Biggest Loser 2009 - Couples 2

Weight Lost divided by Starting Weight (or Previous Weight, if you prefer) equals your % Lost.

For example, if a person loses 10 pounds (Weight Lost = 10 pounds) and they started at 200 pounds (Starting Weight = 200 pounds), their percentage lost would be 5% (10/200 = .05 or 5%).

That looks like math, sort of. :3dglasses

Nooo, they'd never stage a forgotten water bottle and happen to have Britta reusable bottles right there handy. Or highly recommend Cinnamon-Flavored Extra Sugar Free gum to help with those pesky cravings...on purpose! :sad2: OY.

When Ali announced what the twist was, I was kind of hoping for deja vu of a couple seasons back.....

Remember when they had Bob and that other girl trainer - then they sneakily had Jillian training another team in secret? I was hoping for that for the kicked off people - maybe that other trainer was going to train them secretly.

Some of us, including me, thought that too. I really wish that was the case. I don't like Kim, but those players deserved a chance, for goodness sake.

Michelle Aguilar won NBC's "Biggest Loser" challenge, and nine days later, she's making plans to marry.

Michelle's boyfriend of four months Matthew Whitehead popped the question, she tells US magazine. "I was so shocked!" the 27-year-old says of the proposal.

Michelle lost 110 pounds on the show, making her the champion of the "Biggest Loser." She says she will "absolutely" be using some of her $250,000 in prize money to pay for the wedding.

The couple plans to wed in the fall of this year.

Wow...they only dated 4 months. That's pretty quick.

OK, so I've read all 21 pages now. First, I don't think it is fair to send 9 people home right from the start. I really think that they should all get 2 weeks on the ranch before they send anybody home. Then they could send 2people home in week 2. That way they all get to learn some good eating and exercise habits. (Remember when they were all exercising alone in the beginning and they really didn't know what to do.) These people that they sent home didn't know how to lose weight before the show and they certainly haven't had time to learn.

Second, I really would like to see the show more about weight loss not games. Giving immunity is ok, but I think that the person with the lowest percentage of weight loss should be the one going home each week -- they need to take responsibility for their own actions.

All of that said, my favorites are the Orange Team (they are just so young and really need help) and the White Team (they are just so cute together.)

I wonder if they were only there a week or longer? They really didn't show much of the work outs etc. last night or what they taught them about food.

I noticed that the steps were all red when they first went in the gym then they were blue and black in another shot.

Allison said 1 week, I think.

I'm not that crazy about the silver team, either, but I thought it was really nice when one of them (which one was it?) hugged the pink (?) team member and said something like "don't feel bad - you lost more than I did."

First off, I was rooting for brown team dad, but I just know he won't keep it off, and when I saw that picture of his TWO sons who are both enormous, I couldn't help but thinking at what point wouldn't a parent say enough is enough? I'll bet those boys were both overweight even as little children, and that really upsets me.

My dd was getting really upset when they showed the clip of Jerry passing out - at least until he woke up and said "am I on the floor?" Sorry, but it just struck us as being so funny! I'm so glad he is okay - he looked ghastly when it was happening!!!

I'm in. I was shocked by the sending of 9 people home. Everybody this season is soooooo big, so it'll be an interesting finale. I can already tell.

I watched last night, with this show Tivo really is your friend! I feel the same way about sending 9 people home after 1 week. There is no way that they could learn enough after a lifetime of bad habits to really succeed. If the show isn't helping them behind the scenes, then it seems really unfair to them.

I would appreciate more information on diet as well. Our resolution for this year is to improve our diet, so DH and I were looking for more food information. We exercise well, but we could use some motivation to eat better.

Have you cut down on canned and boxed foods? That is where I started.

It took time. And now after several yrs., my palate has changed. Boxed foods will taste like a brick of salt after you retrain yourself.

I cut out margarine on veggies. I can steam them and eat them plain. You don't need to add spices or toppings. Again it takes awhile to retrain your mind that eating plain veggies is normal.

Now, I am going to the next level. I have to train myself out of margarine completely.:scared: Not sure how I am going to do that, however it has to be done for me. I eat way too much of it.

I am still eating processed snacks. That is on my list however I won't "cut it out" completely until I have fully replaced my diet with fresh fruit/veggies.

My point is to target what you feel that you need/ready to change. It may be alot or 1 thing.

The goal is to get away from processed food, sugar, white flour, white rice, white bread, etc...

Edited to add.....

Eat Breakfast! My nemesis. It is a struggle.

We did that too! I make virtually everything from scratch now-of course, it helps that I do not work outside the home. I can appreciate that it would be MUCH harder for a person who has to work all day and then prepare meals.

DH and I started with cutting out white bread-we eat whole grain breads and whole wheat bagels now. We used to eat potatoes, rice or pasta at every dinner-now we only eat our meat or fish and veggies.

This week, I started eating baby carrots with my lunch sandwiches instead of chips or pretzels. I have found that it was the "crunch" that I really needed, not the salt and it's been an eye-opener.
