Question of the Day: What exercise do you really enjoy doing?
I like to walk and play tennis in the summer. In the winter I enjoy doing my Biggest Loser DVD.

I'm from Pittsburgh (Squirrel Hill area)! Glad to see so many PA peeps love Disney!

I did Tae Bo last night and boy do I feel it today! I took a peek on the scale this morning and I am already down 4 lbs :cool1:. I just hope it stays that way until Tuesday's official WI.

Welcome to all our new comers!

Have a great day!

Good morning everyone! Well I've started my day out on a positive note. For the past few days I've only been doing 30 minutes on the elliptical, but today I managed to get up early enough, popped in my Season 1 Buffy dvd and worked out to a full episode! It's a small victory but a victory nontheless!!!

Question of the Day: What exercise do you really enjoy doing?

Um, well I'm getting to where I actually don't mind the Elliptical all that much! Other than that I love to play tennis but I just don't really have anyone to play with!

What exercising to I enjoy?-- nothing- but I like my step classes and walking if I have a buddy. Unless it's around deck 10:goodvibes Then I can walk forever!!!! I need some one in the front of the room telling me what to do. I have to go on my way home from work or I wouldn't get there.

I like to walk and I love to swim. In my head though...I would love to eventually join an adult rec soccer team. Never been on any rec league and my kids all play soccer and it looks so fun. I am not a softball girl (played in elem school) and I hate volleyball...but let me run on grass and kick a ball...that looks fun.

I also have envisioned taking either strip-excersize classes or belly dancing classes. (If I can hang on a pole upside down and not break my neck...that would be a miracle:rotfl2: .....Seriously... I know a woman who has lost 50 pounds with diet and that is her exersize...she said they laugh non stop and she felt like she was being taught to love herself as a sexy woman and she has never felt sexy before. She is 45 and not looking for a new job...just a way to look in the miror and know she can be sensual....the pole dancing is just for her...not for her man...he though...just sawed off their old swingset in the backyard and is looking at renovating their bedroom:lmao: )

Probably more my style would be boxing....sometimes ya just want to hit someone ya know!:woohoo:

Molli I can relate to the strange spelling. My name is Dona with one "n". I have never found anything with the spelling of my name. My twin's name is Dena and recently we have seen her name popping up but not mine.

What exercise do I enjoy?? I like walking outside - but I'm really enjoying "playing" Dance Dance Revolution. It is so much fun that I don't feel like I'm "exercising" but at the same time I'm sweating like crazy and do get winded so it's working.

It's good to see everyone doing so well. I officially started on Tuesday and so far so good. I've stayed within my points and exercised every night. I'm leaving for Disney next Saturday and am not going to "count" points but I am going to try and stay reasonable. It should help that we will have a full kitchen since we're staying in a condo. And I plan to share meals with my DD so that will help also.

Keep up the good work everyone!!
Amanda

My Favorite excerise? I like to walk/run thru the park. I invision myself walking/running thru WDW in the marthon however i know it takes me 10 mins to get from Germany to the resort buses (while drinking a large beer).

I also signed up for the 2002 WDW marathon at 300lbs. I never made it to the start line though, Sept 11th happened and i quit training. Annette and i have been talking about doing the minnie in may and possibly the half or full next January. I have always wanted to run the Boston Marathon but have never been motivated enough to train that hard (8:50 per mile). I would love to run a marathon before my 40th but will settle for a marathon within my 40th year.

Sorry i'm long winded today.

Amanda

ps 3rd day and keeping up with everything. :yay: I had to meet a client at mcdonalds this am and didnt even order a coffee. I came home and made my own egg mcmuffin where i could control how it was made and what went into it.

Well, the spelling of Molli is really not that interesting, BUT my DH wanted the name Mollie, Molly, Molli and he, of course, had no objection as to how it was spelled. Basically, I chose Molli with an “I” and Kristine with a “K” because I liked the way it looked for her monogram! Truly, I never gave it a thought (I did have a c-section and was on “drugs” so my thinking probably was a bit “altered”) that spelling her name that way would cause her the “trauma” through life that she claims! (NEVER had a "store-bought" license plate for her bike, a pencil printed with her name, etc) Though, now I am wondering is this the REAL reason she as turned to "blood and guts" reading :rolleyes1 When the spelling of her name becomes topic of conversation, I always just respond “it looks so CUTE that way- don’t you agree??????

Bev, Dona and Moli, I can TOTALLY relate to the interesting name spellings! Can you imagine as a kid in the 70's and 80's looking for something with the name of "Vija"?:confused3 All I saw was Sue, Tammy and Lisa! I remember the first time I had something made just for me! DH (boyfriend at the time) went to one of those woodcarving places and had them carve my name. He is so thoughtfull!

Good Friday morning everyone. I see that I am not the first one on this morning.

Question of the Day: What exercise do you really enjoy doing?

For me it is yoga and walking. The yoga gives me the energy I need to get through the day. The walking takes me away. I often imagine myself walking in MK or Epcot to give myself some incentive.

Next?

I love walking in the summer, and Dona I LOVE the idea of imaging walking in MK or Epcot, I will have to try that. I also like to do my workout videos and we have an elliptical at home. My favorite are the videos. I have quite the library I've aquired over the years.....:confused3 :lmao:

For me it is running on the treadmill. Once I hit my stride, I feel like I can run forever. Its therapeutic. I can feel it making a difference in my body.

Isn't it great when you get in that "zone"? It is the best feeling!

Good morning everyone!

I like to marathon walk - well, right now, it is 5k and 10k.

Can you believe that I put myself on the start line at the Disney half in 2006 at nearly 350 lbs! Utter madness to ever think I could do such a feat, and I must have been crazy, but something did awaken in me.

Racing at this size is really hard though, so I am hoping to lose 80lbs before I complete my half at the Spacecoast marathon event on November 30th.

Am really happy that I only gained .2 pounds over Christmas.

Have a great day.

Linda

Wow, you inspire me! DH just commited to doing the 1/2 marathon with me in 2 years. I am so excited!

Now that sounds interesting! I'm sure DH would be very thankful if I joined that kind of class!:blush::blush:

Hey I have a PSA, they announced on the TV that People Magazine is coming out with their annual "they lost 1/2 their body size" issue and should be on the newsstands today - Friday! I'll be heading out to go get one!

I actually struggled a bit yesterday, I was so hungry and I couldn't stop eating, it was actually very bizzarre. I couldn't figure out why in the world I was famished all day. I truly have never felt like that before. I almost felt more hungry as I ate? Never felt full, or satisfied, what is up with that?:confused3 I did exercise yesterday, and felt pretty good about that, so I am going to make sure I get my exercise in today.

Hi all,

Let's see....my favorite exercise??? Probably walking. It's really the only exercise I do as I don't belong to a gym right now....though I am seriously considering joining one. I am really struggling to find the time to exercise at home (on my treadmill), so I'm thinking that if I join a gym in the town I work I can at least get in 3 days during my work week (part time). ????

So I feel like I have been on track with WW this week - but like I said, no exercising. So that's on my to do list. I'm just trying to tackle one thing at a time right now.

Question for anyone who can answer....when is our official weigh in day??? Or when are we supposed to report our weights?? I've looked for the info but haven't found it yet. TIA!

Hope everyone has a good day!
Erin

I believe walking is the best form of exercise. I enjoy walking and jogging. It really works, especially for me and my body.

Hi Everyone,

I am off to a much better start this week than the last few... My snack monster was just plain out of control, but for the past five days, I have been good and stuck to my eating plan and only ate the planned snacks and not handfuls of whatever happened to be in the fridge.

I am starting to do more walking and can't wait for my aqua aerobics class to start up. Walking and swimming are amongst my favorite forms of exercise these days...

Hope everyone is having a great week...

Erin Officiall weigh in is Tuesday. There will be a new thread started on Tuesday morning. YOu need to email your weight to Brenda at blct@comcast.net

Here is the long awaited buddy list!

I worked very hard on this and litterally spent hours matching up our challengers, looking at weight to loose, plans everyone is on, etc. I hope you enjoy your buddy! PLEASE make sure to PM your buddy, introduce yourself, and tell them what you need from your buddy! MOST IMPORTANTLY HAVE FUN WITH THIS!!!!!

Also, there is no way to know in advace which of our challengers are going to go MIA. Inevitably some drop out of challenges. If you drop out, please remember your buddy is counting on you. This is not just for this challenge, but a way for you to have some extra, personal support. Stay in touch!!!!

If you find your buddy goes MIA, please let me know, we can do match up's in groups or match to another who lost their buddy.

The list is alphabetical so finding your buddy should be a snap! And yes, there is one group of 3... You are very lucky to have extra support!!!!:grouphug:

My favorite exercise is walking. I prefer the treadmill because I have vision issues that make walking outside somewhat risky/uncomfortable. I also can read and listen to music without concern about traffic or people approaching. Or, if I am on the TM for 2 hours, I will watch a movie on my ipod video, which really makes the time pass. I typically watch something really upbeat or a musical, and try to jog through good songs that come up.

Vija -- I have what I call "voracious days" too. Totally inexplicable. I really do try to keep lots of fruits and veggies on hand. One of the foods that really fills me is brown rice. I also try to keep a mix of kidney or black beans with corn & salsa in my fridge. Something about the carb & protein mix is satisfying, together with spicy salsa.

Yay, the buddy list is out!! THank you so much, Vija for working so hard on this! And my buddy is already a great WISH friend, so how cool is that!

Question of the day:
What exercise do you really enjoy doing?

For me I like to lift weights, no particular exercise in that area. It just makes me feel strong and I like the definition I get when I lift.

ETA:
Has anyone signed up for that biggest loser - help the country lose a million pounds thing?

Amanda-
I have decided to do the Minnie in May :) I think I want to do the 15K though, I know that will be tough so I really need to get my but in gear.

I also thought about doing the half in 2009 as well!
