Well, I finally finally finally found a reservation for DS for our September trip at BBB in MK at 4:50PM. We have Akershus dinner (EP) at 6:30. Do you think we can make it to dinner in time? If not, I will cancel the dinner or try and find another.

Also, is there a BBB cancellation thread or something? I hateeee calling 3 times a day and feel embarrassed! I am looking for something earlier than that time but am grateful I finally got SOMETHING! ANy tips?

Last year in July, we showed up at 4:15 for our daughters 4:30 appointment. We skipped the pictures after her BBB experience and we did not get out of BBB until 6:15. Our appointment was delayed by about an hour. We had a reservation at CRT at 6:00 so they called over and told them we would be late. CRT was ready for us when we arrived but if our experience is any indication, you would probably have a problem making it to Akershus if you had a 7:30 reservation. Hopefully others can chime in with better experiences.

I don't have any experience in this but when I booked BBB I said I had a reservation at CRT for 5:30 and the CM said we could have a booking for 3:30 and basically have time for a few photos before our dinner reservation.

There is no way you will make the dinner at Akershus. If you want a character meal after BBB, maybe consider going to 1900 Park Fare instead? Or, maybe do BBB in DS earlier in the day and then go to Akershus for dinner?

On our recent trip, my daughter did the BBB at the Disney Springs location. It seems that one has a lot more openings, and it was easy for me to get the times I asked for (I reserved several weeks ahead, then changed 2 weeks ahead, and both times they had the exact times I wanted). They had a very nice (new) facility.

If you are going to be doing BBB then dinner in a park other than MK, maybe you want to just go to Disney Springs - it might be just as easy. If you want photopass pictures afterward, they only take a couple there, then you could have even more done at the nearby photopass center, it seems (we didn't, but it was an option).

Is there a big difference between the one at DS and MK? Any difference in photos taken? Also, any tips on trying to find a better (earlier) time other than calling 3 times a day?

There's a giant difference. MK is inside Cinderella's Castle, DS is a shopping area. That said, the new DS location looks spectacular from the video walkthrough I saw. If the magic of being in the castle is important, it's a must. My girls said they'd do it again, but only in the castle.

Only way to make and change reservations is over the phone.

Thank you so much for your help...yes I did know that difference of the location (and I should have been more specific lol!!) but I was wondering if there was a difference in quality/time spent on princesses/photo opportunities, etc apart from the BBB at DS vs BBB in the castle. I especially want her picture taken on the little couch afterwards! SO cute!

There isn't availability any time sooner than 4:50 my entire trip at MK but there were a few openings at DS on different days... The castle is not a MUST do for us considering weve been to CRT several times but never BBB. I would love for her to at least try BBB but want a great experience for her! THank you again!!

Here's the new DS location. Looks very cool. Castle location is nothing like this.

I was coordinating a dining reservation drop when I mentioned to the person that I had 2 BBBs to drop also. We were able to successfully coordinate that. I had looked for a thread but there was none. I mentioned it on a September Dining Reservation Cancellation thread but no interest.

ETA: What we were going to do is go to BBB (MK location) and then head over to 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian. I had gotten late appointments because when we went in May, we had 10 am reservations for the MK BBB. Between the heat and the relative discomfort of the dresses, we had taken them off by 3:00.

I say don't make complicated dinner plans on the day you do BBB...you end up not enjoying the activity because you are worrying about running to the next.

Like the time we had dinner at Victoria and Alberts and then Fireworks boat ride...rush rush rush.

Make a later reservation at a closer restaurant (like at a Monorail Hotel).

I do think calling everyday to look for an earlier opening is best. BBB in the late afternoon is a waste in my opinion. We always tried to get the first appointment of the day the few times we did it.

No. You will not make it. Our BBB was 5:00. We were there at 4:45. We weren't done until 6:00. You need to allow a full hour, not including photos and thats if you get in on time. Then you have to turn around and get to Epcot, through the gates and to Akershus.

there are not many things in this world that I hate than being rushed especially at Disney. After reading your comments and giving it more thought, I cancelled the reservation. I was able to pick one up much later in our trip on an "off park" morning to go to DS and do it then. We have no ADRs, no FPs, no nothing. We will take our time and go to DS (our second choice) to give us a relaxing and fulfilling time at BBB. Thanks to all who contributed! And I agree!! Yay!!
