Big runDisney announcement coming in April

Seems like a lot of clues and a lot of time to build up to announcing just one race. What in the world could possibly live up to this hype?

Luckily we only have 21 more days of April to sit through this torture. This better be an awesome race when they do finally announce it. Not having fun anymore...

Maybe the race announcement will happen at 3:00...today would be nice!

"Have you been following ultra runner Dean Karnazes on his Run Across America? He started his journey on February 25 right at the Disneyland Resort and has about 24 more days to go. Can you imagine running upwards of 40 miles per day for 75 days? Impressive."

Perhaps they're going to announce a Run Across America from DL to WDW (or vice versa). And re. the possible "clue" of Dean's 2/25/11 start date, it might be 2/25/12. Remember Clue #2?
OTOH, Princess Weekend at WDW is Feb. 24-26 next year, so maybe they're just adding a full to princess Weekend

I would think with the huge popularity of half marathons, they'd be adding one to the calendar ~ or a triathlon. But since they have so many of the logistics covered for the Princess, adding a full might be an easier add for them.

I still think this has something to do with a March race.
The Roman God, Mars, is what the month of March is named for. While he is more famously known as the god of war he is also the god of Spring. In ancient times festivals celebrating Mars were held in March. And March is the 3rd month of the year, hence the clock.
I have no idea about the door.

The thing is, why would they add a big race during such a busy time of year in the parks and resorts (in this case, Spring Break)?

I never followed the runDisney FB page until I heard about these clues on twitter -so I keep thinking the site is all about this race announcement!

Because Janus (from which we get January) is the god of doors, transitions, new beginnings, time etc.

Janus is the Roman God of gates and doorways, depicted with two faces looking in opposite directions.
His festival month is January

A race in Disneyland in January with the marathon weekend in Disneyworld.

Although every clue makes me change my mind.

He is also the god of new beginnings and transitions. New beginnings = new race possibly starting in a new location. Transitions has the obvious Tri overtones but I still don't think it will be a try. It could be an indication that the new race will have a relay option with transition areas.

Now this clue tells me something about what the race will be.... not. At first I thought about the light being a clue to a night race, but since the wine and dine was hardly lit in some areas that's probably not what the spotlight is referring too...

I'm so over these clues. Hopefully by the end of this week they will finally announce what the new event will be.

Thankfully the month is now 1/3 over. This cannot possibly drag on for more than another 4-5 days.

I had heard it would be announced on the 15th. However I received an email from them saying it would be the 19th. Which is after the wine and dine price increase which is why I had asked.
