Good morning. I hope everyone had a great week. I am down .6 of a pound. Not much but it is a loss and I will take it.

Don't forget the following from Joanne(JOANNEL)
Please report your weight using the number of pounds ie xxx pounds
If you would like to add your change for the week that is OK ie I lost 2 pounds. Remember weights can be reported in 1/10 of pound increments ie xxx.x pounds.

Please report by midnight Friday
If you are late report as soon as you remember. I know sometimes RL (real life) is more important.

Please PM or email your weekly report to Joanne (JOANNEL )

Now folks, help out a weight keeper here please!! Please report your weekly weight to Joanne by PM or email to jlabbe@sterlingresorts.com . Remember to report by midnight Friday and remember to report in pounds ie xxx pounds (not just I lost x pounds). PrettyPlease!!

I did another mile last night and another this morning. This morning I also tried some new pilates exercises that involved stretch bands. I will get in some steps and 1 more new thing for the challenge (on the first page of last week's thread. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1795905 ) The challenge ends tonight tonight. Look for the new one today and it will start Saturday morning.

Have a magical losing daypixiedust: pixiedust:

How I did it I don't know :confused3 but I'm down 2.5 pounds :cool1:

Actually, I have cut way back on food (and still feel satisfied) - hard boiled egg and banana for breakfast; apple for snack; cup of veggies and some sugar-free jello for lunch; and a reasonable (but smaller portions) for dinner. Also have been walking during my lunch (which I never did).

I need some pixie dust for the weekend, however. Going to a Wine and Small Plates restaurant Saturday night - the food and wine is delicious - just need to remember to eat small portions.

Hey all!

I lost 3 pounds!! I am surprised but I do think I was probably holding some fluid too. I will happily take it though.

Anyway. yesterday after I messed up with the donut, I took my husband's K9 for a nice brisk walk. Keeping up with him ups the pace considerably and we walked about a quarter mile further than what I normally do. I have also been adding a few gradual reps and minutes to my home workouts. I'm not in a position to take stairs more at home, but I have been doing more hills on my walks and parking further away from the store.

I've really been watching what I eat other than yesterday A.M. and staying full. To me, this isn't a diet, it is the way I must eat for the rest of my life if I want to stay healthy.

Hope everyone else's scale is kind to them!

Mary

Whoops, actually it was 4 pounds! It's too early for even simple math, I guess!

My week had it's ups and downs but overall I know I ate less than I would have in a normal week. I did not beat myself up over the downs and just got back on track. A huge habit change for me was this week at the movies. I go to the movies every week (gotta love that free movie night with Optimum Rewards). Anyway...mom and I go every week and I ALWAYS bring a bunch of candy....I don't know, chocoate and movies (my fav is peanut M&M's and a bag of popcorn) just go hand in hand in my mind. But...this week I took a bottle of water with me and a small bag of wheat thins. I made it through OK!!!

Did a little more excerise than I normally do.

Down 4 lbs.!

Thanks for getting Week 2 started! I had a good first week, down 4.6 (it was my first week back on Jenny Craig after not being on it for 2 1/2 years). So that was a good start.

I think i am down 2 (I have to look at my weigh in from last week, but I think I am a little over 2 lbs down). Yesterday I had a little bit of an ice cream problem, so we will see if that effects next week.

Good morning everyone. Hope you all had a good week! I am down 7.1 pounds this week. I am a big guy (started at 290 I must admit), and was always very sedentary. I work behind a desk, and all the exercise I would ever get was walking to and from my car. Shortly before we started (about 2 days before we started lol) I finally bought myself a treadmill. DW and I have been using it every day. I have been walking 2 miles a day, and it seems that 14 miles has paid off a little bit. I also figured out my bmr (http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/ ), and decreased those calories per day by about 900, again I am a big guy so that still put me at 2000 cals a day lol. I thank all of you for the motivation to finally get my butt in gear and get moving. I have a LOT more to go, but this is a good start. :thumbsup2

I am down 1.6 for the week!!!:cool1: I added extra cardio this week so I was hoping for a little more, but slow and steady wins the race I guess!.

Congrats on all the losses... weigh to go!! You guys did amazing!!!
I guess i will be the first one to post a gain... I gained .6 lbs. I am having a hard time getting motivated. I ate better this week but I didn't exercise much. I tried belly dancing on Wed night and that was so much fun... and such a workout! I also walked 2 miles on the treadmill last night! It's a start and that's what I have the hardest time doing... actually starting!! Keep up the great work!!

mrsschlep,
you arent the only one to post a gain. im up a tad over 1 pound. :(

im actually surprised it wasnt more...

this week im back on track before we leave for DW.

i took the biggest loser quiz and got about 2/3s right. kind of disappointed that they didnt give you a tally sheet what you got right / wrong at the end.

i missed the potassium question. the others were just me not knowing what i was talking about ... ;)

I'm down 4 pounds this week but I think probably mostly water weight, could be some real loss too. I exercised more and did eat better, less snacking, but not really dieting. I focused a lot this week on toning and increasing muscle so that I can hopefully increase my metabolism. :yay: :yay: :yay:

Well I'm down 1....wish it was more but it it definitely correlates with the amount of work/effort I put forth. Trying to motivate myself to work harder this next week now!!

Congratulations on all those losses....and if it was a gain or maintain - we all have those eventually just keep at it (I speak from experience I think I posted a maintaing the last 5 weeks of our last BL).

oh, yeah, I forgot...AND we put in the garden this week. This is a great weight loss tool for me because I'm hoeing, bending, and trudging through all that dirt. By the time I get back to the house I'm so tired and dirty I just want a shower. And I put in a bigger section for my herbs which just made me crave fresh things. Did more cooking with veggies this week to clean out the freezer for all those beautiful new veggies that we'll have.

How I cook squash:
1 splash olive oil in the bottom of my pan
throw in several sliced squash (fill the pan, it cooks down)
1/4 cup of chopped onion
dash salt & pepper

put the lid on, let them cook down, stirring occasionally. Sqash cooks down a lot, you won't end up with as much as you started with.

Once it's cooked down, drain off the water. Then add 3 or 4 slices of fat-free cheese. Let it melt and stir it in.

We love this and I use it in place of potatoes, like when I make meatloaf.
I love squash casserole and this gives me the flavor without all the extra calories.

Another tip, when I chop my onion, I use a big onion and chop the whole thing. 1/4 cup chopped onion is roughly equal to 1 small onion in cooking. I use what I need, then divide the rest up in 1/4 cups, put in freezer bags and throw in the freezer. Then when I have a limited time to cook, I don't to chop onion, just grab a bag from the freezer!

I stayed the same! I guess it's not so bad considering my double family party last weekend. I really wasn't a good girl that day. :sad2: But I have a positive attitude. I feel great and I am now walking down the stairs - 4 flights each time - instead of using the elevator. So here's to another good week all!
