4) Indecisive (couldn't even decide which words to use at first!)
5) Blessed (sorry I borrowed this one - I just loved that one and agree completely!)
Good choices all around! I'll bet others are indecisive too. and good for you to borrow blessed... It is good all around
that's a good one! I'll bet you get far in life.
I shredded the carrots, zucchini, onions and mushrooms I had left over from my craziness of stir fry this week. Actually made 1 meatloaf and 12 meatloaf muffins. I used egg beaters instead of eggs. I added some of the Mrs. Dash stuff as well. Hope they turn out good! I'll let you know. Wished I had ground turkey but I had 93% ground beef instead.
Ohhh, that sounds so good!
Princess Vija I picked "inventive" for a couple of reasons. I have always been able to learn a new skill and change it into something that I can use either in my life or my classroom. I am always trying new things to get the kids to learn. This week I am looking at putting something lessons on line so the kids in my calculus classes could look at them and refresh their skills. The costume guy I have been working for at the local high school has also taught me how to be inventive. He is always thinking up ways to do something for the stage shows we have worked on. We made headpieces for a show using christmas lights and chicken wire. They looked great on stage but were deadly to be near. My girl friend keeps telling me I am left and right brained.
From Princess Vija:
We did an awesome team building activity at work. We had a list of everyone's name on a piece of paper. Our assignment was to write something positive about each person. the slips were then cut up and each person received an envelope with positive comments from all the coworkers. This was done anonymously, and I have to tell you that it felt awesome reading the wonderful things people had to say about me. I kept the envelope, and will for a long time.
It is always nice to see what other people have written about you. Every year I pass a journal around to my students to write as iff it were a yearbook. When I am having a down day it really helps to look the book over and remember the students who wrote it. I have gotten a number of emails already this year from past students thanking me for the hard work I put in for them. It does help especially after grading some really rotten tests like I did on Friday.
Oh, that sounds awesome all around. You must be an awesome teacher!!!! The journal idea sure sounds wonderful, and I bet it really does make your heart smile when you need a pick me up. I love the inventive explanation. We need teachers like you! thanks for all that you do!
QOTD: List 5 words to describe yourself:
1. loyal
2. determined
3. compassionate
4. intelligent
5. moody (have to throw that in if I'm being honest!)
My parents took the girls to the mall today and evidently bought the girls some clothes from Justice and Kohls. I'm dreading finding out what all they got. They tend to convince Granny to buy them things they know I wouldn't approve of, and I just told her a couple days ago that I went through their drawers to gather up stuff for the mission and they don't need anything at all. She always tends to buy DD10 who's chubby clothes that are too tight, and then the kid gets mad at me when I insist they don't fit and have to go back to the store!

All I've seen so far is that she did get DD10 the comforter she wanted for her birthday, so that's a plus. I'll have to deal with the rest later. I need to go shower now and get ready to go out to dinner with the folks. I have to work at 10 tonight and I'm hoping I don't get called in early!
Great list!!!! I hope the items that were bought end up being good for your kids. I imagine it must be very hard to take them back at times.
Princess Vija -- I wrote imaginative because I was trying to convey my love of all things Sci Fi, and possibilities. I also have to think of ways to find positives in negatives in my work (funding to support and house homeless individuals), and that often requires "visioning". As a matter of fact, a service I'm doing for my church right now is serving as the "Vision Steward". It's my job to think of creative ways to get people involved in all types of stewardship.
I ended up not doing my 5 mi today. That means I have to do it Mon. and Tues. instead, which should work out ok. I can't go to my yoga class Tuesday, so this way I'll still get some exercise.
I've gone down one ww pt., which doesn't seem like much, but I'm finding it hard to mentally make the switch. I was over yesterday and used weekly pts, and it's going to happen again today, too. I think tomorrow will be much easier with the structure of being back at work.
Maria
Oh, bless you for the work that you do. That is God's work and I wish you much success in all that you do. I definitely see the Inventive part of you coming out. I know what you mean about WW and going down in points. I used to get set in my ways, and feeling like I was losing a point did me in a couple of times. Hang in there, this is what you are working towards! And applaud yourself as well that you have made changes that are getting you to the lower points! YEEHAW
The meatloaf was a HUGE hit with DD1. She actually wrote on a piece of paper that it was the "Best Meatloaf that I have ever eaten." I don't dare tell her about the veggies that were in it. We'll keep that our little secret for awhile. She told me to make it like that all the time. She also wants to have more for dinner tomorrow night. She needs to eat early as she has dancing from 5-6. Just wish I could get DD2 to eat things other than chicken nuggets. She does like hot dogs now and will eat green beans but meat is another issue. She has eaten one hamburger in her life so there is hope!
Don't know when I'll get my workouts in tomorrow as I'll be shopping all day. And I don't know if I will be having my Irish Step class as there may not have been enough people to hold the class.

I am picking up the Wii Fit Plus in the morning so hopefully I can try it out tomorrow night.
Way to go on the veggie thing and meatloaf. I can't wait to try and hide the veggies in the meatloaf! My DD has been very picky too, just keep trying to introduce new foods and eventually something new and healthy will stick. That Irish Step class sounds like it could be fun, hope they have enough people.
It can definitely be done! Earlier this year, I was up at 42"

and am now at 34ish.
I think I wrote out my answers this morning while I was feeling like a warrior!

I need to trade one of them out for "Silly," I think. I come from a long, long line of silly people and my family and I really enjoy a variety of different kinds of humor!
The day was perfect, thank you! Low 40's, partly cloudy, no rain. Just a slight wind when we were up on the bridges or the top of the last hill. I could have done without the wind, but really, it was a great day!
"Relentless" is a word I have used over the past few years as I've gotten into the racing and also the weight loss. It is usually part of the phrase I have adopted as my own: "Slow but Relentless." There are so many people with more natural talent for running than I've got, and when I started, I was a lot heavier which generally equals slower. I don't let that stop me, though. I can run a long time at my own pace. I have gotten to a place where I can power up the hills in my neighborhood because they may slow me down, but ultimately, I am going to keep going and keep trying. Similarly, my weight loss has not been rapid, but I don't give up - I just keep going slowly, leaning against those personal limits and giving them a little shove.
Your whole post is inspiring! First your success from 42 to 34!!!! WAY TO GO!

Then the silly part, so many people take things too seriously, to be silly is a wonderful thing, and I love to be silly too! Makes the day brighter.

And then a good report from the race, and a wonderful personal motto regarding being relentless. that really is inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
Sorry I haven't been around. I've been really really sick the past few weeks so I didn't do my weigh in, points, or QOTD.
I'm finally feeling a little better, but still get tired easily. I'm going to try to catch up. I didn't read through the thread yet but I'm intrigued by the name 5 things about you question. I might just ask some of the people at the kids school to do that for me.
Glad you are back, and feeling better. Take care of yourself, and rest as much as you need so you can keep getting better and better.
Still sick as a dog. Friday was not as quiet as I hoped. I basically had the morning from hell. I received another spectacular bite off of my student. He got me on the part of the hand where your thumb connects to your palm, and once again held on for about a minute before I was able to get him off of me. It still hurts. At least he didn't break skin this time. Then, because I was sick my blood sugar plummeted while I was teaching math. I've been sick all weekend. Of course, it's my one weekend off from World's of Fun and my father was in town. We went to Haunt Friday, Ren Fest yesterday, and Toy Story today. I know it's not the best thing to do when you're not feeling well, but I only get one weekend off until November 1 and I've had this planned for awhile. It's essentially my birthday weekend since I know I'll be working from about 7am-1am on my actual birthday.
Oh my, you have a lot going on. I hope you feel better soon!!!! As far as the student biting you, I exclaimed outloud to my DH that you had a student bite you, and you know what he said? Wash your hands in the "sour apple stuff" that they use for dogs to get them to avoid to bite. Now I am sure that there are rules about that in schools, so if nothing else, maybe it can bring a smile to your face imagining the sour apple... I say you are amazing for all that you do for all of your students! thank you!!! Too bad you have to work on your birthday, but hopefully your birthday weekend will be fun.
Good morning everyone. I came by yesterday and read through the thread, and when I got to the 5 words to describe me, I had a hard time, so I didn't post, and thought about a lot through the day. 5 months ago, I would have said I was Positive, upbeat, happy, supportive, caring. I'm having a hard time, so they don't all apply at the moment, but I know I will get through this, so I'll add resilient.
It's so inspiring to read everyone's posts- forget who said they were blessed, but it is so true. I am also truly blessed, though sometimes I forget.
Welcome Vija as this weeks coach. Thanks for getting me thinking about the good things i have to be grateful for. I just remembered a while back, I had the book called Simple Abundance, and it really helped keep me grounded, and I had a gratitude journal which started as writing one thing down every day that you are grateful for. This was before I had my son, but I think I"m going to pull that book out.
Hope you all have a great day.
I hope that soon you will feel peace.

I will second your resilient, and add in "conquerer" for you will conquer your challenges, and come out
Positive, upbeat, happy, supportive, caring once again! thanks for the welcome, and you are welcome! I love the gratitude journal. Everynight at prayers (we pray at night together) we each say one thing that we are thankful for. I think you have inspired me to keep track of that for a while in a journal. It would be neet for the kids to look back on their childhood and hear what they are thankful for. Great idea!

Thanks!
My insecurities are only based on my weight and appearance. I've been running and I've found that I walk taller and gain more confidence with each run. I will gain more and more as the weight comes off, I always do. Thanks though!
That is awesome, so glad you have found that thing that you need to help with your confidence. It helps so much doesn't it to have that thing? keep on running!
Thanks Princess Vija for being our coach this week!

Especially with all that it going on in your life right now!
thanks!
Thanks for being our coach this week Princess Vija!
5 words to describe myself:
- optimistic
- loving
- friendly
- impatient (but I'm working on this)
- blessed (I too stole this - because I do feel blessed to have an awesome family!)
Great list! and you are welcome! Isn't it amazing how many of us like "blessed" on the lists! That is so comforting.
Another thing that I add to meatloaf (along with pulverized veggies, as you have done) is either mashed kidney bean, mashed black beans, or a can of fat free refried beans. DD did notice the beans when I didn't mash them enough, but she still ate it. It makes for a nice, moist, less fatty, meatloaf!
Loved
Bossy
Determined
Organized
and, of course, blessed.
I'm heading over to the main portion of the WISH board to ask a question about the Flat Belly Diet. If anyone here has tried it, please come over and answer my questions! Thanks.......................P
Great list too! From your list, it sounds like you are someone who knows what they want in life and divine a way to get it! Am I right?
It is getting very cold here in Beautiful Colorado, but I absolutely LOVE it! We went up to the mountains to see the Aspens turn into their fall foliage mode, the only word that even comes close to describing it's beauty is breathtaking! It is just amazing to me what a beautiful place we live in.
I did pretty well over the weekend. My boys and I walked about 2 miles and they loved it too! The Bronco games kill me; always have, always will. But as long as I'm prepared I'll be OK! I got the boneless wings and made a refried bean dip with salsa that was a huge hit. Not too bad for game day right?
QOTD-5 things to describe myself
1-Outgoing
2-Funny
3-Strict
4-Generous
5-High morals
Ooooh, love the strict and high morals! that is awesome. I have not seen the aspens in Colorado, but I LOVE the fall foliage here in Wisconsin, it is something beatiful to behold. And the sound of leaves crunching as you walk through them is very fun!!! Great job on Game day! nice strategy
Hey everyone!
I've mentioned before that I just can't seem to get "in control" and I kept falling off the wagon.
Well today is day 2 on track and I feel like it might have clicked. This time it feels different, and I haven't felt the click since I got back from my vacations in Aug and the beginning of Sept. Keep your fingers I am back on track
WAY TO GO!!!! Stay on that wagon! It is great that you are back on track!
Well I have returned from 9 glorious days at WDW and I weighed myself this morning for the weigh in (sorry for being so late LOL) and I actually registered a loss...no kidding I was down .6 lbs...but a loss is a loss and the fact that I ate all that food (It was a lot of food) and didn't gain but actually lost thrills me!! I still have some treats I have to eat...but I'm back to working out and watching those points LOL!!! So wish me luck this week!!!!!
QOTD List 5 words to describe yourself...
1. Caring
2. Intelligent
3. Passive
4. Fun
5. Inquisitive
Welcome home! Registering a weight loss after WDW is a super accomplishment! WAY TO GO! Not easy when you are in the World to do that! Good luck this week to stay on plan. I love the Fun and Inquisitive in your list.
Got rudely awakened by my cat that sleeps with me last night--he jumps from the cat post to my bed pretty much every night. Well last night he accidentally-landed on my face aahh.

I have 2 good sized scratches on my nose and a few little other spots I have to neosporin. I don't want the biggest to scar so I'm going over to my moms to have her butterfly stitch it pretty soon.
Oh my!

I can't imagine waking up to a cat jumping on my face! I once had a spider crawl across my face and I jumped up and out of bed faster than I think I've ever moved, I can't even imagine a cat!
The critters always dress in our house, much to their chagrin! One year I dressed the dog as a flower and the ferrets as bugs (a butterfly, ladybug, bumblebee and beetle). When our oldest ferret died, the cats got the honor of joining the crew. I did a Christmas theme one year. The dog was an elf, the boy ferret was Santa, the girl ferrets were reindeer and the cats were snowmen. Last year I did a Hersheys theme. The dog was a kiss, the cats were kitkat and whopper and the ferrets were York peppermint patty, twizzlers and peanut butter cups. I have been too busy this year to do any sewing. I was thinking of dressing them all as Toy Story characters, but I dont know if I will have time!
THAT sounds like so much fun! I especially like the Hershey's theme!
