Big Thunder Mountain Refurbisment

I just read on two different sites that BTMR is going down for refurbishment 4/4/16-7/15/16 .
I know that all the rides have to go down at some point, but I am so bummed that my youngest won't get to ride. He was too short our last trip. Our plan is to go 5/27-6/4. I hope we don't have too many surprises like this for our trip!

Pirates has been closed for EVERYONES trip for what seems like forever. It was supposed to open in time for you last one.. but nope. Delayed. or open for an hour and then closed the rest of the day.

That is a disappointment. We have the cutest photo of my daughter there standing on the rock outside that ride the first time she was tall enough to go on it. Sorry that may be postponed for you!

It will be cool, though, if part of the refurb for BTMR is the addition of the lightning/electric shock effects towards the end of the ride something like what was added at BTMR Disneyland. It's a really neat visual and sound effect.

Matterhorn is one of my favorite rides at DL! When I was a teenager we would ride and get back in line until close.

Wow! I didn't know about this at DL. That would be nice. Very disappointing, but I guess we still have a lot of other "first" rides for this trip.

I thought that is had a long refurb in recent years. Makes me wonder what the all the refurb will include.

Just keep in mind those dates were taken from a supposed leaked upcoming refurb list, so they haven't been confirmed (it's far too early for Disney to announce refurb plans for April), but if I had to guess, I'd say it's accurate but we still need to wait for the official word to come down.

Yes, that's true, and it is still so early. I would love for this to be off for sure. Looks like if BTMR is scheduled for a long refurb our chances aren't good though.
