So I tried to order tickets yesterday for MNSSHP using the DVC Discount for the day I want to go. I don't think they gave me the discount because it was the same price as buying them on the disney website. When they tried to use my credit card number there computers kept saying my card was declined so natrually i asked them to swip it again which was declined then again and it was declined so i finally used a different card and that to work. Now keep in mind while i was on the phone with them that kept having to put me on hold becuase there computers were not working properly. So i called my credit card company and they told me that there was not hold on my credit card and that Disney authorized 3 transaction on my creit card for a total of $312 (that's not including the $104 that's not on my other credit card). When i called back member services to tell them what they had done they just kept saying that there was nothing they could do about it becuase they don't have the power to refund tickets. And the credit card company says they will not remopve the price becuase disney has too. Has anyone else had a problem like this??? What did you do?? They told me to call Disney billing and tickets dept so hopefully that works.. This is making me so mad right now.

I've never had a problm with my credit card reversing charges, especially in a situation where there were obviously multiple, identical charges in error.

As for the discount, it wasn't available for all nights of MNSSHP, it is possible your date wasn't discounted? If it was shown as a discounted night, then you do need to contact ticketing, as that division technically did the actual billing. I know it is frustrating working with Credit Card refunds. They can take time to process. When I worked retail and we processed a refund, it often took several days to show on the customers account...even though our machine processed it that day.

I'd call MS back and escalate from manager to manager as necessary. If they were responsible for the screw-up (it might not have been their fault, but as they were running the process at the time it was their responsibility), then they should be spending the hours on the phone arguing with various parties to clean up the mess, not you.

I had issues getting my MNSSHP tickets last week. They kept telling me my card was declined (when I knew for certain it should work). They tried twice, before I hung up and called my bank. The bank told me that there had been two successful charges to my card for the ticket amount, but that in both times, Disney reversed the charges 1 second later. Then told me it was declined. They definitely have issues with their computers, and it's really frustrating, especially since the CM then treat you differently because your card was declined (even though it shouldn't have been)!!!!

I called back, and after being on hold for an hour, was able to get it to go through after telling them what the bank told me.

I hope you get it resolved; I just wanted to let you know that you aren't alone in having issues with Disney and credit cards.

Call the Disney ticket service and billing. They will help and make it all right. I love how people immediately start jumping CALL THE SUPERVISOR!!!

Its an easy fix....We did it last December...Bought 6 tickets, 2 people could not go, called, they credited the card. No biggie.

I just got off the phone with tickets and billing and the reason my card was being declined was because the address for member services does not match the address on the credit card.(i am in the middle of moving) If they just said that in the first place at member services i would have felt alot better and wouldn't have asked the to try the card again. Anyway the woman at billing said the charges would drop off after a couple of days and i should not be charged so that's where i am with that. Thanks for letting me vent!

may not have known that was an issue. billing/ticketing would. when a card is declined there is no reason given.

"Holds" are just that, they don't mean anything except in that they reduce your available credit/balance. I have holds move around all the time between rental cars, fuel charges, etc...nothing to worry about.

i know a reason is not given you would just think that they must have run into that problem before and whould ask certain questions to find out why a card may not be working. I don't know maybe not.

An unauthorized hold on my credit limits make me upset as I only use one card for everything. I can understand the OP's frustration even if the finances are never taken from their card. It's more of a headache than anything watching and waiting to see that they're properly credited.

Not to ask, with all the confidential stuff out there...I am not trying to argue, or make your issue small, it would upset me...I was just saying that when we had to cancel 2 tickets, it was quick and painless......

Holds don't effect credit ratings, reports, etc, there really should be no concern. In regards to the hold, it really wasn't unauthorized in the scenario presented. An attempt was made to process the charge, a hold was placed to ensure there was funding available and then the charge was declined by the financial institution because the credentials didn't match.

If you really want to get technical, the anger should go to the financial institution for the hold not being removed after they declined the transaction.

As for me, I look at my actual statement I get delivered to my inbox (which doesn't include holds - never do), as long as the charges I made are there, no issues. Going crazy looking at every transaction as you make it is a little odd to me.

Several times I have had my credit card denied (I have excellent credit), each time I got on the phone with my cc company to see why. The reason was always something that was trying to protect me, (i.e. a charge that was inconsistant with my use, a charge in a location I don't normally charge at). I always thank them for watching out for fraud, and, or course, after talking to me they release the card.
We have actually had them catch fraudalent use, so we don't mind at all that our cc company is being vigilant.

Whew, I'm so glad that they got it straightened out for you. :goodvibes

No kidding! I've had issues with Carnival Cruise Lines and with the Grand Californian HOTEL where room charges each triggered an authorization / hold and then when the actual charge posted the holds did NOT come off for 7 to 30 days because the actual charges were lump sums, not the individual amounts of the holds! Ticked me off because double my credit limit was being tied up. Aggravating for the remainder of the trip, luckily I didn't get too close to my limit but still doesn't seem right. Bank said they couldn't do anything, merchant would have to release the hold. I called Carnival and they said they wouldn't do anything, the extra holds were just their policy. Ugh. Luckily that never happened at WDW and next trip to Disneyland I'll at least know to expect it!
