Biggest Loser 2009 - Couples 2

OK, I do not get "Cathy" protecting Kristen. Aubrey could have gone home.

WTH was that, really?

I looked at it from a few different aspects (and maybe I am reading too much into it but these were the opinions I formed):

1. As an experienced mom, Cathy knew that Aubrey (a young mom) needed this. She sacrificed herself when she knew that Aubrey was next to go. I know this may not have helped her own daughter but it was noble of her. She is looking at it as a mom instead of a game player. I respect that.

2. While going home didn't help her daughter this week, I think she established some good will. Aubrey may help save Kristin since Cathy saved her. If they split from their teams next week, Kristen may have an ally in Aubrey.

I do think they are splitting into individual players now. The preview from next week showed the girls back in their original color sports bras for the weigh in. Tara was wearing a Green one and Kristin was in purple.

Anyone else notice the walking cast on Laura's foot when they walked into the gym after being at home? In the walking in shot she had it on then when they were standing still it was off. :confused3

That would make sense if Aubrey has formed an alliance with Kristen.

But they are going to individuals most likely at the next weigh-in so it might now matter so much.

And yes, samw. that was Ron's goal sooooooo.......

Guess who is going to go HOME next week? If they weigh-in as individuals it is going to be "RON". He might even throw it.

That will certainly be interesting.;)

I am so confused by the blue team's game play this season too!! If they would have voted off Aubrey, and assuming that they go to singles next week, then Ron, Mike, Cathy and Kristin would have had a 4 way voting block. How many are left, 8??

Also, I am STUNNED that Ron has lost 100 lbs! It seemed like he was only losing 5 pounds per week for the longest time....

Oh well, off to chew some Extra Sugar Free gum...

Again, strictly my take on it but I am certain the blue team recognizes that they screwed up long ago. They know that they have virtually no chance of winning this thing. Cathy could have bought herself another week by voting for Aubrey and Ron and Kristen would follow suit. She didn't. You can look at it like she is an idiot (possible) or she was being selfless (my hope) and giving Aubrey another week.

I forget which house they were at when the guy ate a brownie and one of the BL contestants had him try the Extra gum instead. The guy thought the gum was soooooo good. Yeah right! In the great battle between gum and brownies, brownies will always win.

It was Tara's house... made me laugh too!! (of course then I also wanted brownies too!)

A couple random thoughts:

Helen: I hate that she ate the cookie and took $10K away from Tara. It wasn't "gameplay" since someone like Helen wouldn't have won unless everyone ate cookies to bring both Tara and Sione (the ones that everyone expected to do well) down. I think it was a "Bob's Old Team v/s Jillian's Old Team" thing and very spiteful ... especially the way she said "This is for you b ... baby" :sad2:. IMO and Tara had every right to be angry.

Ron: Did anyone else notice what a well-toned hottie Ron's wife is ?!? I was shocked. I don't remember seeing her before and I was surprised that the entire rest of the family is HUGE and she is all fit and trim. What's up with that? I know that you can't be 100% responsible for what grown-ups put in their mouths, but what about your kids? Why are Mike and Max so horribly obese when she obviously knows how to eat? Doesn't she cook for her own kids?

I thought the same thing about Ron's wife. She is fit and trim yet her sons are morbidly obese. Didn't someone say that Max was only 16? I sure hope that when Ron and Mike get home from the ranch they help Max loose the weight. I got choaked up when they showed him when he first saw them - how sad :grouphug:

I just wish Aubrey's dad would have really listened to what she was saying - he needs help and all he could do was make jokes about it. Hopefully Mandy will be able to talk to him as well and he will realize that he needs to make a change in order to be around for his grandbabies - again how sad :sad2:

Here is a blurb from next 2 weeks show, from TV.com. Sorry that I don't know how to "white out" the text, so I'll just post the link, in case someone doesn't want to know. It doesn't give any spoilers as to who does what, but it does talk in detail about the challenges, and plot twists.

I was really surprised, but really happy to see Aubrey stay. I did like Kathy though, so that part stunk. I agree w/ the PP who thought it was for future alliances.

Loved that the Tonga boys didn't lose much. Maybe its not Jillian's fault.

Helen showed her true colors this week. Mean and spiteful. That was just a stupid stupid challenge. I would like to know who Aubrey was trying to take down by eating the cookies though?

I think people who are still with their partners will be thought of as threats when the play goes to individual. Maybe that's why Cathy thought she was "helping" Kristen?:confused3 I would want to break up partners if I were on the show.

I think now that they are going to singles, Ron will be staying around longer. Makes better sense now for gameplay. If two people fall below the yellow line, which would you rather compete against in the finals for $250,000? Ron or Felipe? or Ron and Tara? Everyone knows at this point they would have a better chance against Ron. Also in the previews, it showed Felipe and Sione in the blue t-shirts standing with Bob's team for the weigh-in.
And did anyone else notice Laura's belly button? I'd never noticed it before but last night it looked like a 3 inch long slit in her stomach.

I would like to know who Aubrey was trying to take down by eating the cookies though?

Tara. Remember her at home pulling the cookies out of the tin saying "tara, tara, tara"?
At least I think that was her.

As far as Cathy, I think she wanted to go back home. She was homesick after being home that week and her daughter was the one to let her go.

She knew she was not going to be "the Biggest Loser".

Who was injured? Kristen and Laura? I just listened to Jillian Michael's 1/11 podcast and she said that "one of the girls" has a stress fracture and she can't work out on the treadmill and that "girl" lost 8 pounds this week. That show was recorded about 1-2 weeks after the marathon segment was recorded (Jillian mentioned it on her first Jan podcast).

Some other Biggest Loser tidbits ... she worked her people out for 6 hours the very first day :scared1: and she and Bob train the other's contestants when they are not filming. She also said that Ron had his jaw wired shut at some point in his life, but it wasn't clear if it was an attempt to lose weight.

oh, thanks for the link. It looks like Allie is going on maternity leave in 2 weeks. I wonder if it will be guest hosts for the rest of the season?

If everybody is going back to their original colors, then Felipe and Sione would be Blue, no matter what Trainer they choose to work with. Are they standing over on Bob's side during the weigh in? I haven't seen it. Did Helen and Mike move back over also?

If Jillian goes down to only concentrating all her effort on Tara, Laura, and Aubrey, I think they have the potential to all stay above the yellow line for quite awhile.

I wonder what next Tuesday will bring. Will it be another 2 parter? or cancelled? or shown early in the morning (like 2am?) or even on Weds?

I only wonder b/c the President has decided that Tuesdays are good nights to use for his "News Briefings" and 8pm is the time he's chosen to talk. He's already did it one time and now next Tuesday will be his second.

Couldn't he alternate nights, or something? I don't like the 2 parters.

Kristin and Cathy are from the area where I live and here's what the local newspaper has to say:

http://www.postcrescent.com/article/20090318/APC0113/90318029

I forgot they were Wisconsinites!

Hmmm ....

Cathy said:
“At that point the game’s being played and you can’t trust anybody,” Skell said. “I was so afraid of this going into a tie and the black team would come and get rid of Kristin. It was one of my biggest fears. …I figured this was the time I needed to go, but the whole trick was she had to vote for me to make this work. That’s why it was so emotional.”
So it appears that she was afraid that Ron was going to force a tie and get rid of Kristin.

So she is alluding to the fact that Ron wanted to get rid of Kristen instead of Aubrey?

That is odd. I am not really following the blue team. What happened to "let's stick together"?:confused3

Or is this just more of Ron's baloney? Hmmmm.

I can't believe that in all of this and as late as I am to the thread that no one has mentioned my favorite line....Jillian saying to Tara, "Just so you know, I am really good at this job." :lmao: When she was trying to Tara to listen to her about how to lose the weight.

Wow, I thought this thread would be hopping by now...

So, did Aubrey eat two cookies or not???? Did you see Kristen trying to raise Aubrey's hand when Allison asked if anyone had eaten any?
I still want to know about those cookies Aubrey ate.
VENT:
I know most of you are on the, "I hate Ron" bandwagon and I understand what you are saying but I am so tired of only seeing the guy on the treadmill and stair stepper. Bob is suppose to be this great, knowledgeable trainer. Why on earth isn't Ron doing upper body work in the gym and working his knee in the pool? Everytime they show Ron in the background at the gym, it drives me insane.
I don't hate Ron and I do agree with you. A few weeks ago when they were doing the outside training thing where everyone was locked out of the gym, Bob was taking everyone to the beach and he told Ron that the whole time they were gone he wanted him in the pool. But then Jillian's team was working out there and he was nowhere to be seen. Quite odd. I would really like to see more of the work in the pool as Ron is a great way to introduce ideas of how to work out when you have some other physical ailments.
I did not like how they handled the whole cookie eating results. We have no idea who ate how many cookies against who.

Yet they have time to spend over a half an hour on the weigh ins...
Half an hour??? Wasn't it longer than that?:rotfl:
I'm over Ron.

I got choked up at the reaction from Mike's little bro in seeing Ron and Mike's weight loss. Made me wish he was on the show instead of Ron.
That broke me heart. I really really hope that when they get home they are able to help the brother. I am optimistic that they will as they'll have the support he will need right there. I was SO proud of Mike for eating that salad at the pizza place. (Ron too, but he is a grown up.)
I don't know but for the first time I'm not pissed off at Bob's team. For the first time someone realized that they were not helping the team by staying.

I'm so sick and tired of hearing Bob's team complain about losing so much when they did it to themselves by voting off their strongest players when they were still playing a team competion. Still thinking about "old bob" and "old julian" lines that were drawn and hiding behind "it's the right thing to do" Have you seen the players they sent home (minus last night) they look good but they've not lost all that much weight compared to seasons past. Anyone who thinks a mother of 5 will do fine at home obviously has no children.

So karma is all I can say about the blue team. They've gotten what they deserve for voting off players that would have, in the long run, helped them win. It is, of course, what Ron wanted. Blue losing ensures that his son stays.

I agree with everything you said here. The first week after they got rid of Dane, I was like "hello, you idiots....of course you are losing. You sent a big strong guy home and kept the dude who can't even participate." Duh.

I want to know when they are going to get makeovers......
