If you had to choose, which would it be? We will be with 4 adults and 2 kids and I would like to try them. If you had to try one, which one?

We love Beirgarten, it is one of our favs. I can get a nice filet anywhere but at the Beirgarten to get all that wonderful German food, live band and dancing and beautiful atmostphere....it is a winner every time

Agree completely and must mention that at Le Cellier yoy may be at separate tables, at Biergarten you will sit together, likely with another couple or pair of people, something some hate but I love about Biergarten. Fortunately this trip, we're doing both.

Having been with 6 adults and 2 children we love Biergarten as we can all sit together, everyone can find something they like at the buffet and if the children are a little noisy no one really cares. The restaurant is set like a large town square with music and dancing at the front. My kids loved the music as a distraction and when we went at Christmas the Silent Night brought chillls. :)

Thanks and I may try both, but still haven't made up my mind. Keep the suggestions coming.

With young ones - try Biergarden - entertainment is great and so is the food and beer.

With just the DW and me, we would do LeCellier. If we were dining with our kids (all under 10) -- Biergarten. Are you looking for more of an upscale dining experience or a fun dinner-show atmosphere?

Yes with kids I'd go with Biergarten... fun show and the kids can go dance on the dancefloor with the band. At Lecellier it is much more formal and not much fun for the kiddos. :goodvibes

Agree - with smaller kids I'd definitely opt for the Biergarten. Ask if you can sit on a lower level so the kids can easily join the dance.

I am looking for 1. good food and 2. fun for kids too. We will try all of the character meals on the trip and I am looking for other options. The reason I am looking at LeCellier is the great reviews on steaks. Plus I want to do the most damage to the DDP that I can. If anyone else has any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks for all of the input.

I am definitely trying Biergarten based on this thread's recommendations.

Le Cellier is one of our favorite restaurants at WDW, but with 3 kids (6, 5 and 3) we have to go to the zone defense and the nicer restaurants are somewhat wasted on us. As they get older, things are getting easier, but we still much prefer Biergarten at this stage. In fact, we will be there on Monday. :-) While the food isn't on par with LeCellier (IMHO), it is still quite good and the kids *love* busting moves on the dance floor.

I'd choose Le Cellier - kids or no kids. I've had dinner at Biergarten twice, and I think that's enough for me. It's a fun place, but if I'm spending that kind of money, I want to enjoy what I'm eating.

if you are going to wdw in the next few months it maybe to late to make ressies at Le Cellier, you will have better luck getting in Biergartern.
i called for the first week of Jan. for Le Cellier no luck. Coral reef would be a cool place to eat. you sit in front of a hugh fish tank, sharks, turtles, hugh fish and divers. the food is good and if your on the dining plan its a great place for the kids.

I have to go with the Biergarten. The food is very good (so is the beer) and your children will love the entertainment.

How often do they sing and dance at Biergarten? Is it a show or spontaneous?

We love the Biergarten. In November it was just DH and me and we had a great time sitting and talking with new people. We've also been with our "kids" (25, 24, 22) and they all enjoyed it too. But with smaller kids I think it would be great as well. At Le Cellier I felt like I was cramped for space (whether it was just 2 or 4 of us).

I can make a good steak at home, but there's no way I ca make all that german food :rotfl:
