking of dressing them all as Toy Story characters, but I don’t know if I will have time!

THAT sounds like so much fun! I especially like the Hershey's theme!

Hey guys.... I HAVE GREAT NEWS TO REPORT.....

I GOT THE JOB!

I am soooo excited! I don't start until Nov. 16th, and I have to keep my current call through Dec. 31st, so I'll still be in the old department for a little bit, BUT I am soooo excited for this new opportunity!!!!:banana::banana::goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::yay::yay:

That said, I am struggling a bit with the food. I have made some good choices, but have so much more to do. I do have something going on with my health right now, so I am very worried about that right now. I am not quite ready to say what it is, which I don't really know yet, as I need to get to a doctor. But I am worried.:sad2: I just hope it isn't serious. I have to say that my fears are helping me eat better.

Interesting how I feel right now.... VERY HAPPY, VERY hopeful.... and VERY concerned at the same time!

Monday/ Tuesday QOTD...

Since I didn't get Monday's out soon enough, I'll make it a 2 parter for Monday and Tuesday....

Think back to when you were successful at something in your past (NOT necessarily weight loss... like school, a personal challenge, work related, relationship related, a personal goal etc)

#2 what strategies/ techniques/ things that worked for you then/ Can you translate into helping you now with your weightloss journey?

Princess...Congrats on getting the job! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers right now. Know we are here for you!

PRINCESS VIJA, congrats on the job! YAY! And sincere best wishes for the health concerns you are facing... Hopefully everything will turn out okay!:flower3:

Okay, for the QOTD:
I have succeeded at things in the past. Like my list said, I am extremely blessed. I think one thing I suceeded at was my education. I did quite well in University (and worked my butt off to do it!). So that probably translates into weight loss.
My degrees didn't happen overnight, or even in a year or two. It was a lot of baby steps put together to get there. Same with weight loss; lasting success will take a long time. Sometimes there will be setbacks. Low marks, late assignments, struggling with concepts... translates into cravings, lazy days, and temptations (like holiday dinners ;) ) The biggest thing I have to realize is that sometimes it will seem easy, and sometimes it won't. It WILL seem easy when I am at home with supportive DBF, packing veggies and making separate meals for me after coming back from a cardio class. It will seem difficult surrounded with my family (who loves to eat out, and not at the healthiest places), or sitting around the Christmas table, after a blizzard has confined me to the indoors for weeks. But it is all a process. It all takes time. When I started University I never thought "IF I get my degrees," or "IF I get that scholarship," or "IF I get honours"... I always assumed I would, but that it might take longer or be more difficult some days. Well, I can't think "IF" I lose the weight, or "IF I get in shape"... I have to switch my thinking to WHEN it all happens. And it already is!
Okay, sorry that I rambled on so much... But my University experience meant a lot, and I didn't realize that until right this moment. The fact is, I met a wonderful young man there who I am still with today, and it is because of my degrees that I have - in my opinion - the best job in the world. :)
Funny how you don't realize all this stuff until so much later.

Wow - tough question. If I think back - well - not necessarily in the past since I'm still married - but I guess I would say my marriage is one of my most successful accomplishments. My husband and I got married right after college and have been together for over 19 years. He is my best friend. We make it work with patience, love and commitment. I truly believe we are partners in everything that we do (well, except I still don't watch football with him every week :lmao:) So, I guess, I could use that in my weight loss quest since I know that I have my best friend by my side, cheering me on. I am trying to channel some of that patience and commitment to my weight loss goal as well. I just have to constantly remind myself that I didn't gain all this weight overnight and therefore it's not gonna come off that way either. If I stay committed to the program - results will follow.

#1 - preparing and doing two 1/2 marathons back in 2005.

#2 - I just made the exercise priority because I knew I had to do it in order to compete. The first one - the DIsney 1/2 in 2005 was really a life changing moment and I knew I had to get into shape so I didn't fall on my face from being out of shape.

I have to say my weight loss earlier this year. I lost 30 pounds between Christmas and April vacation. I tried to stay focused on the big picture, MY HEALTH! I got up every morning and did a 30 minute workout of some type and then worked out again later in the day. I had a pair of jeans that I really wanted to fit into that I tried on everyday until I could comfortably wear them outside of the house. I then moved onto other clothes and was able to buy some size 12s. I am trying to remember how good I felt then to help me with this journey. It's WORKING! I also have my LDL that I need to go down 5 points. My regular cholesterol was at a good range and I have been really focusing on my health again! I feel better and am a better person to be around!

I started my Irish step class tonight! There were 3 of us and they hope others will join us as we move along. It was AWESOME! It was quite a workout. It's been 30 years since I've taken a dance class! I can't wait until the next class in two weeks. My feet are sore and my knee is aching slightly but I was sweating by the end of the warm up. We went through all the basic steps and starting positions. I will try and practice with my 9 year old before our next classes in two weeks!

Won't get a chance to try the Wii Fit Plus until tomorrow so I'll let everyone know how it goes. My mom bought another Leslie Sansone DVD so we'll try that too.

Hope everyone has a super week! It's starting out super here!:woohoo::yay::cheer2:

Congrats on your new job!

I'm happy to say that I know of at least 3 people that have gotten new jobs in the past several weeks! I hope this trend continues!

I just want to give a shout out that I resisted ice cream and candy corn tonight. Yep the sugar was calling me but I resisted.

I did great today, although I did end up with about 450 more calories than my high range - but they were all healthy calories. I guess not putting in my dinner calories before I ate them was not good and probably eating two whole avocado's wasn't either (they were starting to go bad and wanted to eat them before they did). Even so - the two small avocados were in the 350 calorie range and I ate no meat so it was still healthier in my opinion than having say a hambuger :)

Here was my yummy dinner -had to share cuz it was absolutely amazing! I make this often - but my "bean" mixture has been a work in progress.

2 ezekiel sprouted corn tortillas baked in the oven (no oil needed)

Gaucamole (fresh cilantro, diced tomatoes, red onion, lemon juice and avocado)

Black Bean dip - (1 can black beans, 1 tbsp tahini, lemon juice and water added till smooth)

veggies- fresh spinach, garlic, red onions and mushrooms sauted in olive oil

Then I layered the veggies, dip and guacamole on top of the corn tortillas! So good and it was a huge serving - But beware - don't eat all of it like I did. 917 calories - YEP, not good - LOL!

I just did a quick read through to get caught up. I had a great weekend! DH & I had a great time with DD7 and DD4 at the football game. This time our seats were 2 in one row, and 2 right behind, and it worked better than 4 in a row. Much easier for conversation. The girls had fun cheering and are starting to figure out the game and when to cheer. :goodvibes I got some exercise walking around the stadium. Then on Saturday we went to Capilano Suspension Bridge and I got a bunch of exercising walking around then with lots of stairs.:thumbsup2

I hope everyone that is sick or has been sick feels better soon:grouphug:

How does your exercise routine change when the weather gets colder?

Well, in the summer, we go kayaking as a family, and now its too cold for that. My other exercise stays the same, as I swim while the girls are in lessons and do step and wiifit at home.:goodvibes

#1 What was it

#2 what strategies/ techniques/ things that worked for you then/ Can you translate into helping you now with your weightloss journey?

I have been successful at projects (getting costumes ready, getting wedding organized) when I have a deadline. I can be committed and extremely focussed when there's a deadline looming. I need to find ways to set mini-deadlines and hold myself to them. :thumbsup2

Now I'm off to open all the PM's that came in over the weekend! And send a late COW report to Donac:goodvibes

I am seeing more nachos in my future...

Well my Mom who was a nurse for most of my life said my scratches weren't bad, not deep or gaping but she put a butterfly stitch on the biggest one. Honestly my poor guy just seemed confused today, and definitely guilty. I should explain he really is my favorite, we are very close as far as Mom and kitty goes. He is very smart though and I know he understands some words and I tried to get it through to him last night. I don't think he'll do that again.

And RIGHT ON Vija :-) !

I guess it was volunteering at our spay and neuter clinic. I didn't think I was qualified enough to do what I was doing but they had confidence in me and I did great. Doing that made me understand how this old dog could still learn new tricks and when my old (paying) job at the store was eliminated, I stepped right in to a new one which has worked out great for me.
I know it's cliche but I guess letting go of the fear of the unkown (or at least the forgotten) would be what I can take from that. Knowing all my troubles I had with food when I was young-- (bulimia, anorexia, overexercising)--well it won't be so hard this time around to maintain because I am so much wiser about food and being healthy.:yay:

Here's the dreaded REMINDER LIST!

If you've forgotten to send in your weigh in, you still have time. Its' 10:40 pm, and I'm heading to bed, so I won't get to the results post until tomorrow evening. Unfortunately, that means, you east coast folk won't see it until Wed morning (unless you're a night owl!).
Anyway weigh-ins are not required, and you are welcome to participate without sending in weights, if that's what you want.

Here's the list of missing folks! I know there's been many people sick, and I didn't keep track as I was speed-reading through the last 3 days of posts, so I'm sure I missed some who posted in the thread that they didn't get their weigh ins done.

Is it to late for me to join? I was doing really good, but my thyroid is back to being out of whack and I am pilling on the weight again. So if it's not to late is it ok if I join.

If it's not then Hello my name is Nicole, I just turned 25 two weeks ago (wahoo). As you can see above I have hypothroidism, it makes it super hard to lose weight and makes me gain it sooooooo easily it is really frustrating. I am married and my husband comes home in two months from Iraq. I am also serving in the Military currently stationed in Hawaii. I don't get out much but thats ok I have fun activities to keep me at home. Including sewing and scrapbooking. I find that if I am sewing or quilting I am not snacking. Hmmm maybe I should market Sewing as a diet tool :).

#1 What was it The thing that I was successful at during my life was when I was a senior and not only broke my schools record in swimming and also placed at state during the same meet.

#2 what strategies/ techniques/ things that worked for you then/ Can you translate into helping you now with your weightloss journey? I think one of the things that I can translate from the above accompishment is that if I dedicate myself then can accomplish something great. I think that i need to start applying this to my life. Maybe it will help me lose that weight I have hanging on to me.
