Hi, everyone! I am so happy to be getting through my third day of "being good" successfully! I am seeing the weight drop off pretty quickly from my holiday indulgences, just by drinking more than 8 glasses of water a day and by keeping within the calorie range that sparkpeople suggests.

I am so happy to be using the resources available on that website, while also following weight watchers. I hadn't realized that I was eating way too many carbs on some days but most days overdoing on protein. Especially now, in the homestretch to the marathon, I have to be fueling my body with a good balance of both AND hydrating.

I really appreciate the WISHers who started this challenge and the effort that goes into sustaining it. I know it is a lot of work, and I hope you know how many people your efforts are helping. :grouphug: Thanks bunches! :flower1:

Anyone know when we're getting our "buddies?" I'm so excited... and I've been so GOOD today! :cool1:

My accomplishment for the day was resisting temptation in the form of a drive-thru. After a long day of work and school - I was driving home and passed Checkers, Wendys, White Castle, KFC, McDonalds and my favorite local taco place. It took a lot of willpower, but I steered my car directly home knowing that I had a pre-planned dinner in the fridge. (Peppers and onions over brown rice with shredded chicken - yummy :) )

Good job to everybody who did something positive today - no matter how big or small :thumbsup2

Molli I love that you love blood and guts murder books. I have the Disney villian poster in my class room. One of my students asked me why? I told them that I love the villians. One students piped up "Mrs. Coffey we never knew you had a dark side."

I love the villains as well.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :cool1: :cool1:

Anyone know when we're getting our "buddies?" I'm so excited... and I've been so GOOD today! :cool1:

Stay tuned! I will post them tomorrow. I have had several requests for buddies still come in today, so I appreciate your patience, and I am sure the people that are still joining us appreciate the opportunity for a buddy. But I know everyone is excited so I will post them tomorrow. If anyone joins after the buddy list is posted, I will then pair up the buddies that join in sequential order.

thanks guys for your patience!:hourglass

Well I didn't make it passed day 2. My youngest decided to cook dinner for the family, how could I turn down his attempt at a strawberry cake. It was yummy, but back to the lettuce tomorrow.

Ok, I am so glad to join! I have been heavy (technically obese, but I carry it pretty well- or so I like to think :)) more of my life than I was thin. That is sobering. I will be 30 in Oct and I started gaining weight when I was 15 following series of orthopedic surgeries. I lost about 65 lbs 4 yrs ago (where does the time go) but then got pregnant. Ok no problem, I was nursing and didn't gain all that much. . . then we (DH, DD and I) had an 80 mph head-on collision three weeks postpartum. We were completely debilitated- couldn't walk, had DMIL and DM living with us to take care of us and infant daughter. It was awful. . . and I ate. And I sat. And I was ANGRY. And frustrated and in pain. So I ate. . .

Now I am ready to lose the weight and let go of the reminders of bad times and embrace living. . . Let the Good Times Roll!!! :rotfl:

OK Bev, please elaborate!
Well, the spelling of Molli is really not that interesting, BUT my DH wanted the name Mollie, Molly, Molli and he, of course, had no objection as to how it was spelled. Basically, I chose Molli with an “I” and Kristine with a “K” because I liked the way it looked for her monogram! Truly, I never gave it a thought (I did have a c-section and was on “drugs” so my thinking probably was a bit “altered”) that spelling her name that way would cause her the “trauma” through life that she claims! (NEVER had a "store-bought" license plate for her bike, a pencil printed with her name, etc) Though, now I am wondering is this the REAL reason she as turned to "blood and guts" reading
by MOLLI (ohMom) i love intense murder books, blood guts and all
:rolleyes1 When the spelling of her name becomes topic of conversation, I always just respond “it looks so CUTE that way- don’t you agree??????

Day #3 for me AND I already know I will be OP today - why - because I am on a "roll"! I went to a retirement party last night and planned throughout the day knowing I would have dinner there. Well - I just couldn't bring myself to actually eat anything! Sandwiches were on croissants and "fried" chicken, chips, cake I think I did see some veggies but I was just like -eh- so I came home had some cottage cheese and a couple of graham crackers and hot tea(honey vanilla chamomille- YUM). Now, it was past my 7:00 PM time of eating but I knew I needed to have something and so I feel like I made a "decent" choice and then I -high-tailed it out of the kitchen :thumbsup2

I have lots of reading to "catch up" on the Q & A posts but wanted to WELCOME everyone and MelC - good to see you back here :flower3:

I was thinking it might be a day off for me but DH just annouced he was "off the TM" guess that was his hint - go get busy :rotfl2: nice to have "support" - so I won't really complain!

Here's to a great day everyone - and be strong on the weekend (that is a reminder to ME too!) :grouphug:

Good Friday morning everyone. I see that I am not the first one on this morning.

I have been doing a lousy job that last two days but I think I am back on track this morning. I have planned out my day, packed my lunch and worked out. I am now at work getting ready for the day.

Hope everyone is has great day.

Question of the Day: What exercise do you really enjoy doing?

For me it is yoga and walking. The yoga gives me the energy I need to get through the day. The walking takes me away. I often imagine myself walking in MK or Epcot to give myself some incentive.

Next?

Good morning! I have to say I enjoy riding my exercise bike.I would like a treadmill but i don't have the room,my sons music equipment and computer/recording stuff has taken over the house. So for now the bike will have to do. Everybody have a good day.

Good morning! My favorite exercise is walking! When the weather was nicer I would go out for a two mile walk at lunch each day. However living in Chicagoland that weather hasn't been good enough for that the last couple of months which is why I kind of stalled. So I've taken my walking indoors. I have a treadmill that I need to get back on and I also have the WATP DVD's to follow. That's what I did yesterday and plan to do tonight.

Good Morning! I don't really like to exercise! lol! I make myself do it, but I probalby like classes the best. I really like step class, but can rarely make it. I do try to get to aquacise once a week too. Right now my focus is running (althought I really don't care for it..). I'm doing my first 5K here one week! Actually, by this time next Friday, I just have just run throught the Animal Kingdom!!!

For me it is running on the treadmill. Once I hit my stride, I feel like I can run forever. Its therapeutic. I can feel it making a difference in my body.

Good morning everyone!

I like to marathon walk - well, right now, it is 5k and 10k.

As big as I am I really like to "race" - lol, usually DFL with just me an the ambulance driver, but I do it and have never been in the ambulance yet.

Can you believe that I put myself on the start line at the Disney half in 2006 at nearly 350 lbs! Utter madness to ever think I could do such a feat, and I must have been crazy, but something did awaken in me.

I am still chasing the Disney donald (or even more), but going more slowly this time.

Racing at this size is really hard though, so I am hoping to lose 80lbs before I complete my half at the Spacecoast marathon event on November 30th.

Am really happy that I only gained .2 pounds over Christmas.

Have a great day.

good morning :surfweb:

What exercise do you really enjoy doing?

dona again we have commonalities! yoga and walking are my picks -- yoga b/c it's so mentally relaxing and refreshing and i feel so much better when i practice yoga consistently (flexibility feels great!) and walking b/c i can just go in my zone and go! someday the music gets me going...other days i just love being outside and away from the chaos of the day

stacie!! i'm so excited and i'm not even going! you will have such a great experience!

i too am struggling with getting my exercise back into routine after the holidays and slacking...

mom -- do you remember that denim backpack you had specially ordered/made with my name embroidered in pink? i do  i guess you made up for the drug-induced misspelling of my name :rotfl2: but folks think of me when you consider a 'unique' spelling for your child :rolleyes1 one day i'll be on a panel on Oprah of adults who never had personalized rulers or stickers as a child.

joannel -- i have been there! it's hard to resist a cute face and their effort but no more cake!! :thumbsup2

Laura -- GREAT JOB!! feels good to be in control!

off i go......
