Better route to Orlando?

I am not sure where to post this so moderators if you have to move feel free. Last March when we drove from Mississippi to Orlando the trip down was not that bad. We broke it up staying the night in Tallahassee and driving the remainder the next day. The trip back we decided to drive straight through. Well, apparently half of the United States decided to take the same route we did and also drive like idiots. It took us 3 hours longer to get home than it did to get down there. We took the route recommended by AAA, using the tollway. Going down there it was not bad but I did see traffic backed up in the Northbound lanes. Going back traffic was horrible. Is there not a better way to get out of Orlando and go to South Mississippi?

75 and 95 are the two major interstates. Aside from that, I am sure you could weave your way North. But it could be just as frustrating.

Yep, the only highways that head north out of FL are 75 and 95!
