Biggest Loser 2009 - Couples 2

I can't believe Helen - she is the witch with a B - I caught how she almost said that about Tara but instead she caught herself and said Baby - just in time. Ugh - I like Tara and she seems to really want the weight loss and she is fighting for it. I was very impressed with her 1/2 marathon time - that is awesome and then for Helen to vindictivally give her 5 mins was just wrong. And Aubrey did eat 2 cookies - guess she decided against giving time to Tara or Sione - good for her. As far as Sione - I don't really care for him (especially after him and his cousin cry babied the other week and still won't work out with Jillian) but I have to give him credit for a great time in the 1/2 as well. I know what it feels like to have a muscle cramp like he got (luckly mine was after I was done with my 26 miles and not before the finish line) Actually I have to give them all credit - getting out there and running or walking for 13.1 miles is a big accomplishment no matter how much time it took them. Even Ron should be proud of his accomplishment - they all at least got out there and did their best. I would have died doing 13.1 miles inside on a track

I'm totally clueless when it comes to weight loss. When Jillian told Tara she was "over-training" - what did she mean? Is Tara "burning out her adrenals"? Is she building so much muscle that the number on the scale won't go down much, if at all? (doesn't muscle weigh more than fat?) :confused3

I think Tara is awesome. :thumbsup2

I like Tara as well. She is the one I am gunning for.

Not sure on your question. I know you have to take in enough calories to burn fat and you have to give your muscles rest.

I think she freaked her body out at home, trying to overdo it?:confused3

Wow, I thought this thread would be hopping by now...

So, did Aubrey eat two cookies or not???? Did you see Kristen trying to raise Aubrey's hand when Allison asked if anyone had eaten any?

I think Kristen and Cathy had an agreement going. I think Kristen will lose BIG next week!

I think more than just the one cookie was eaten but it was all that was needed to make the cousin the winner.

Did anyone else think the shot of Kristin finishing the marathon look staged? She didn't look sweaty or tired at all. :confused3

and the fact that not 4 miles into it she was gasping and sweating.

It's hard enough to run marathons and half marathons without worrying about whether someone ate a stupid cookie to add to your time. I wish time alone had determined the winner because the task was so difficult. Helen was just vindictive to eat the cookie and add to Tara's time...that was not gameplay. I already dislike Bob, ROn, Felipe and Sione, now Helen.

Take the words right out of my brain, why don't you?:rotfl: :thumbsup2

VENT:
I know most of you are on the, "I hate Ron" bandwagon and I understand what you are saying but I am so tired of only seeing the guy on the treadmill and stair stepper. Bob is suppose to be this great, knowledgeable trainer. Why on earth isn't Ron doing upper body work in the gym and working his knee in the pool? Everytime they show Ron in the background at the gym, it drives me insane.

I did not like how they handled the whole cookie eating results. We have no idea who ate how many cookies against who.

Yet they have time to spend over a half an hour on the weigh ins...

He might not be doing much upper body because last night Mike said he only had one good knee and one good shoulder.
As for what happened between Helen and Tara, I think there was nothing wrong with it. This is a game and maybe if Tara was a little more modest and nice people wouldn't be out to get her. I didn't count but quite a few people comment about how Tara says how much better she is doing than everyone else.
I thought it was funny when she was so angry.:happytv:

I don't hate Ron...I do not like the way he game plays....I felt duped.

I think they (the producers) have done a great disservice by not showing Ron doing anything but the treadmill.

I find it ironic that the most weight he has lost in a long time was done at home...by himself!!

I'm over Ron.

I got choked up at the reaction from Mike's little bro in seeing Ron and Mike's weight loss. Made me wish he was on the show instead of Ron.

I never get emotional watching this show but I also got choked up watching the younger son. I hope Ron and Mike can motivate him when they return home. I felt so bad for him.

I hate to keep defending Ron because I don't like him either BUT it isn't his fault he is on the show and his younger son isn't. The younger son was too young to be on BL.

I will always give props to Ron and for sticking by his son and Cathy for protecting her daughter. I don't want either one to win but both have my respect over Helen who sold out her own daughter just so she could stay on the show.

OK, I do not get "Cathy" protecting Kristen. Aubrey could have gone home.

WTH was that, really?

you are right. They did/are doing right by their children.

I don't get it either. I was astounded last week at Blue's brilliant game play of getting rid of ex-Jillian players one-by-one and now Cathy goes home :confused3. It just doesn't make any sense at all to me.

They were just at home so maybe she was homesick and wanted to go back?

Frankly she did not "protect her" she "hurt her", right?

That is how I see it.

I didn't think she was angry at all. I think that she expected it. Original Bob will always look out for Original Julian. That is just the way these players are looking at it. Helen knew she wasn't going to get the money. She just didn't want Tara to get it. I hear just as much bragging from all of the other black team members. Tara can normally back it up with a win, though.

I don't know but for the first time I'm not pissed off at Bob's team. For the first time someone realized that they were not helping the team by staying.

I'm so sick and tired of hearing Bob's team complain about losing so much when they did it to themselves by voting off their strongest players when they were still playing a team competion. Still thinking about "old bob" and "old julian" lines that were drawn and hiding behind "it's the right thing to do" Have you seen the players they sent home (minus last night) they look good but they've not lost all that much weight compared to seasons past. Anyone who thinks a mother of 5 will do fine at home obviously has no children.

So karma is all I can say about the blue team. They've gotten what they deserve for voting off players that would have, in the long run, helped them win. It is, of course, what Ron wanted. Blue losing ensures that his son stays.

A couple random thoughts:

Helen: I hate that she ate the cookie and took $10K away from Tara. It wasn't "gameplay" since someone like Helen wouldn't have won unless everyone ate cookies to bring both Tara and Sione (the ones that everyone expected to do well) down. I think it was a "Bob's Old Team v/s Jillian's Old Team" thing and very spiteful ... especially the way she said "This is for you b ... baby" :sad2:. IMO and Tara had every right to be angry.

Ron: Did anyone else notice what a well-toned hottie Ron's wife is ?!? I was shocked. I don't remember seeing her before and I was surprised that the entire rest of the family is HUGE and she is all fit and trim. What's up with that? I know that you can't be 100% responsible for what grown-ups put in their mouths, but what about your kids? Why are Mike and Max so horribly obese when she obviously knows how to eat? Doesn't she cook for her own kids?
