Biggest Loser 2009 - Couples 2

Late post, but does anyone else wonder who died and left Ron boss? Every week he's first to jump in with "...has got to go home!" Why do the others kowtow to him? :confused3 I know he wants to keep Mike there (so do I!) but he's mouthing off even if Mike isn't below the yellow line! It may not be the best game play, but I think he's gotta go - just because of the annoyance factor!:rotfl2:

Queen Colleen

Yes! I've thought this for a long time! He needs to go.

Look what TIVO says about next week's show...

"The contestants are faced with a temptation challenge; the winner of the challenge chooses which contestant will be eliminated."

That's certainly a new twist!

I finally watched last Tues show!

Why was Carla not there from the silver team?

My first thought with Nicole gaining weight was that maybe she was on an extremly low calorie diet at home, then when she got back to campus she ended up gaining. But it could have been stress or drinking lots of water.

I like Ron too and I can understand him wanting to fight for his son but he hasnt really had to as Mike does well. I think he wants to be there for Mike and himself to lose more weight.

There are always strong opinions when discussing who to vote for to go home anyway

Also I think the lying Ron may have been referring to was something earlier in the season about watching out for each other

Carla wasn't there because she actually made it back to the house for a week or two before getting sent home again.

No, at Elimination Ron basically told Sione & Felipe to vote off Nicole.
They said that they were going to vote for who they thought should go home.
Ron said the lying comments because they did not follow his orders.

am i the only one out there who gains 5 - 6 pounds 'once a month' -- i often wonder if maybe some of the weeks where the girls have a smaller loss, or none at all could just be experiencing that??

speculation has it that they may be on the b/c bill that you dont get the monthly (is it the yaz - every 3 month cycle?)

Did anyone see Jillian's response? They are looking for trainers! Jillian makes the show - it took me a few seasons to warm up to her - but with her winning track record, with the show throwing strange twists and all - someone she has trained wins!!

Jillian Michaels Reveals She May Not Stay with The Biggest Loser

April 2, 2009 -- In an interview with DietsInReview.com, Jillian Michaels discussed her role on the hit NBC reality program, The Biggest Loser. Due to a recent casting call for new trainers, she was asked if she'll be staying with the show. Jillian's response was direct, "I might not be."

"I need certain things to continue with the show, and if I can't get them, then no," says Jillian. She acknowledges that NBC has been great in negotiations, but that might not be enough because she's simply not happy.

I need certain things to continue with the show, and if I can't get them, then no
keeping creative options open for next season
"I am freakin' miserable!" she admits, noting that Biggest Loser Season 7 has been a tough one for her, going so far as to say that she really hated some of the contestants and that made it difficult to work with them.

In February, NBC announced the casting call for trainers to be a part of season eight, which will air in fall 2009. Speculation immediately rose amongst fans of The Biggest Loser. While an NBC spokesperson said they were merely "keeping creative options open for next season," Jillian clarifies that there are definite questions about her continued position.

It's seasonale. I am on it too. Yo ucan actually not even get it every 3 months, you can skip the "week" and go right to the next pack. there is also a yearly one out, but I don't know it's name.

To be honest, I don't blame Jillian for splitting.

The stunts BL pulled this season were out of line imo. Sending 9 people home first week, forcing a trainer change on them, etc.

It was just to create drama for the show and not in the best interests of the contestants.

IA and I really don't think it makes the show better either.

To me it wasn't even so much the stunts the show pulled (though if the description of next week is accurate and whoever wins a temptation challenge gets to eliminate whomever they want I'm going to be pissed). The contestants this go around were terrible towards her, Sione and Felipe in particular. How could she have not taken that personally?

For this reason it would be good to change up trainers a bit. Or have a random draw. They seem to be attached before they even get in the house (Sione knowing when he watched Bob on tv that they had a connection. ***?) The tears and drama were over the top IMO, but I blame alot of that on cry-baby Bob. He encouraged all of them with the boo-hooing.

I said something similar a few weeks back.

Agree. On top of which they "voided" the challenge, really.

How fair was that to the other players?

That part last week where Ron said Blue lied
.. A minute later Mike gave Blue a look, and Blue said "I said he'd be Ok. I didn't lie"..... I figured that the reference to lying was that by Blue saying Ron would be okay, Mike & Ron understood Blue meant they would not vote for Ron.
I didn't tape the show, but that's what I remembered. Anyone catch that?

I really am enjoying the biggest loser... sometimes I'll watch the show from my treadmill or exercisebike, sometimes I'll even pedal the bike :rotfl: (actually I did for the entire 1/2 marathon episode!).... but sometimes it's snack time..... what is it about tv and food?

I am rooting for people to stay who need the help to lose the weight or who are really working. And for the ones that finally "get it".
--Ron is one. Ron is losing weight that he's struggled with for years, and he's getting constant medical support --that's a huge help to not give up. I think Mike is very sweet, but I think Mike has done great, and is young enough that he can carry on keeping physically active and keeping the weight off. I don't think he needs to be there for himself anymore-- but he does for his Dad. Ron's like a mother hen when it comes to that boy--he wants Mike to be there for Mike and he wants to be there for Mike.
--Laura shows a heck of determination to prove herself, and Tara, although I wanted her gone often before, has now "gotten it".
(I so dislike Jillian--you have to be a strong person or a desperate person to stick it out with her, but eventually the person she's beating up "gets it". I just don't like the way she does it.)
--Blue and Pink, love the colours, but the teams not so much.
--I like Kirsten. She realizes she really needed the help/motivation etc of the ranch but that SHE's the one doing it for herself, yes, she needs what the ranch offers, but she's bringing it, making it work. She talks out loud a lot, but I get the feeling that she is feeling so empowered and wow-ed by what is happening to her that she needs to share. I bet she'll be doing lots of motivational speaking after this.

Yet, it's still a game, with money as the ultimate prize. Not just the bragging rights. And these are people living in a closed environment...with cameras. There's going to be things said that are stupid, arrogant, mean, petty, whiny, smart, kind, caring, selfish, and every adjective that you can come up with.
I was disappointed by people for the way they stacked up the weights on the car challenge, and I was disappointed with the boozing and pigging out on the luxury challenge.
But how can any of us really know what we would do in those exact circumstances? It has to be like living in a pressure cooker.

I love watching the show for the results and the challenges, but hate the drama parts. That being said, I'll be tuning in on Tuesday! Whether on the treadmill or the bike, whether with sneakers or slippers, whether with sweat on my lips or cheesie crumbs on my lips, I'll be watching!
:) :thumbsup2

My guess for next show is that whoever wins the challenge will choose between the 2 that fell below the yellow line as the person to go.

On the NBC website it says "one player gets the ony vote at elimination"

I don't think I'm gonna like this!

If Jillian leaves, I don't think I would watch. I've seen some episodes on FLN with Kim(?the other trainer). She is nice and all, but it just wasn't the same without Jillian.
