I'd like to try some new places on my next trip and cannot decide between BRG or ESPN. This would be for lunch, not dinner. I'm also thinking about maybe doing lunch again at Beaches & Cream. I walked into BRG last year to get a menu and it smelled like beer as soon as you walked in, which turned me off a little.

Where would you go?

I haven't actually eaten at ESPN, too LOUD!

We had one meal at BRBC, ate a snack in the late afternoon outside, it was OK, but I won't be rushing back.

Beaches and Cream...YUM!

Had lunch a BRG with my girlfriend and her daughter in Jan. It was OK. My family has eaten at ESPN many times. My DH and 2 grown DSs are big sport fans and each time the food was good. It is very noisy but they think it is heaven. We love B&C. If it is really crowded we opt for the counter or do take out to the villa.

The food at ESPN is horrible. Beaches & Cream is always good, but never tried Big River Grille.

I personally find very little difference in the quality of food between B&C and ESPN. I don't find the food "horrible" at either location. We generally eat at ESPN at least once per visit and have always found the food to be consistent. The wings are good, the burgers are big (and also good), and DW enjoys their salads. It is loud - but it is a sports club!!

B&C has good food (it's loud too, by the way). The burgers and chicken sandwiches are good. My favorite is the onion rings, they are really good IMO.

We have given BRG two chances. Not impressed. I like beer and I wasn't even impressed with their microbrews. We will probably steer clear BRG for a while.

We had lunch at ESPN, and we thought the food was good. We had burgers and wings, and the kids loved playing Playstation2 while we waited. The service was excellent also.

Big River Grille is the absolute worst Disney restaurant I've ever been to. Period. (And I've been to many!).

Luvtogo, can you tell me more about the kids playing playstation 2 while you waited? My kids are crazy about video games and they would love this restaurant if they were able to play video games while waiting on their food. Are the games near the tables?

Ditto, randyl!

It was as expensive at LeCellier for our family, it was crowded, the pasta sauce was runny, the rest of the food was just OK.

IMHO, the only reason to go is to try their beers....... and I'm not a drinker so I won't be going back. Even if a catastrophe took out Spoodles & The Flying Fish & ESPN & all of Y/BC, I would walk to Epcot in a blizzard to have a good meal instead of going back to BRG.

I love Beaches and Cream but would also recommend ESPN, just for a different experience.

Big River Grille over ESPN any day. For one thing, I'm easily inundated with sports anytime I turn on the TV to ESPN. So no need to try and eat with the same TV programs on--much less the noise level!! Just as easy to stay in your hotel room, turn the TV to ESPN (and turn the volume all the way up!!), haul out a BUD or Coors from the fridge and you pretty much have the ESPN Club w/o even leaving your room!!
And--BRG has those microbrews. ESPN has a pretty short list of the "usual suspects".
BRG has some fine burgers for lunch. If you're a bit more hungry, I can also recommend themeat loaf.

auntkelly: the tables (actually booths) that surround the bar portion of the restaurant have small video monitors built into the wall. You can get a control from your server & away you go PS2 on demand. Thet also have an arcade directly adjacent (and connected to) to the restaurant.

I tried Big River last year and wished I had gone back to Beaches & Cream instead! But to be fair, I didn't order a burger and I didn't drink the beer.

Had BRB for lunch in Jan and we loved it...especially the beer! Looking forward to going again this December.
