Went To Wdw In June-did Mk And Ak. Had Such A Blast We Are Going Again In October. This Time Doing A Land/sea Package. One Day We Will Do Mk And Go To Mnnshp....but For The Other Day, We Don't Know Where To Go With Young Kids....debating Over Doing Ak Again Or Possibly Going To Epcot Or Mgm.....we Are Traveling With An 18 Month Old And An 8 Year Old! Help!!! Lol....

it depends on your kids. If they are the type of kids who like to sit and watch stuff, then MGM for the shows. If they are the type to like interacting with things/coloring (kidcot stations) then I would say epcot. Honestly I would say epcot just for the age range. i doubt you are going to get an 8 year old to sit thru playhouse disney.

Our kids, ages 8, 3, 1.5, liked MGM better. ALL our kids liked drawing Eyeore at the studios and the shows, they liked the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area, and there were lots of characters everywhere. Our kids got grumpy at Epcot because it's so spread out and there isn't much shade. They did enjoy Crush, though. There were lots of things the kids liked at Epcot but, to them it seemed like a long time between attractions.

I was wondering about my 3 DS 14,13 and 11. There is a lot to do in MGM but I am wondering if they are going to like Little Mermaid, Muppet, or Beauty and the Beast? This is our first visit

My 7 yo DS liked Epcot, with Test Track, Mission Space etc. I didn't think there was much for our 16 month old DD to do. Though DS also likes MGM, the Stunt Show(he can't wait) and Indiana Jones, plus there were more things for DD to do, like the Mermaid, Playhouse Disney etc.

I would think the 18 month old would enjoy MGM more. There are several shows, such as Playhouse Disney, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, etc that seem to keep the attention of younger children. Your 8 year old, if anything like mine at that age, will enjoy Tower of Terror, Rock'n'Rollercoaster, etc.

Just my 2 cents.....when my DD was 7, she loved MGM and HATED Epcot. I was so disappointed because I love Epcot. We even tried the Kidcot stations, and I bought her a passport to get stamped in each country. We basically ended up running around the world showcase so that she could get her stamps. She figured the sooner she got her stamps, the sooner we could leave. When we later went to AK, and they had a similar program with the stamps, DD wouldn't even accept the book.........no way she was falling for that again! :rotfl:

She did like the living seas, but my Dsis was fascinated with the manatees and by the time we dragged her out of there, my DD had gotten bored and decided that she didn't like it either.

However, she loved MGM. Star Tours ended up being her favorite, but she was too young to ride ToT or RR.

Epcot is much more laid back than MGM, so if your kiddos are anxious for activity, I would suggest MGM. If they are content with browsing, I would suggest Epcot.

Have a great time! :wizard:

My dd is not the "typical" child guest at WDW. She doesn't like rides and she's almost 7 and has been to WDW numerous times. SO, MK is probably last on our list...but she loves EPCOT because she loves to do a mask everytime we go at the Kidcot stations. And, she also likes to see the princesses at the different countries as well. She loves the Living Seas and the character bus.

Aside from Playhouse Disney and Beauty and the Beast at MGM the only other thing we do in MGM is shop and see characters because she doesn't want to do anything else there. So it just depends on what your children's preferences are. If your 8 yr old is a boy then he may like the Stunt Show, the Indiana Jones show, the RnR Rollercoaster and TOT. Of course you would need to baby swap on the rides.

Keep in mind that the Food & Wine Festival is in Oct at Epcot which makes it much busier than normal (especially at night) however there are some really neat booths set up with special "tastes" of the world. We will be there then as we really enjoy the F&W Festival.

bigmac 5- your boys will probably like the muppet movie as it is enjoyable for adults too. Not sure about the Mermaid show? They'll probably like the Indiana Jones show and the new Car stunt show (and definitely TOT and RnR Rollercoaster if they like rides). Beauty and the Beast is a great show, just depends what they're "open" to :earboy2:

jwfla422--thanks for your comments. We have been to Six Flags the last two years and I have been telling the kids " This is not 6 Flags. We have to get into Disney mode." I think once they get there It will happen.

My kids (7 and 4) way prefer MGM. We go to Epcot and basically just do Test Track and leave. Believe me, I've tried to get them to go through the World Showcase - just not exciting enough for them. The Kidcot stations are just not their thing. My DD did get a kick out of the "statue" but only for her interaction, then she wanted to leave.
