Beware Pan Am

Hi All

Just thought I would give people a heads up that might be flying on Pan Am.

Their headquarters are a few miles for me and I heard on the local radio station this morning that they went against a federal judges order from a few weeks ago, changed their name to Bostan and Maine airlines, fired about 30 union pilots and some peoples flights to Florida have been cancelled.

Hope no one here is adversly affected.

This is very interesting but makes a lot of sense. We have flown PanAm twice in the past 2 years and had a host of trouble with them this last trip (April). I was talking about them with a friend and then looked on their website couple of days ago, you couldn't search for anything and today it appears they no longer fly into Sanford but only Ft. Lauderdale. So many airlines are having difficulties it's hard to know who to fly with, especially if you are trying to book more tan a couple of months out.

They are now closed !

I a local paer today, Pan Am no longer exsists but the judges are getting involved. Will be interesting to see where it leads.

Oh, nooooo! I have flights booked for Dec! I have been checking the website and noticed that my destination is no longer listed. Pan Am confirmed as late as yesterday that my flight was still scheduled. I am really scared now! I can't believe this is happening. Last year when my husb and I went to Disney World, they overbooked our resort and we were a forced relocation for part of the trip. It was very upsetting. This year, we may not even have a flight down! I can't believe this is happening again!

Good Riddance, Pan Am!

I have posted MANY times on this board warning DIS'ers about Pan AM. I'm surprised they lasted this long! They were VERY lucky to not have a plane crash. Their 727's have been falling apart for years.... they BOUGHT them from United, when United felt they were no longer fit for their airline!

I feel so bad for people who have flghts booked. Try Southwest, they'll be around for a VERY long time!
