Yikes! Sis and I measured our waist yesterday and mine is 41"! Needs to be less than 35" to be healthy. Can I lose 6" around my waist.......................?
It can definitely be done! Earlier this year, I was up at 42"

and am now at 34ish. I had hoped it would be lower by the time I got within my healthy weight range, but it is what it is. I have a couple of core training DVD's and now have muscles under my remaining fluff, anyway. Like a marshmallow covered jawbreaker.

It does take time, but it can be done!
Corinna -- Best of luck on your race, you're going to kill it! Go, Cousin!
Maria, it was a fun race - I can't say I "killed" it - I feel good about the choice but I did not really push it to the limit today. I ran with a friend of a friend - it was her first longer race and she said I should go if I wanted to go faster, but we were averaging about 11mpm and it was comfortable and, I thought, helpful to her, so I decided to just enjoy the run.

I am doing a 10K next weekend and didn't want to blow it all today, you know? It's HARD not to really race a race, but running with someone a little slower who is racing it is a good way to keep a lid on my over-exuberance and competitiveness.
I've gone down one ww pt., which doesn't seem like much, but I'm finding it hard to mentally make the switch. I was over yesterday and used weekly pts, and it's going to happen again today, too. I think tomorrow will be much easier with the structure of being back at work.
It never fails to surprise me just how much of a difference a point or two can make. It's good you're using your weekly points to ease the transition - I have found that the more points I have lost, the more I have relied on them to ease the transition and make the plan more liveable. Do you use your activity points? Finally, I decided I needed to at least use one or the other or there just wasn't going to be enough food in my plan. I now try to use weekly points equal to the activity points I earn (since the online tracker uses the WP before the AP). If I don't give myself guidelines like that, I end up trying to use as few points as possible, which is not actually the plan.
You'll be used to the point reduction before too long, I'm sure. It is always a challenging time, but I know you'll get through it!
I too am intrigued by relentless... tell us more!
Way to go on going for a 10 mile race!!! that is fantastic. Hope it is a beautiful day for you.
I think I wrote out my answers this morning while I was feeling like a warrior!

I need to trade one of them out for "Silly," I think. I come from a long, long line of silly people and my family and I really enjoy a variety of different kinds of humor!
The day was perfect, thank you! Low 40's, partly cloudy, no rain. Just a slight wind when we were up on the bridges or the top of the last hill. I could have done without the wind, but really, it was a great day!
"Relentless" is a word I have used over the past few years as I've gotten into the racing and also the weight loss. It is usually part of the phrase I have adopted as my own: "Slow but Relentless." There are so many people with more natural talent for running than I've got, and when I started, I was a lot heavier which generally equals slower. I don't let that stop me, though. I can run a long time at my own pace. I have gotten to a place where I can power up the hills in my neighborhood because they may slow me down, but ultimately, I am going to keep going and keep trying. Similarly, my weight loss has not been rapid, but I don't give up - I just keep going slowly, leaning against those personal limits and giving them a little shove.
