so sad that remy won't be at Les Chef in Oct
so sad that wishes dessert hasn't been extended yet

I know. I was so hoping to get tickets to the dessert party for my friend's birthday present when we go in September.

I, for one am not happy about that...They do not need to make everything all about characters at WDW.We always dine at Les Chefs ( before Remy) , and enjoy our dining there , and will not be happy if we can not get adrs now because of this.

Then why not go to any typical french bistro? Isn't the reason you go to WDW is to be absorbed into Walt's world? If it were up to me I'd have characters/disney theming in some sort or fashion in all the restaurants. That's what/who I go to WDW for. There can be a happy blend of characteur and fine dining. Le chefs is a prime example, lil Remy is out for only a few minutes, but is enough to emerse you into Disney and not take away from the meal.

I want a little Disney magic in the restaurants. We missed Remi last time so I am thrilled we get another chance.

:confused3 Any confirmation on that ?
since it comes from a Disney site should we take it for granted ?

You shouldn't have trouble getting ADRs. Remy has been there for months already and it hasn't seemed to be an issue. I do believe he only comes out for lunch (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) so just book a dinner ADR to avoid him.

We go to Chefs de France for a nice relaxing meal......if I needed a "character" to compliment my dining experience, I would have made an ADR for one of the numerous restaurants that cater to guests desiring "mouse interaction".
We have dined at Chefs de France many times without Remy, so I am sure we will survive without him this October also.

As far as characters at all WDW restaurants......please NO!

Because I like Les Chefs.Disney doesn't have to make every little thing a character experience.Take Akershus. The food there was 100% better than it is since the princesses took over. We have plenty of character meals, World Showcase restaurants have always been about the dining experience. If I want characters, and I do eat with them plenty..I go elsewhere

Remy's day off is Sunday so I'd advise you partypoopers to go on that day. That way you wont be bothered by the 3 minute show.

was that really an official WDW site, because the official version was when Remy leaves Epcot early in September, he's already scheduled for Disney Tokyo?

It's really cute & all, but not actually worth making a trip to the restaurant just to see. Very, very brief table interaction. So unless you like Les Chefs food, wouldn't bother going there just to see Remy. We like the food there, though.

As for avoiding the show...just book dinner after 6:00 P.M.--the French have taken care of the notion that Les Chefs can be an adult venue by keeping the juvenile entertainment early in the day.

Remy does not appear after 6, ever. He's only there for lunch and early dinners. Think the last time he comes out is 5:20 and it takes maybe a half hour for him to make the circuit around the restaurant then it's no more Remy til the next day.

:confused3 I don't consider myself a party pooper.I have an opinion, which I am allowed to post..I know lots love Remy( I love him, just not at Les Chefs)I don't call them names :confused3

That is not an official Disney site and information posted there should not be considered an official announcement by WDW. They are speculating based on information they have seen elsewhere.

If it's true, and they stick to the current schedule, Sundays and dinners past 6 PM will be rat-free.

I would be totally happy for the actors who got full-time jobs out of it.

WDW is a family vacation destination. To me that means, adults as well as children can enjoy the many attractions and dining venues they offer. There is a reason why the parks are designed, in such a way, to appeal to all ages. I do not consider myself a "party-pooper" because I enjoy the world showcase restaurants and tend to avoid the character buffets. If every restaurant at WDW included characters or were served buffet style...DH and I would not continually return.

**Maybe that is why we enjoy the Signature restaurants and avoid the buffets, at all cost.

Isn't it wonderful that we can all go to WDW and find our own definition for "magic"!!!!!

:thumbsup2

totally could have written that myself- except I would have to add that my DS is terrified of characters, too- which REALLY keeps me from the buffets! Disney Magic isn't about characters in fuzzy suits alone...

Hi, I would LOVE to see the DESSERT PARTY at MK continue!! We were in WDW in July but it did not fit into our plans. Would love to be able to do it when we go back in November for Thanksgiving. It seems to me it would be PERFECT to bring back for the HOLIDAY SEASON!! :santa: Are you LISTENING WDW?? Joan
